The Contract.

        Episode 23

  The next day.

  Thompson industries 🏢

Emily's eyes scanned the pages of the contract and looked up at Ryan, 

     "What's this?" she asked, 

Ryan leaned back in his chair, a calm smile spreading across his face. "It's the contract, miss Wilson . The one where you agree to work for me to repay your debt."

Emily's eyes narrowed, her grip on the contract tightening. "My debt?" 

Ryan nodded, his smile never wavering. "Yes, your debt. For saving your mother's life, of course."

"You're not seriously expecting me to sign this, are you?" she asked, her voice dripping with disdain.

Ryan's smile grew wider, "Oh, I'm completely serious, Miss Emily. You owe me, and this is how you're going to pay me back.

        

Emily's eyes blazed with anger as she stood up

. "What if I don't want to work for you?" she demanded, her voice firm. "Besides, I never asked you to save my mother's life. You had no right to interfere."

. "But your son asked me to help," he said with a cunning smile 

She threw him a sharp glare "You're really shameless, using my innocent son against me," she spat, 

       

Ryan just shrugged,

     "I'm just collecting the debt. You should be grateful I'm not asking for more."

Emily's hands clenched into fists, her nails digging into her palms. "You're despicable, "I'd rather die than sign that contract," she said and stood up to go.

        

  " Your mother's bill hasn't been fully paid yet " he said making her stop.

        

 " I have some connections in the hospital so with that, I paid half of your mother's bill and I have to pay the remaining bill today or else..."

        

Emily's eyes widened in horror as Ryan's words hung in the air. "You monster!" she shouted, her voice trembling with rage. "How dare you use my mother situation like this!"

Ryan smirked, his expression unrepentant. "I didn't want to do this either, but you're so stubborn," he said, "Why can't you just agree to work for me, so I can keep my promise?"

 "Promise?" The promise you made to my son?"

Ryan nodded, his expression calm. "Hmm, I was going to pay without expecting anything in return, but remembering your words and how you called my donations 'investment'...I changed my mind."

Emily's face twisted in disgust.

         "I'll never work for you," she hissed, her voice firm. "I'll find another way to pay the bill."

. "I'm afraid it's too late for that, miss Wilson. The deadline is today. And if I don't pay the remaining bill...your mother won't have her surgery."

Emily's eyes widened in desperation as the weight of Ryan's words crashed down on her. She felt like she was trapped in a nightmare, with no escape.

"You can't do this," she whispered, her voice shaking with fear.

Ryan shrugged, his expression unyielding. "I already have," he said, his voice cold. "Now, are you going to sign the contract, or do I need to make a phone call to the hospital?"

Emily's mind raced as she tried to think of a way out but she was trapped.

With a heavy heart, she slowly reached out and took the pen from Ryan's hand. She signed the contract, feeling like she was signing away her soul.

Ryan smiled, "Excellent," he said, taking the contract from her. "I'll make sure to pay the remaining bill. Your mother's surgery is scheduled for Tomorrow for now, tlyer will give you a tour round the company" he said and called tlyer through the intercom.

Emily felt a wave of relief wash over her, but it was quickly replaced by a sense of dread. She knew she had just made a deal with the devil himself. The door opened and Tlyer entered.

        

" Yes boss"

        

  " Hmm, kindly take miss Emily round the company." He ordered and Tlyer nodded and faced her.

        

 " This way please" he said and Emily followed him out. Ryan just smiled as he glanced at the contract,for some reason he was happy.

        

 " Grrrr, grrr'" he's phone rang, he frowned seeing the name.

        

 " Hello, mum"

        📞 Oh hi son! It's been so long since we talked how are you dear! 

        

  " Am fine" he answered, his voice lacking excitement

        

      📞Eh, come on son it's been three months since we last talked and you don't even sound excited to hear from me. Ryan paused a bit, his eyes narrowed.

        

     " Five months, it's been since months we last talked" he said and his mum gasped

        

   📞 What! Wow I can't believe it's been that long...and you son, why didn't you call me. He scoffed rolling his eyes.

        

    " You were having too much fun visiting different countries that you forgot you have a son, so why should I call to ruin your fun" he said coldly

        

        📞 Eh don't be like that son , anyways am back in the country now with your cousin Patricia so, let's have dinner tonight I'll make sure to...

        

        " Sorry but I have work to do I can't come" he cut her off and hanged up. 

        

   *I can't believe her* he thought and sighed deeply.

 * " Okay miss Emily this is the last place" tlyer said smiling warmly as he led Emily through the bustling office. "And this is our marketing department. They're the ones who make sure our products get the attention they deserve."

Emily nodded, her eyes scanning the room. "Hmm."

He continued, "We've got a great team here, always coming up with innovative ideas."

Emily nodded again. As they approached the conference room, Tyler said, "This is where we hold our meetings and presentations."

Emily nodded once more, her eyes fixed on the sleek glass door.

* A lady walked into the company and immediately all eyes fell on her.She was a stunningly beautiful woman, with long legs and a curvaceous figure that was accentuated by her fitted dress. Her dark hair cascaded down her back in luscious waves, and her bright smile lit up the room. She wore a pair of stylish eyeglasses perched on the end of her nose, adding a touch of sophistication to her already polished look. Her high heels clicked on the floor as she moved, and her designer handbag swung from her shoulder, completing her chic and glamorous ensemble. 

 🗣️"Isn't that Miss Patricia?"

👤"She's stunning!"

👥"I heard she's a model."

🗣️"Those legs are to die for!"

The lady, not minding the commotion she was causing, continued her phone conversation:

"Of course, babe, I'm really here. I just got back yesterday and now I'm at Ryan's company. I want to see how my cousin is doing... Yeah, you can come over. Okay, see you then." She hanged up and entered the elevator.

As she stepped out of the elevator, she scanned the area, her eyes locking onto a familiar figure. Tyler was standing with his back to her, engaged in conversation with a woman. Patricia's eyes narrowed slightly as she removed her glasses to be sure it was him 

She took a few steps closer, her heels clicking on the floor, and Tyler turned, sensing her presence. Their eyes met, and a hint of a smile played on her lips.

  " Hi tlyer long time no see, who's she your new girlfriend" she asked with a sly smile. Tlyer just rolled his eyes.

        

" Hello am Emily and am not his girlfriend,he was just showing me the company."Emily said and she nodded

        

 " Okay, since you're busy I'll leave you now" 

   

  " Thank you Patricia, miss Emily let's go " he said and Patricia smile turned to a frown.

        

 " Huh? How dare you call me by my name" she snapped

        

 " If I don't call you by your name what else should I call you " tlyer asked blinking innocently 

        

 "You! How many times did I tell you to call me mam Patricia huh?" She snapped again and Tlyer scoffed

        

  "And why should I call you that, are  you my boss?"

        

 " But am your boss's cousin so..." 

  

   " Exactly!" He exclaimed cutting her off." You're my boss's cousin, it's your cousin who hired me not you" he said and she glared at him.

        

  " sorry but I don't have time for you I need to show her around it's boss instructions"

        

 " Tssh! Not like she's special, so which department is she working with?" Patricia asked. .

        

   " She's not in any department, she's boss's new personal assistant" he replied.

        

" What!!!" A voice shouted and they turned to see angry Alex.

        

  * Oh gosh this is not good* tlyer thought and gluped down nothing.
