Chapter 16

Cassius’ Point of View

I looked at the slowly increasing crowd of people nervously waiting at the Assembly Hall. My eyes wander around, looking for a certain hot-headed blonde. Much to my dismay, there’s still no sign of her.

“Looking for the girl you pissed off?”

“You go and piss off, Luster.”

Luster barked out a laugh as he settled himself beside me. “Right, you pissed off a lot of girls on a daily basis.”

“Not my fault they can’t accept a simple ‘no’,” I said, shrugging. Luster shakes his head, completely used to my attitude.

“How is a ‘I have no interest in associating myself to people who just want to leech off my name and status’ a simple ‘no’?” Luster rolled her eyes. “That was a mean way of rejecting people, just so you know.”

“That’s how I simply reject them, man. You would not want to hear the mean way.”

He dissolved into laughter at that as he playfully shoved me. “You are such a big jerk.”

“I know,” I said, sticking up my chin.
