CHAPTER 74

Claire’s POV

Three days earlier.

When Saturday approached, I woke up early and spent the morning getting ready for my date with Jake. I took extra care with my makeup, choosing a bold red lip and a smoky eye, and spent more time than usual on my hair.

Suddenly, my phone began to ring. I reached down and checked.

"Mtcheeww, this stupid girl; she doesn’t know when to stop.” I rolled my eyes.

Nora thinks that everything revolves around her. I put her number on a black list and continued getting ready.

As I slipped into that V-neck black dress and grabbed my purse, I felt a thrill of excitement. This was going to be a special night; I could feel it. Jake said so too.

When I arrived at his house, Jake was already waiting for me at the entrance. He looked handsome as ever, dressed in a crisp white shirt and dark pants.

“Hey, you look stunning,” he said, smiling at me.

I felt a blush creeping up my cheeks. “Thank you,” I said, feeling a little shy.

Over dinner, we talked about everything and
