The battle with the Ascendant continued, It was tougher than they expected, they tried all they could to defeat him but it all proved futile.

Ethan’s sword cut through the air, but the Ascendant moved like smoke, twisting and swirling just out of reach. The chamber proceeded to collapse around them, the dividers moaning beneath the weight of the dim energy the animal had unleashed. Clara fixed her grasp on the antiquated blade, her intellect dashing as she attempted to figure out how they might conceivably overcome such a capable foe.

The Ascendant reformed a few feet away, its fiery eyes locked onto Clara. “You think that blade can save you? It is but a fragment of the power I command.”

Clara felt a surge of doubt, but she pushed it down, stepping forward to stand beside Ethan. “We’re not going to let you take this city,” she said, her voice steady. “We’ll stop you, whatever it takes.”
