Chapter Twenty Six

When Kesley woke up the next morning, she got dressed and moved to the dining room for breakfast. She was having a class in less than an hour. When she got to the table, she met Dennis eating silently. His lips were barely moving.

She pulled out a chair. Dennis lifted his head and saw her dropping her bag on the dining table. He lowered his head and continued devouring his meal silently.

Without uttering a word, Kelsey uncovered the bowls before her and decorated her plate with freshly baked cookies and two apples. It was evident that both of them were not speaking to each other. Each of them was waiting for the other to apologise first.

Kelsey was stirring her tea when Dennis stood up. "Meet me outside. I'll drop you off at school." he offered without looking at her after cleaning his mouth with a napkin. Kelsey nodded in understanding.
