"Wait let me get this straight, you want me to get fat?" Cara does not know if she should be offended or threatened. Was this his grand plan to make her pay for the scene she caused? It's nuts. There she is, Cara Green, sitting calm, waiting. Anyone who knows Cara will know she is never calm, but her present predicament calls for it.
She is sitting comfortably on a leather chair which should already have her butt frame sculpted on it given the fact it is her go-to chair when visiting. Cara knows the most comfortable posture: Her legs spread out, her back pressed on the chair in a way that gives her backaches when she stands up, her left hand resting on the arm of the seat, and her right hand resting on her lips. Her teeth chewing down on her fixed black nails as she adjusts on the chair a couple of times.
Two weeks ago, Cara got a call that broke her heart. Not that boy leaving you heartbreak, but the heartbreak of knowing you might lose the person that brings you ice cream and suggest you egg his car. Her mum, Brianna Green, the most incredible woman ever and one can say she is a superhero. At the age of 53, Brianna is what the present age kids will call "lit", she had this crazy way of thinking and she's definitely the reason Cara ended up the way she did. Independent, strong-willed, funny, a total psycho and most of all, a person with a good heart. But at this moment in time, Cara is not feeling independent.
Cara's late father would always tell her that she was exactly like her mum in terms of character, he would say, "Attitude like your mama but a face like mine." She was her dad's twin, jet black hair with wild curls, ocean blue eyes and beautiful freckles spread across her cheeks. Martin Green was a fire-fighter, he died five years ago fire fighting and that was when Cara experienced her first heartbreak.
Cara is eyes glued to the heart monitor realizing how delicate that machine is, and how a straight line will lead to an end to everything. The sound of the door opening brings Cara back to the painful reality.
The test results are out.
This is the last place Dr Andrew wants to be, mostly because he is frightened of Cara.
Why?
Cara had teased the young doctor about having sex with him in his office, with her back bent on his table. In Cara's defence, it was fun to tease him, it helped her pass time plus the poor guy is always mortified.
His facial expressions are everything.
That is why he didn't even need to talk, Cara can see that her mum's condition has gotten really bad from his shaky hands, the sweat running down his face and his feet planted in one position.
"How bad is it?" She stands up, ignoring the backache from her "comfortable position."
"S-she needs surgery, soon."
Cara falls back on the chair trying to process the new information. Everything is happening so fast.
Dr Andrew on the other hand didn't expect his announcement to go this smoothly, so he isn't going to ruin it by comforting her. He slowly backs away, leaving Cara to the dreadful news that her mum is dying.
Brianna always hated the word "cancer", most of her friends fought the sickness and lost. As dramatic as Brianna is, she would rather die in a club while living her life to the fullest, than being trapped with heart monitors, tubes and an oxygen mask. If she can see herself right now, she will throw up. She withdrew the information from Cara as long as she could. But two weeks ago she broke down and ended up in the hospital, there was no hiding it anymore.
Ovarian cancer, within the span of two weeks, Cara knew all she needs to know about it, which is surprising because Cara is not the book type. It's not like it helps, what her mum really needs is money.
The heart monitor, the treatments and everything are already too much for a bartender at Geisel's, now surgery? That is above her.
Cara stands up again, feeling the strength coming back to her legs as she walks up to her superhero, who is the one currently in need of saving.
"Hey mum," she whispers, removing strands of brown hair covering her pale face. Cara envied her mum's hair, brown, shiny and how it beautifully falls down her shoulders, compared to the wild curly hair Cara has. As much as she hates her curls, Cara loves herself; some may say she is self-absorbed.
They are not wrong.
Cara stares at how beautiful her mum is despite everything, she looks so peaceful in her sleep. She lets out a low laugh, already imagining jokes her mum would say, she will definitely tease Dr Andres too.
"I won't let you die." Cara's words are more of an assurance to herself than a promise to Brianna. Tears welling up in her eyes giving her a blurry vision, she cannot handle seeing her mum this frail, in a white ugly hospital gown with all this life support attached to her.
She slowly places her lips on her mum's forehead, giving it a peck before walking back to her chair. She picks up her leather jacket which she had planned to wear with a sundress which her mum got for her, but she is currently wearing faded ripped jeans and a crop top with a pair of sneakers.
Cara is determined to find the money but she doesn't know where and how she would go about earning it. She walks out of the ward reluctantly brainstorming on ideas, within seconds she had come up with organ donation, eggs selling and again organ donation, but mama ain't gonna like it.
Remember that crazy way of thinking? Well, Cara has it too.
So deep in thought, she is yet to realize that she is already outside, standing like a creep in front of the hospital entrance.
"My child, can you help..." Cara soon realizes she is obstructing an elderly woman from gaining entrance in.
"Oh, I am so sorry." Cara pulls the glassed door open for the woman to get in, her hands already hurting, and the woman is taking her time to walk in.
"Thank goodness," Cara mutters under her breath. She can finally release the door now that the woman is inside. She takes a few feet away from the door and there it is, a solution to her problems. It wasn't a complete solution but it was a start and it didn't involve an organ donation.
Her motorbike,
This matte black motorbike has quite a history with the Greens. Martin Green was on this bike when he met Brianna, and Brianna may or may not have stopped to listen to what Martin had to say without that cool bike. Cara waited to get this bike from her dad; she even had to reject her mum's truck which was to be given to her at 16.
It wasn't a hard choice, the car was horrible.
Cara finally got the motorbike when she was 18, and she was the happiest girl in the world, the confidence it brings to her is addictive. Like a drug addict, she is finding it hard to let it go, selling an organ didn't sound bad anymore.
Well, she isn't going to make a decision standing in front of St Rose hospital, she needs to clear her head. She opens up her leather jacket and throws it over her shoulder, struggling to wear it.
The jacket is small for her now, another thing Cara has to get rid of but won't.
She frees her long curls from its tight bun, leaving the hairband on her wrist. Cara loves riding with her hair down, it makes her feel free.
Cara walks away from the pavement, heading towards her motorbike which is parked across the street. She is about to cross, only to come to a halt upon seeing a Range Rover reversing and knocking off her bike to the ground.
Cara plants her feet at that spot, and what is running through her thoughts is, "What just happened?"
The culprit driving away brings Cara of her shock, she could feel her blood boiling and all she is thinking of is murder.
Someone turned on that crazy fuse.
Her legs carry her from the stagnant position, across the street to check on her "baby". She stands the motorbike up, cussing how heavy it is, and the bike reveals its huge scratch.
She is definitely going to kill someone.
Without thinking twice, Cara hops on her bike, grabbing the keys from her back pocket and brings the engine to life before racing after the soon to be dead man.

"What was that?"
"I don't know, Sir?" Marco knows he hit something but it is his first day on the job and Alexander Black has a reputation for firing employees without remorse. Marco Ryes needs the job, his wife is pregnant with triplets; he is still in shock himself. All he could hope for is that what he hit wasn't something important.
Alexander, on the other hand, knows that his new driver is lying. But with his latest scandal with a long-time girlfriend (now ex), Liza Woods, he doesn't care about Marco's mistakes.
The 35-year-old business mogul has had his fair share of scandals but none about his personal life, this is different. He is just coming from a home where he had a meeting with his publicist, Andre Corner, who advised him to speak up before Liza does, to gain control of the situation. How can he speak up when he can't believe this is actually happening? Liza is going to say something soon and that he is sure very sure of.
Liza is one smart bitch.
Alexander has the power to fuck the 28-year-old model over but he is stalling, even he himself doesn't know why.
He got a message a while ago from his security team, alerting him about the paparazzi waiting outside the company. The security is already in position waiting for his arrival.
Alexander is currently scrolling through blogs and Liza is made to look like the angel in almost all of them.
Not surprising.
It isn't healthy looking at this but he just couldn't help it, his face is on every gossip magazine and newspaper. They are having a field day, coming up with theories as to why the couple that has been dating for eight years finally called it quits. He can bet that Liza likes attention.
She always has.
"Sir, we are here." And behold, when he looks out his tinted window, he can see the paparazzi waiting for him outside the company, waiting to devour him.
They do not notice his car pulling up because they are facing the company, thinking he is inside, but his security already sees the car.
He places his hands on the door handle and for a second, he doesn't want to do it, face them. He wants to go back home, take a couple of drinks and sleep it all off. It's sad because, Alexander can't do that, he is going to go in there, reassure investors and shareholders to continue building his empire.
Liza is a thing of the past.
Marco gets down to help Alexander open the door, thinking that's why his boss is taking his time to get down. The rays of sunlight that accompanies the opening of the door is a wake-up call to Alexander.
There goes nothing.

Cara is driving at full speed to get there before the person responsible for the damage gets down from the car. The tires of her motorcycle screech as she steps on the brake, coming to an abrupt stop. She wonders what is with the crowd of people gathered, but it doesn't matter to her, all she wants is payments for damages done.
She pushes her motorcycle to a safe place at the corner of the street to prevent further damages from blind lunatics like the one she's chasing after.
Cara rushes towards the car just in time as Alex is about to come down. There she is in front of the man she has used all colourful words on while coming, but now as she sets her eyes on him, no words come out.
Tousled midnight black hair, which is thick and lustrous, Cara can only imagine running her fingers through its curls. Emerald green eyes, small lips which fit perfectly with his well-defined face and a prominent jaw gracefully curved and shaped to perfection, Cara couldn't help but stare. Her eyes travel down to his chest, strong arms and broad shoulders which is covered with a grey suit. He looks sinfully good in this suit as angry as Cara is, she cannot deny it.
"You need to get out of my way." Alexander finds it weird as an unknown girl blocks his way, staring at him without saying a word. At first, he thought she is part of the paparazzi but now he knows the curly-haired girl is a fan and he doesn't have time for fans or paparazzi at the moment.
Alex rude words snap Cara out of her hypnosis and she mentally scolds herself for staring like an idiot. That is just a moment of weakness, now she focused on the reason she is in front of the rude man.
"Not a chance, you ruined my bike and now I need payments to fix it." Cara moves closer to him, showing him she means business.
Alexander's perfectly shaped eyebrows curves in confusion; soon he finally understands what she is talking about. Marco hit her motorcycle and now she is here sabotaging his escape from the press.
Alexander looks ahead which isn't difficult given the height difference between him and the girl in his way, he signals to his security men to get ready. He can't waste any more time exchanging words with the curly-haired girl, the press will soon realize he is here.
"Hey, look at me while I am talking to you." Cara is seconds away from unleashing the crazy. Alexander notices that one woman holding a camera has spotted him, so he has to act fast. He pushes the raving lunatic aside and walks towards his security men.
"Hey!" Cara yells but it is too late for both of them, the crowd is already over Mr Popular making it hard for Cara to get to him.
"Liza says you are on a break, is it true?" It is the first audible question Cara could hear from the crowd of people throwing questions at Alex. "Who the hell is Liza?" She wonders
Cara soon realizes she needs to act fast, Mr popular is seconds away from being escorted inside and there is no way in hell she is going to be allowed inside once he enters.
An idea pops, not the best but Cara never has a good idea.
"Haaa..." Cara cries out loud, her hands on her face. She spreads her fingers to see through, noticing no one was paying attention to her, so she cries louder.
Soon the attention diverted from Mr popular to her, cameras all up on her face and microphone under her mouth. Cara doesn't brag but she considers herself Oscar-worthy. She can put on quite a show and one of her greatest acts is to cry on command.
Cara puts her hands down and the tears were already flowing like a river, she looks ahead but the person's attention she craves for is not being given.
"Madam, what's wrong?" She hears the first question from the crowd, Cara is internally smirking because she is about to put on one hell of a show.
She points at Alexander's who is about to enter the company before she says the most controversial statement without thinking.
"This douche got to me pregnant and won't take responsibility." The crowd goes into a frenzy but her eyes glued at Alexander who stands frozen in front of his company, shocked but most of all pissed.
What has she gotten herself into?

Sadly, it's all words, my reality is far from what I write in my books.Trust me when I say my intense love stories put my marriage to Cole James to shame.10 years and one amazing kid later, I've realized that my marriage has reached that stage. Yes, that stage. The stage where we don't even notice each other anymore, don't do things to make each other happy, a stage which would make one cuss the words "happy ever after".The past 12 hours ha
16 YEARS LATER.ALEXANDER'S POINT OF VIEW."Put me down," She chuckled as she wiggled her legs.I opened the door of our room, taking my wife inside, and closing the door behind us using my leg."Alexander." She whined, I took a little spin which made her giggle.Almost immediately, I felt my back snap stopping me from spinning. It's a sharp pain that pushes through my entire body."Are you okay?" She looked up at me worried, almost as if she heard it snap."Yeah." I lied through the back pain. I slowly put her down trying to prevent myself from falling. With this annoying back pain, my doctors say I should refrain from
"Hey, long day?" Cara looks up at Xander as he walks into the sitting room."Yeah," He drops his briefcase on the couch across hers and then walks up to her. "But it's better now." He mutters as he brings her chin up with two fingers before placing a kiss on her lips.Cara smiles. He puts his hand on her baby bump."How are you two doing in there?" He whispers putting his head down to her bump."Wanna talk about your day?" Cara asks.
"What are you doing?"This is it, she has to make a decision. It's either flight or help. Her hands are shaking, her heart beating fast, the sound of Cara in pain is not helping her think. Why can't she actually walk away?Growing up, people around Liza were scared of her and what she is capable of, including her mum who since Liza was a kid noticed that she didn't have an innocent mind as most kids do. She became more scared of her when Liza, after an argument with her mum, burnt down the house with her in it.Luckily her mum survived but her mum's assistant suffered burns. She didn't get punished for her actions, Charlie paid for the damages as he always does.
"Prove it," such simple words but as every day passes, it becomes harder for Alexander to decode its meaning. How else is he to prove how much he loves her? He thought ordering his security to never let Liza into his house and company is proving it. The flowers every morning at her doorstep, sleeping in his car just outside her house every day, the daily words of affirmation he texts to her every morning and night before she goes to bed, isn't that proving it? The fear of the break becoming permanent is running through Xander's thoughts and these fears are slowly eating him up. Usually, he keeps busy when emotionally stressed, but it's different now, he doesn't want to do anything. So he didn't. Today, he didn't send flowers and he also didn't stop by at her place at night. He stayed home and got drunk.
"Say something," Cassie whispers after offloading her past to Xavier. He has been quiet through it all and this is unsettling for her. Xavier raises his head and looks at her, "Thank you for sharing." He says in a low tone. Cassie nods, trying to process his reply, and then she pauses for a second before she shakes her head, "Is that all you want to say?" "I mean, no one is perfect. I am definitely not." She shakes her head in denial that someone can actually accept all she has told him easily. "You are just saying what you think I want to hear." "No, because I know I am not a saint. I have slept with hundreds of girls, given them a good time. I probably should have gotten my money's worth." Xavier jokes. Noticing t
Cara peeps through the window for the thousandth time, she ensures the curtain covers her face as she spies on the BMW outside."He has been there all night," Cassie says behind her which makes Cara jolt up and release the curtain immediatelyCara walks away from the window to the couch where she takes her seat. "Don't fall for his dramatics."Alex hasn't left since Cassie dismissed him yesterday afternoon. Cara won't admit but she woke up a couple of times in the middle of the night to check outside her window. She has been uneasy."I was thinking of bringing him breakfast."Cara shrugs, "You are the one that cooked, suit yourself."
It felt good at the moment, like winning an argument but then you realize that you said somethings that you don't mean. By the time she took the video down, the internet was already on fire. The news gained more buzz than the time news got out that Liza and Xander broke up. Almost a dozen calls from Xavier and Xander, Cara even got some from Andre. All calls were ignored, and she turned off her phone. She cannot be stressed, the minute she got home, she ate and had a nap.As for Xander, when he saw the video, he could care less about the damage it could do to their already existing narrative, all he cares about is what set her off for her to make such a video."We had a narrative
"How dare he?" Cara scoffs as she paces around the sitting room ranting about Xander. Cassie remains mute, not knowing what to say.She had earlier told Cara to let it all out and now she is regretting it. Cara is indeed going on and on about how much of a jerk Xander is and Cassie is just seated nodding repeatedly."He walked out on me like he's the victim, I should be the one walking out on him," Cara says while Cassie nods.Cara's eyes widen like an evil mastermind who had just connected the dots. "He's trying to manipulate me with that stunt he pulled, but it's not going work. I am Cara Green and that shit doesn't work with me." Cara states and as always, Cassie nods. She continues ranting and Cassie continues nodding."You need to have seen the way he looked at me when
