Dennis took the lead and Kelsey walked behind him. They strolled to the college registrar's office and while they were approaching the unit, they noticed how the three humans settled at the secretary's station were gawking at them like an appetising meal. The men had their eyes on Kelsey while the woman couldn't take her eyes off Dennis. Kelsey stopped at a corner, a bit far from the prying eyes of the people. She decided to wait for Dennis who had gone to meet the secretary. Dennis walked up to the secretary and flashed a smile. He presented his card to her. "I'm Dennis. The college registrar is expecting me. We spoke this morning." The middle-aged secretary glanced at her wristwatch. "He's having a brief meeting with the departmental heads right now. He'll be done in about five minutes then you can go in. He's expecting you too." Dennis smiled and moved to Kelsey. Her head was lowered and both her hands were on her handbag. "Are you okay?" Kelsey nodded repeatedly. "I'm good, j
Kelsey staggered up and was now on her feet. She felt a sharp pain on her forehead which caused her to groan slightly. She rubbed her forehead with her left palm tenderly and pressed her eyes against each other. She saw a girl about her age, standing before her, slightly groaning too. It was the girl whom she bumped into. Kelsey sighed and took steps toward the red-haired. She began to apologise. "I'm so sorry. I didn't see you. I was trying to stop the cab and... "Are you crazy?" the girl screamed at Kelsey. "Huh? Answer me. Are nuts? Can't you watch where you are going?" she thundered. Kelsey sighed and shook her head. "I didn't bump into you on purpose. I was rushing to get into the cab and before I realised it, I ran into you." she tried to explain. Kelsey watched as the girl's red lips parted. The girl cast her gaze to the ground and Kelsey's attention was drawn to the mess they created when they collided. The girl was holding her books in her hands when they bumped into each
As she watch the girl walkway, it then dawned on Kelsey that she had no idea about her saviour, not even the girl's name was known to her."Hey!" Kelsey screamed and ran after the girl. "Can you stop please?" The girl heard Kelsey screaming after her. She turned around and saw Kelsey running toward her. She stood still.Kelsey got to where the girl was standing. She was panting heavily. "Are you okay?" the girl asked."Yes, I'm good," replied Kelsey while struggling to catch her breath. "I just forgot to ask what your name is."The girl smiled. "It doesn't matter," she responded."Of course it does. I don't know whether I mentioned it earlier that my name is Kelsey." She extended her right hand to the girl. The girl smiled and took Kelsey's hand. "I know who you are, Kelsey."Kelsey was stunned. "You know me...I mean, you...You know who I am?" she stammered. The girl smiled and moved closer to Kelsey. "Of course, I know who you are?"Kelsey quirked her brow, trying to recollect whet
After they were done eating, Janet suggested that they relax in the restaurant for a while before they head out. Kelsey subscribed to the offer and they sat back. They talked for a while and when they were about to leave, Kelsey dipped her hand into her bag and pulled out some notes but Janet forced her to place the money back."I said it was my treat. Remember?"Kelsey smiled. She had eaten a lot and felt that the bill was going to be a bit high for Janet so she wanted to contribute."Why don't we go Dutch? "Janet smiled and shook her head. "You still want to pay?""I know it's your treat and I appreciate that offer but I'll appreciate it more if we split the bills," Kelsey replied. "Please?" she quickly added. Janet agreed with a nod and they collectively sorted the bills."Why don't I take you round the campus? I mean, a bit of sightseeing if you don't mind?" Janet offered immediately after they stepped out of the restaurant."That will be great. But only if you will take me to t
When Kesley woke up the next morning, she got dressed and moved to the dining room for breakfast. She was having a class in less than an hour. When she got to the table, she met Dennis eating silently. His lips were barely moving. She pulled out a chair. Dennis lifted his head and saw her dropping her bag on the dining table. He lowered his head and continued devouring his meal silently.Without uttering a word, Kelsey uncovered the bowls before her and decorated her plate with freshly baked cookies and two apples. It was evident that both of them were not speaking to each other. Each of them was waiting for the other to apologise first.Kelsey was stirring her tea when Dennis stood up. "Meet me outside. I'll drop you off at school." he offered without looking at her after cleaning his mouth with a napkin. Kelsey nodded in understanding. She hurriedly ate her breakfast and grabbed her bag. Dennis was already seated in the car when she got out. She opened the door to the back seat and
Immediately Kelsey saw Dennis walk into her room, She stood up and began taking steps toward him. A fake smile was plastered on her face. She hugged him tightly."Sweetheart, you are back," Kelsey said and gave him a peck on the right cheek. "Welcome home," she added.Dennis stood motionless and Kelsey blinked at him to go with the flow, signalling to him that Janet was watching. He cleared his throat and wrapped his arms around her."I miss you, my love," he said, faking a smile."Awwn" Janet screamed in excitement. She created applause. "You guys are so adorable," she commented.Dennis held Kelsey's face with both hands and kissed her forehead. "You look gorgeous."She faked another smile. "You don't want to ruin my makeup with your kisses," she commented and broke away from the embrace.Janet remained in her corner, adoring them. Kelsey walked up to her and held her right hand. She pulled her closer to Dennis."She's Janet. We met in college yesterday. I told you about her right?"
Dennis walked out of the house and joined Kelsey in the car. He mounted the driver's seat. Kelsey was stamping her left leg slightly.Dennis wrapped the seat belt around him and Kelsey did the same. He cleared his throat loudly and She thought he wasn't done scolding her."When we get to my parent's house, we must be of best behaviour." He said with both hands on the speedometer.Kelsey turned toward him. "You don't have to tell me that Dennis. I'm not going to march into your parent's home and start wrecking things.Dennis sighed. " By being of best behaviour, I mean we need to keep our act straight. We are going there as a couple right so we must act like one."Kelsey nodded. "I understand.""We have to prove to them that we are deeply in love to avoid any form of suspicion so we must be conscious of our words and gestures."Kelsey stopped stamping her leg. "Noted. So is there anything else I should know about?""My parents might ask you questions about me," Dennis said. "Well, I
Kelsey took the utensils to the table and spotted a vacant chair between Dennis and his brother Peter. She pulled the chair and sat after placing the utensils on the table."Help yourself!" Peter said and pushed a bowl before Kelsey. She smiled and uncovered a plate.Peter leaned over and whispered into her right ear. "Don't be shy because it's your first time in our home. Hunger has no emotions so relax and eat to your fill."Kelsey giggled and nodded repeatedly. "Peter, if you are going to crack a joke, you might as well yell it out so everyone can laugh." commented his father."That will be great. I mean, we all deserve to laugh too." Dennis responded.Peter smiled and passed the bowl of sauce his mother just handed him to Kelsey. "I just wanted miss pretty here to feel at home." he blinked. They all set their plates and were soon eating. "Ben, you don't want much sugar in your tea right?" Kate asked her husband."You know I like it Kate but you still went ahead and asked. Of cou
