Chapter 12

**Laura's POV**

"I was sent by the beast of the east." Niandra blurted out causing everyone to stop whatever they were doing. Everyone dreaded to hear that name and how can she say it without fear?

"What does he want with us?" Elder Draco asked immediately.

"I don't think I need to explain anything as you have encountered him once or twice if I'm not mistaking. " Niandra stated and I struggled to find the soft lady I met few seconds ago but couldn't. Who sat before me was nothing but a cold and ruthless lady. She looks like a siren but damn it she ain't.

"Are you a siren? " Sonia asked with jealousy and pure hate in her eyes. Sonia has always been like this, she easily muster up hatred for someone.

"I didn't come here for you so I guess I owe you no answer. Niandra replied without soaring Sonia another glance.

"So, the beast of the east is the man who —"

"I don't know what man you're talking about but according to him, he has encountered y'all before. Think about it." Niandra replied, cutting elder Draco from saying anything more.

"So you, what message did you bring?" Maxwell asked and she immediately turned to look at him. Somehow, the gaze she held with Micheal made me feel somehow and i would never admit this is jealousy.

"He talked to you about a certain spectra. You have choice than to handover the spectra to him if you want your pack to be safe. He's giving you time to think because you're a young Alpha but don't let him get to his limit. I'm here to stay till you're ready to handover the spectra." Niandra explained and all I want to do was scream out loud.

"But I don't know where the spectra is!!! " I yelled out in frustration. I don't want anything to be a threat to me right now as I have alot to handle already.

"Yes, how are we supposed to know where the spectra is? We were made to believe that it was taken away from our pack." For the first time, Xavier supported which certainly means everyone is terrified about the beast of the east.

"Is that so?" Niandra commented as her gaze travelled to that of Alder Magnus who immediately looked away. "You still have tome to reconsider and talk about retrieving it before it's too late. Meanwhile, I've had a long day and i need rest. " Niandra stood up and I assigned a servant to take her to one of the chambers in the visitors quarters. The servant wad terrified at first but after a reassuring look from me, she went ahead and did as I had said.

"Elder Magnus?" I called out and he can't deny anything here, not even now.

"What? Why calling him?" Sonia snapped immediately.

"My head hurts...." He said out of pretense and everyone suddenly had a pity face for him.

"Take him inside Sonia." Elder Draco suggested and that was how Magnus escaped me. Next time, it would be like this.

One after the other, everyone dispersed and darkness fell heavily on us. It was late in the night now but two elders remained. I hadn't noticed them since the were seated here but I just did now.

"My child, I know the burden is much on you but you need to be careful on the choices you make. You're a female and obviously the first female The Black Pearl pack has ever had and your bravery is really excellent, but be careful. There is more to the Spectra than we know and I suggest you search and inquire more about it. " The elder whom I confirmed to be Elder Axels said to me and I felt like a child being advised by her father. I felt at ease with him.

"You have us around, don't be in a haste and please come to ask questions whenever you want. " The other elder, elder Lucian advised.

"I will. Thanks alot but it's late now... Retire to your chambers please. " I pleaded and they nodded and left.

Their words held a lot of meaning and I needed to find more things concerning the spectra and again to know we're it is?

Why did they sound like the spectra is with me?

Wait, what if it is?

As everyone retired to their bed, I took it upon myself to find out about the spectra. But why wasn't this lady revealed to me by the moon goddess? Could it be that it was yet to happen or this is whole new event?

I decided to pay visit to our packs ancient library, hoping to find some answers. The library was very calm and lonely and it made my thoughts drift back to when I was young. The dusty times and scrolls held secrets of our last, and I was determined to uncover them.

As I delved deeper into the archives, I stumble on an ancient book that was just titled; Spectra.

I was going to read the book when I heard footsteps and suddenly dropped back the book.

"Seriously? This is your pack." A familiar voice stated and I came out of my hiding to find Niandra standing.

"What are you doing here?" I asked her but she smiled.

"I knew you'd be here...." How did she know?

"Don't think too highly of yourself." I said sarcastically but she rolled her eyes at me.

"I'm not thinking highly of myself. You just have to know that I know too." For some moment, I got confused I didn't know what wat she was talking about.

" What do you mean? " I asked but she smiled.

" Don't stress your brain." She muttered making more confused.

" You think that book Will help me in the informations about the spectra?" I thought it would. " Well, if that's what you think then good luck with that."Niandra walked away after saying her piece.
