Chapter Twenty Nine

Kelsey took the utensils to the table and spotted a vacant chair between Dennis and his brother Peter. She pulled the chair and sat after placing the utensils on the table.

"Help yourself!" Peter said and pushed a bowl before Kelsey. She smiled and uncovered a plate.

Peter leaned over and whispered into her right ear. "Don't be shy because it's your first time in our home. Hunger has no emotions so relax and eat to your fill."

Kelsey giggled and nodded repeatedly.

"Peter, if you are going to crack a joke, you might as well yell it out so everyone can laugh." commented his father.

"That will be great. I mean, we all deserve to laugh too." Dennis responded.

Peter smiled and passed the bowl of sauce his mother just handed him to Kelsey. "I just wanted miss pretty here to feel at home." he blinked.

They all set their plates and were soon eating.
