Seraphine’s Point of View

Talking casually with young Cassius was exhilarating.

Without the arrogant quips and sharp remarks, the conversation made me feel so alive. Hearing his slowly maturing voice, still tinged with a hint of childishness, coming from that arrogant looking face was something I never realised I had longed for until now.

I met him when he was slowly becoming a man, but I think I rather prefer meeting this younger version of him. I would love to meet every version of my Cassius, and to love each of them as well.

“Sera, your friends are waiting for you downstairs. They said you’re all walking to school together?” My mother asked from outside my room.

“Yes, mom. I’m coming!”

After checking one last time if I had all my necessary things in my satchel, I left my room and hurried down. I bid goodbye to my parents and then went off with Leilani and Maximus, who were glaring at each other and mouthing off words I couldn’t understand.
