Thompson industries 🏢

 " Ryan I can't believe this, how can you hire someone like that to be your personal assistant!" Alex asked.

     "Am I obliged to ask for your permission before hiring someone? and What's it to you, Alex?" He asked

        

" What's it to me?, Am just worried Ryan I mean, this is Thompson industries. The number one company in America. Only people from top universities are hired here and I doubt if someone like her is qualified to be here" she said folding her hand.

        

 " Am the one who hired her, so I know she's qualified" he said and sat down but Alex kept mumbling angrily.

 "How dare someone like her work here? She's a lowlife, a gold-digger... "

Ryan looked at her angrily. "Watch what you say, Alex."

Alex faced him, her eyes blazing. "You have no idea what kind of person she is. Even from her eyes, you can see she's a cunning witch."

Ryan's expression turned stern. "Alex, don't talk about my employee like that."

Alex scoffed, her voice rising. "Employee? She hasn't even started working yet, and you're already defending her. What's up with you, Ryan? Are you sure you're not doing this for personal gain? Did she seduce you?"

Ryan's anger boiled over, and he slammed his hand on the table. "That's it, get out!" He held her hand and dragged her out of his office.

        

Patricia and Tyler exchanged a shocked glance as Alex was dragged out of the office and the door slammed shut behind her. They had been eavesdropping on the heated exchange, and now they looked at each other with wide eyes.

 " Open the door right now Ryan! I still need to talk to you! Open up!" She shouted banging on it. Patricia sighed and came to hold her hands

        

 " You should stop babe he's clearly angry with you" she said calmly but Alex grabbed her hand

 " Pat, can you please talk to Ryan for me huh? am sure he will listen" she asked her eyes desperate, for reason seeing Emily here made her uncomfortable. Ryan is someone who doesn't like females to be near him that's why only tlyer is always around him, but now he hired one and a beautiful one at that. No something was odd 

        

" Oh Alex, I came here to visit my cousin today but because of you getting him angry, am afraid of even seeing him now. You know how he gets when he's angry, how about we leave him alone for now" Patricia said and she dropped her hands sadly 

        

" Huh? What's with that look, come on we haven't seen each other for two years aren't you happy to see me" she asked pouting her lips cutely, tlyer faked a throw up face when he saw that.

        

 " Hmm, of course am happy to see you pat" Alex responded slowly and Patricia's face lit up with a smile.

        

 " Then let's spend the whole day together gosh I have so many things I want to do with you, come on let's go" she grabbed Alex hand and left happily. 

        

 " Tskk tskk" tlyer just shaked his head before entering Ryan's office.

 Landon's restaurant.

        

 " The food is ready!" Landon announced happily as he set the food on the table. He had invited lily, Emily and Her kids to dinner.

        

 " Wow! This looks delicious lan wow, I can't wait to taste it" lily said licking her lips already at the sight of the food.

        

  " Wow this is really alot, thanks for inviting us to dinner Landon but you didn't have to" Emily said and Lily rolled her eyes secretly.

        

 " Eh, don't say that. I did this so we can celebrate godmother's surgery", he said sitting down.

        

 " Lily has the date been fixed?" She asked and Lily nodded

        

  " Hmm, I went to the hospital earlier and the doctor told me everything has been fixed and mum will be having her surgery three days from now" she said and Emily sighed out of relief.

        

 " Oh thank goodness, am so glad everything turned out well" 

   *He really kept his word after all* she thought.

        

  " This is all thanks to Mr Ryan, right Zander?" Lily turned to Zander and he nodded excitedly

"See we told you mr Ryan is a good person, he kept his promise and saved grandma" he said smiling, ash clapped her hands smiling which made everyone laugh.

        

 "Hmm, okay let's eat, here you go champ" Landon placed a plate of pasta and a big drumstick in front of him. Zander's eyes widened at the sight

        

" Wow! Amazing a whole drumstick for me... uncle landon you're the best" he gave him a thumbs up making Landon chuckle

        

  " Eat up you deserve it, here ash you too your fav part, chicken wings" he said and ash smiled at him giving him double thumbs up.

        

  " Gosh, aren't you spoiling them too much" Emily said and turned to see lily already stuffing her mouth.

        

 " Gosh, just look at you. Are you a kid huh.. slow down" she said giving her a napkin, lily just smiled and continue eating after wiping her mouth.

        

 They continued eating but ash poked Emily drawing her attention

        

 " Yes baby, want me to help cut the meat" she asked but ash shaked her head

        

  " Job" she signed with her hands and Emily understood what she said.

        

  " Oh that's right, mum have Mr Ryan already given you a job?" Zander asked. That morning Emily had told them she was going for an interview.

        

  Emily half smiled and nodded.

       " Um, yes baby. I... passed my interview and got the job" she said her children eyes lit up with excitement

        

 " Does this mean you'll have enough time for us now mummy?" Zander asked and she nodded

        

  " Yay! Mummy can play with us alot now yay!" He raised his hands swinging them while ash clapped her hands excitedly

        

  " Enough now kids remember you're eating , you should mind your table manners" she warned and they stopped but still smiled.

        

 " Wow! Congratulations sis.. am really happy for you wow, Mr Ryan is really an amazing person. First he saved mum and now he gave you a job woo hoo!" Lily said excitedly. Landon just faked a smile, he wasn't too happy about the sudden praises of Ryan .

        

" Congratulations em" he said, Emily just faked a smile

        

 " Hmm, thanks lan" she watched as her children and sister giggled happily about her new job.

        

    *I wish I was half as happy as you guys are about my job* she thought sighing deeply before continuing eating her food.

        Emily's house

" Thank you for the dinner lan, my family loved it" Emily appreciated with a smile

        Landon had brought them home after the kids fell asleep and now he's taking a walk with Emily.

        

" Am glad you all enjoyed it, it's the least I could do" he said looking down, Emily stopped.

        

 " What do you mean by that?" She asked.

        

" Well, I... since I couldn't help save godmother in anyway...the least I could do was cheer you guys up" he said and smiled.

        

 " Don't say it like that lan, you were a really big help to us. You stayed with us and comforted us, not many people can do that you know. Thank you" she said. Hearing this made him happy, making him smile widely.

        

" You're welcome em am glad I could help" he said and they continued walking.

        

 " Ah right, about this Mr Ryan...do you have any idea why he's doing all of this" he asked curiously.

        

 " Honestly, I don't know but...he said he's doing it for the kids" she said and he scoffed

        

 " So, he fell for them at first sight and now helping your family, isn't that wired to you?" He asked and she stopped and faced him.

        

* Should I tell him the truth* she wondered staring at him

        

 " And are you really okay with him offering you a job...he isn't doing that so you could repay him is he?" He asked again but Emily wasn't listening. Her eyes kept darting as many thoughts crossed her mind.

        

 * If I tell him about the contract knowing Landon am sure he will march angrily to Ryan's office and make a scene.*

        

  * No, I probably shouldn't* she thought shaking her head absent mindedly

        

  " Emily!, " Lan called snapping her out of her thoughts

        

  " Huh?" She looked at him blinking her eyes

        

  "Are you okay?, You spaced out just now. "

        

 " Lan um, I should head in now, tomorrow is my first day and I have to get enough sleep so I can wake up early tomorrow" she said and he nodded

        

  " Okay, then.. goodnight, I wish you good luck tomorrow."

        

       " Hmm, bye lan, get home safe" she waved and turned back. Landon stood watching her until she was out of sight before entering his car and Zoomed off.
