Chapter 13

**Laura's POV**

It's been paste weeks and now words from anyone pertaining the Spectra but things keeps happening.

I couldn't help but imagine the demon

Sonia had turned herself into .

How absurd!

I slowly stared at everyone and could see a mixture of guilt displayed on their faces.

Sonia tried to hold up the deviant devilish look but it was clear she couldn't hold it up for long.

I've already had enough of their stupidity and I was fed up with everything. I really do not care how Elder Magnus stared at me right now, but honestly, if looks could kill, I'd be dead.

"Whatever you do, don't you dare think this would be the end of everything... Just put a smile on your face while you still have the chance to do so!" Niandra warned angrily and i was trying to proceed what exactly had happen.

" Gone are the days where I'd get scared of you Sonia... You're nothing but a cloud and the moment you disappear, it becomes beautiful all day... " Niandra retorted while she huffed.

"

Sonia, don't you think it's time for you to rest? Haven't you done enough already? " Maxwell asked politely.

" How dare you talk to me in such manner?" Sonia barked, ready to pounce on Jade at any time.

What the heck is going on right now?

" You deserve to be talked down on!!" I replied firmly.

While supporting Maxwell on his feet, I carefully stood up and led him to his room so he could get a proper rest.

I made a mental not of not allowing him drink this much next time. Slowly and carefully, I stepped out with Maxwell and headed to his chambers.

"Don't leave me please..." He pleaded the moment I laid him on the bed.

"I'm not going anywhere... I'd stay here with you. " I coaxed and laid him carefully on the bed.

I drifted off to sleep but woke up by the loud noises I heard outside. Immediately rushed outside only to see chaos happening in the pack house.

Every where looked scattered and people kept running here and there...

What could be the matter be? I thought to myself.

Amiss the chaos, I spotted Sonia and Alex standing at a corner like they were fixated or commanded to stand there without moving.

What the hell was going on?

"Laura????" I heard a scream from behind me and realized it was Niandra calling.

"What's going on?" I asked walking towards her.

" I don't know, I'm surprised too." She replied.

Turning around to take a proper look at the surrounding, I got hit by a shadow.

It didn't take long for me to realize that rouges invaded the pack house.

How where they even able to cross the border?

Well, I didn't have much time to think on it as I got involved in the fight.

Luckily, I was close to our weapon stand so I grabbed a sword and got myself busy.

Tightening my grip around the sword handle, I drew it out and began slashing without excuse.

Anyways, there was something eerie about this.

They weren't really focused on the fight but instead, it was like they were only using this fight outside to divert our attention from what would truly be going on inside.

Noticing that, I ran inside as well and realized that they were going towards the direction of the Council of elders.

That's it! They want to eliminate an elder.

Swooshing through the crowd, I realized that I didn't stand a chance to get past them. Only if there was some kind of secret ways that would lead me to the front.

That's right? No one would know the pack better than a member of the pack.

There should be a room around here that would have several connecting doors that would lead right in front of the Council hall.

Running into the room, I noticed that they stopped for a minute to understand why I had stoped attacking and ran away.

Nice way to distract them a bit but the bad thing was that even our packs warriors were distracted as well.

Running through the rooms without even shutting the doors as they banged against each other, I managed to appear into a room that had a stale atmosphere.

And worst of all, it had no other doors.

Hold up, isn't this the Alpha's chambers?

I thought I was supposed to appear in front and not inside.

Anyways, it's a win win for us.

"Alpha Laura, you need to get our of here immediately." A gamma said hurriedly as I was about diverting.

"Laura, I love you." Maxwell blabbered and I rolled my eyes in disgust.

Gosh, he reeks of alcohol!

"I know you love me but please you have to come with me immediately." I said, pulling him up but the instant when I thought he wanted to stand up at his own will, he slumped on the bed backwards.

"Are we going to the playground?" He asked while twirling as he finally stood up.

So he's still playful as a young boy.

"Yes, we're going to play park so come with me before the demon comes to shut it down." I said, deciding to play young.

"The demon? Let's go, I really want to roll down the slide." He said and ran towards the front door.

"We can't go through the front door because the demon is there. " I said and he halted immediately while trying to maintain his footsteps and balance.

"Okay then, we'll just go through the back door." Maxwell repeated and I was about to protest that there was no back door when I saw him rummaging in his closet for something and soon he pulled out a bunch of keys

"Let's go." He said excitedly and shifted what I thought was a book shelf revealing a hidden door.

"Interesting!" I muttered and he opened the door which led us outside the pack house.

When we were about heading out, I stopped the moment I noticed a peer of eyes gang intently at me.
