Kesley seemed so stunned for words, she couldn’t believe what Dennis was saying. How could he ask her to stop practicing with Peter. Wasn’t he the same person who said she could practice with anyone.“I didn’t hear you properly Dennis, what did you say?” She asked calmly, hoping that she probably heard him wrongly.Dennis straightened up on the chair and placed his right hand under his jaw. “I said I want you to stop practicing with Peter.”Kesley gave a slight cough and walked back to where Dennis is seated, she pulled out the chair adjacent him and sat down carefully, her confusion was boldly written on her face.“Why?” She asked.“Nothing at all, I just want you to stop practising with him.” Dennis replied scratching his hair as he spoke.Kesley didn’t believe him because it was obvious he was hiding something with how nervous he looked. “That isn’t a reason for me to stop practising with him, I mean why would I just stop practicing with Peter because of your supposed nothing?”“
Kelsey thought about taking her bath but she waved off the thought, she didn’t see the need to. After all, she didn’t have any plans for the day, she might as well take a rest. She danced lazily around her bed in search of her phone. She found it beneath her pillow, she didn’t remember putting it there but it was not a surprise, she had misplaced a lot of things in the past because of her foggy memory. She grabs the phone from the bed and hit the music. She sang along and swayed her hips to the beat of the music. She was not happy that she had to quit training because of Denis' bazillion reasons but she might as well make good use of her free time. Still moving her body to the sweet tunes of the music she was playing, she made it to the kitchen and made herself a cup of hot cocoa. She sipped from the cup slowly, savouring the transcendent taste of each sip, she took each sip so slowly and calmly like a goddess that was in no rush to do anything. After almost forty minutes of sipping
Peter broke the hug and Denis glared at him.“We’re here to train, not appease to people with bruised egos.” Denis said grabbing Kelsey's by the arm. Peter ignored his rude remark and turned to face Kelsey.“Good luck girl.” He said and patted her shoulders not moving from where he stood.“Thanks, I’m gonna need it.” Kelsey replied eyeing Denis. She shot Peter a pleading look, apologizing for Denis' behavior, Peter got the message and gave her an ‘it’s okay, I understand' look. It’s fascinating how people communicate just by looking at each other. Maybe one day, she’ll look at Denis and he’ll know what she’s talking about without having to ask.Denis dragged Kelsey away from Peter roughly, unintentionally hurting her wrist with his strong grip.“let me go.” Kelsey winced and Denis immediately let go of her arms.“You didn’t seem to have a problem when he was holding you.” Denis said quickly in defense and folded his arms like a child. He could just say sorry but nothing is ever simple
They got to the health center and Peter flung the door of the room open. Denis laid Kelsey on the bed gently and left the room so he could let the doctors tend to her.“She’ll be fine.” Peter said patting his brother on the back. He was shaking in worry. Denis nodded slowly, his eyes darting from one end of the wall to the other as he paced back and forth in a frenzy. About forty minutes later, the doctor came out of the room. He saw the look on the Alpha's face and gave a small smile. ‘No one is above everything after all', he thought to himself.“You can come in.” He said and Denis turned to look at him, he was too absorbed in his own thoughts that he didn’t realize that the doctor was standing in front of the door staring at him. He followed the doctor in nervously and Peter stayed behind.“Will she be okay?” He asked in a soft tone, which was very unusual of him. It shocked the doctor but he kept it to himself.“She'll be fine.” The doctor reassured and Denis let all the air he h
“Have you had anything to eat to today?” The doctor asked Kelsey while jotting down something on his notepad. Kelsey thought long and hard searching her memories for an answer to his question. She only remembers having hot Cocoa and munching on half a bowl of popcorn before Denis came to tell her to get ready for training, she hadn’t eaten any real food since last night when He told her that she had to dump Peter as her trainer and she couldn’t do anything about it, she had felt upset so she didn’t eat anything before she went to bed and she didn’t wake up with an appetite this morning either.“No, I haven’t. I didn’t feel hungry when I woke up.” she told the doctor and he bobbed his head up and down, still scribbling on his note pad.“What does it have to do with me fainting though?” Kelsey asked looking at the needle that connected her veins to the drip that was hung carefully on an iron rod next to her bed.“Your blood sugar level dropped a lot. Did you by any chance experience a
They both helped her up and Denis helped her to the car. He shut the food when she was seated inside comfortably and went back inside to get the drugs from the doctor. He hands the pack of drugs to Kelsey then starts the car. It took a few minutes for them to leave the driveway because of the other cars parked around it.Once the car hits main road, she looked outside the window and let the wind do it’s thing and mess with her hair. She watched as the trees danced to the tune of the wind and how the road sped past them. The road was free, there were only a handful of cars around. She pretended like she didn’t know that Denis was stealing glances at her. If he had something to say, he would say it, eventually.“I’m sorry.” He mumbled but she pretends like she didn’t hear him, she was tired of his half baked apologies and the fact that he always found a way to upset her again and again. It’s an endless cycle. “I said I’m sorry.” He said a little louder so she couldn’t pretend like sh
The next morning, Kelsey feels a lot better than she did yesterday so she decided to go to school. She looks at her face I the mirror, the bruise barely visible anymore and her eye no longer stings. Her head still aches but unlike yesterday, she can barely even feel it.She happily takes her bath and puts on her clothes. She remembers what the doctor said about her meals and she decides to go prepare something for herself before she leaves. As she walks down the stairs, she sights Denis with a tray of food and a frown on his pretty face.“Where do you think you’re going?” He snarled at her.“Uhhh....school.” she said inaudibly. “Huh?” Denis asked, his voice filling the room.“I said I’m going to school.” Kelsey said defensively.“No the hell you’re not!” he thundered and walk towards her climbing the stairs carefully because of the tray he was holding.”“Why not?!” Kelsey screams on top of her voice and Denis slowly closed the gap between them.“For one, you were about to leave the h
“Why are you happy to see me?” Kate said, narrowing her eyes at Denis suspiciously.“It’s Kelsey.” “What’s wrong with Kelsey? Is she okay?” Kate asked and her suspicious face quickly dominated with worry.“She’s been sick all morning and she’s had me go on endless errands. Her mood changes easily, one minute she’s smiling and the next she’s crying. One minute and the next she’s hot. Please help!”Kate smiled at her son's mini tantrum, she can’t remember the last time he ranted to her like this or even needed her help.“It can’t be that bad.” “It’s bad, it’s very very bad.” Denis said dramatically and almost peeled his eyes off. “Fine, I’ll help. Where is she?”“She's in her room upstairs and if she asks why I’m not there to give her a massage, tell her I died.”Kate laughed at her son's pathetic state. He looked haggard, he had an apron tied to his waist and stains and splatters of whatever he was cooking on his shirt. His hair looked rough and he was all sweaty, evidence that he’
