Chapter Ninety Nine

She fought the tears the entire drive home, she wiped them off as soon as they rolled down toher cheeks, similar to how a windshield wiper wipes rain from the windshield of a car in a continuous, tireless manner until the rain stops.

She pulled up in front of the house and used her steering as a pillow. Why could she never find happiness? Why did something always have to go wrong every time? Why?

She got out of the car reluctantly, almost losing her balance. She had cried so much she was physically weak. Emotionally wounded.

“Where have you been?, I tried calling but you didn’t take your phone. Do you know how worried I was?” Kelsey shut the door and turned to face him.
