Falling into place

 Episode 27

  " Ah ah, it hurts...ah be gentle Landon" Lily groaned as Landon rubbed the ice bag on her face.

        

  " You were acting all cool at the station earlier but look at you now sheez... crybaby" Landon teased

        

 " Crybaby me, tshhh it's that witch that's a crybaby, if only you saw how black her eye was"she smirked proudly and Landon hit her head.

        

" Ouch! It hurts" she frowned rubbing her head.

        Landon scoffed and she smiled nervously

       

" Promise me Landon,you won't tell my sister about my part-time job and this incident alright?" She asked and he shaked his head 

        

" I won't but promise me you'll quit and focus on your studies, you'll be graduating soon right so just quit" he said

        

 " Eh, do you think with what happened today they would still keep me... don't worry I already quit." She said and he nodded.

        

" Hmm , I just wanted to help out. I didn't want to put all the burden on Emily...I didn't want..to act like before six years ago" she said sadly as she recalled that fateful day.

Lily kept trying to call Emily for the tenth time but she wouldn't answer.

        

   " Pick up pick up Emily!" She ruffled her hair frustratedly and sat down. 

        

  " I can't believe this, how could you not be here during this hard time, you're so heartless Emily" she said with clenched teeth.

        

 " Lily" she heard Landon's voice and stood up to hug him.

        

" Landon, you're here" she sniffed.

        

 " Hmm, have you eaten yet" he asked slowly and she shaked her head.

        

 " Here, have this and eat" he gave her the packet and sat down

        

" You, you don't look okay. Are you alright Landon?" She asked worriedly.

        

" I've already paid for godmother's bills, the surgery will be scheduled soon." He said and her eyes widened with gladness.

        

 " Really!! So mum is gonna be okay?" she asked and he nodded. Just then the doctor came and asked her to come sign some documents.

        

* Few minutes later

* " Have you finished with the doctor?" Landon asked

        

" Yes, he said the surgery will be in three days from now" she said happily.

        

 " But, where did you get the money from Landon?" She asked curiously

        

  " From...my boss where else, he lent me the money" he said nervously avoiding her eyes.

        

 " Hmm, am really grateful to your boss for helping us. I wonder where my sister went tshhh she said she's working and trying to look for money to save our mother but look...she isn't even here" she said with a frown.

        

" Don't talk like that, maybe... something came up" Landon said but she scoffed

        

 " I doubt it. I bet she's having fun somewhere again not caring about me or mum...I hate her" she muttered the last part but Landon heard her and stood up.

        

" Lily Wilson, is that how you talk about your elder sister? What's gotten into you!" He snapped and she stood up angrily

        

" I can't believe you're blindly taking herside even now, I know you care about her but can't you see, she doesn't even care about any of us... she's just a selfish person!" She spat hotly and folded her arms angrily.

        

        Landon looked at her before grabbing her arm.

        

   " Wh..what are you doing Landon, let go of me you're hurting me!" She yelled but he didn't listen he kept dragging her until they got to a particular ward before he stopped.

        

" What the hell is wrong with you let me go now!" She struggled 

        

  " You wanted to know where your sister is... well see for yourself" he said and opened the door. Lily looked at him confused.

        

  " Wh_ why would my sister be here?" She starmmered, Landon didn't say anything but dragged her inside. She entered and saw her sister, lying on the hospital bed unconscious.

        

  " Em_emily..." She called fearfully and walked slowly to the bed.

        

   " Emily, what... what happened.." she asked her voice barley audible. Emily's neck and wrists were red like someone who was strangled. Her hair was a mess and she saw traces of dried tears on her face. Lily broke down in tears at the sight of her sister.

        

 " What happened! What happened to my sister!" She shouted crying.

        

" Emily didn't go out every night because she wanted to, she was working as a dancer in a club to earn money" Landon said and she faced him

 " What! da..dancer? How come why! and you knew about this, why didn't you tell me!!" Lily yelled at him and he lowered his head

" Am sorry, I only found out a month ago and she made me promise I wouldn't tell anyone... it's all my fault...I should have stopped her" he said in a cracked voice as tears streamed down his face.

        

"Am so sorry Emily, am so sorry" lily said crying seriously as she held her sister's hand.

 " I'll never forgive the bastard who did that horrible thing to my sister" Lily said determined.

        

 " If I ever come across that bastard one day... I'll kill him" Landon said in cold voice which sent shivers down lily's spine.

  Two days later

 Thompson industries 🏢.

 " Here's your coffee boss, not too hot, too sweet, bitter or cold" Emily said as she placed the cup of coffee in front of him. Ryan glanced at her before taking a sip.

        

" hmm, it's good. You've improved" he said with a smile.

        

" Enjoy your coffee then, I'll take my leave now" she said and turned to go.

        

" Wait!, We'll be going for a meeting in 30 minutes so get ready" 

        

 " Huh?, I thought tlyer was going to accompany you" she asked

        

 " You're my PA not Tyler" he said and faced the laptop. Emily nodded and left.

* Emily was about sitting down when Sofia called her.

        

 " Emily" 

        

 " Yes" she answered and Sofia came closer to her.

        

 " Uhm, you're not busy right now are you?" She asked with a smile. Emily looked at her with a raised eyebrow. She's been working here for three days now and Sofia had never talked to her apart from the first day they got introduced. So why's she talking and smiling at her now.

        

 " Uh , yeah..am free for now" Emily answered and she nodded.

        

 " Good then can you help me get these items from the storage room I need them for something important" she said and gave Emily a piece of paper.

        

  " Uh, since am new here ...I don't think I can locate them by myself..."

        

 " Oh please Emily, am really busy now and the others as you can see they're busy as well...see some are not even here. You're the only one available" she said and Emily frowned.

        

     * What does she mean by that, is she saying am jobless* Emily thought. She collected the paper.

        

        " Okay, I'll get them" she said and Sofia smiled

        

 " Thanks then but please hurry up okay" she smiled and went back to her seat.

        

  * Wierdo* Emily scoffed before walking out of the office.

        

  Sofia turned to check if she had gone. She smirked immediately.

        

30 minutes later

" Where's Emily?" Ryan asked and everyone stood up immediately

        

" Uh, she she was here few minutes ago boss" someone answered and he frowned

        

 " Then where is she now!" He snapped and they all bowed thier heads. Sofia was shaking.

        

 " So none of you have any idea where she is?" Ryan asked again and Sofia raised her hand slowly

        

 " Boss I...I just remembered that...she went to the storage room to get some items" she said and Ryan looked at her

" She went there by herself...or you told her to"

        

 " No boss she volunteered to go..." She was still talking when Ryan stood in front of her with an angry look making her glup nothing

        

" Next time, don't ever send my PA again, " he said with gritted teeth and she nodded fearfully

        

" Ye_ yes boss" she answered and he glared at her before walking away.

*. " Where is it?, gosh this Is so frustrating" Emily sighed as she searched in vain. The storage was like a maze, it's so scattered that she hadn't been able to find a single item.She looked up and saw what she was looking for.

        

  " Huh, it's too high for me" she turned and saw a ladder stool that looked old, she placed it down and climbed it.

        " Almost...there.." she stretched her hand trying to get the item.

        " Got it!" She smiled when her hand grabbed it, she wanted to come down when the stool snapped.

        * Oh oh, * before she could open her mouth she found herself falling

        

" Ahhhhh! Ahhh!" She shouted and landed on something. She opened her eyes slowly and saw a pair of beautiful blue eyes staring down at her
