Chapter Thirty

The forest was quiet, its obscured corridors reverberating with the later clash of powers. Clara stood within the center of the room, her eyes bolted on the place where the dim figure had vanished. Her heart still dashed, the adrenaline from the experience coursing through her veins. She seems to feel the faint beat of the Heart, a powerless but diligent throb inside her chest. It wasn't over however, she knew that now more than ever.

Luna approached her, concern etched across her face. “Clara, are you okay?”

Clara nodded, her voice steady despite the turmoil within her. “I’m fine. But we need to move quickly. The figure has the orb, but we still have the Heart.”

Ethan sheathed his sword, his expression grim. “That thing is powerful, Clara. More powerful than anything we’ve faced before.”

“Powerful, yes,” Clara agreed, “but not invincible. The Heart still has a part to play. We just have to figure out what it is.”
