I walked up to Rosella's door, a bouquet of flowers in hand, eager to see her smile. I had heard that she had been feeling down lately and I wanted to do something special for her. These past few days have taken a toll on all of us and I want to always remind her that no matter whatever we are going through, I would be always here with her.

But as soon as I opened the door, my heart dropped. She wasn't there. Her room was empty and silent, the only sound being the flowers rustling in my hand. Something about the way things were looking felt wrong, plus she didn’t tell me she was supposed to leave home today. I tried convincing myself that maybe she took a walk to clear her head or something.

Something about the fact that she could take a walk was unsettling and I wouldn’t be going with that story. I quickly walked around the room, checking every corner, every closet, every inch of the space. But she was nowhere to be found.
