FATED MATES?

“Who the fuck is Alaric?” Damon answered with a hint of confusion written in his face.

“Damon. She meant to say Damon,” Nadia cut in as she squeezed my arm.

“Yeah, I meant Damon,” I said with an awkward smile.

At this point the room was filled with tension and everyone remained quiet.

Calling Damon had made Madam Hildegard, Alaric and the Alpha weirded out.

“Uhm, how about Elizabeth and I go out and take a walk?” Nadia suggested.

It seemed Nadia was the voice of reason in this alternate reality. She seemed more responsible here.

“Sure, have fun girls,” Madam Hildegard said with a smile.

“Lead the way,” I said to Nadia.

We both walked out of the mansion to its gate. Nadia then took a look around everywhere to perhaps see if we were alone.

“Look, Liz, I understand it’s been long since you’ve been here but you have to stop calling people names that they aren’t familiar with. Your mum is getting worried,” Nadia said with a concerned face.

“Of course Nadia, I understand. It was just the stress of the travel and Damon looked like and old friend from my past,” I said trying to reassure her that there was nothing to be worried about.

“Alaric?”

“Yeah, how do you know his name?” I asked.

Nadia was probably deceiving me because how did she know Alaric’s name.

“Uhm, that’s because you mentioned his name genius,” She said as she tapped me on my forehead.

“Oh yeah, I forgot lol,”

“Seems your mind is really occupied,” Nadia said as she held my hand while looking at me with a friendly gaze.

“I just need some time to adjust though. How about you go inside while I take a look around,” I said while faking a warm smile.

“Sure, don’t get lost or anything,” Nadia said teasingly.

She walked back into the mansion leaving only me to think.

“If Hayley and Alaric are in this alternate world with different names, that means the moon goddess must have given me a second chance to get my revenge on them,” I said to myself.

I knew this was a second chance and I certainly mustn’t misuse it or spoil it.

I thought of how I could draft a plan to make them pay for betraying me and killing me.

“But first I need to get familiar to this new town,”I said to myself as I walked out of the mansion.

The sight infront of me was so unfamiliar. I had never been outside the woods in my past life and now I was standing in a civilized town.

“Storybrook,” I muttered as I stood infront of a wooden sign board that read ‘WELCOME TO STORYBROOK’

“That must be the town’s name,” I thought to myself.

I continued to walk when I saw another sign ‘THIS WAY TO THE WOODS.’

I got interested by the thought of being around trees once again so I followed the arrow printed on the sign board.

It was already dark when I had gotten to the woods. I took a deep breath as I ran my fingers through the leaves of a tree.

I felt at home as I inhaled the fresh air of the forest but just then I heard something snap the branch of a tree.

“Who is over there?” I called out.

There was an eerie silence that followed my question.

“I probably hallucinated hearing something,” I said trying to reassure myself that no one was in there with me.

As I continued walking, I heard a growl and that was when I knew I needed to leave.

I began to walk faster when all of a sudden a bear growled and began to chase me.

I began to run as fast as I could, I haven’t run that fast in my entire life.

“Help me!” I repeatedly cried out when all of a sudden I saw an arrow fly over me straight into the bear’s heart.

The bear fell to the ground and I stopped running to catch my breath. As I looked up, I saw the courageous man who had just saved me . He walked closer to me I could feel this sensation in my skin.

His scent was driving me crazy in a way that I couldn’t comprehend and once he got into the light, I couldn’t believe who I saw.

“Gregor?” I called out.

“Lol, No ma’am, the name is Diego,” He said with a charming smile.

How crazy could fate be? Sending Gregor to this alternate reality after what I had done to him in the past.

Part of me was happy he couldn’t remember the terrible things I did back when he was just a lowly omega.

“Nice meeting you, Diego,” I said with a warm smile as I shook his hand.

There was this feeling I felt the moment he came around me, this irresistible feeling almost as if we were…

“Fated mates,” he said. “I mean you can feel it right? I had a feeling my fated mate was in trouble so I decided to trace your scent and it led me here.”

I thought to myself about how The moon goddess probably wanted to also give me a second chance at love but why with Gregor? Not after what I did to him. If he were to find out he would never forgive me.

“Uhm, Diego right?”

“Yeah,”

“I don’t think I’m ready to be mates with anyone yet,” I declared and walked away from him quickly so that he wouldn’t draw me back.

That was the least I could do for him. I couldn’t let love or anything get in the way of my revenge. I couldn’t even decide to love him, not after what happened in the past.

I finally got back to my new home and was welcomed by Madam Hildegard.

“Welcome honey,” She said as she wrapped her arms around me. “You have no idea how much I had missed you since you left.”

“Me too mum. But I’m really exhausted, can I go to bed?” I asked.

“Sure thing love,” She replied before planting a kiss on my cheek.

I was finally able to leave her company to go to my new room. If I really wanted to get my revenge on Hayley and Alaric, I need to get used to this new life.

I mean it was weird calling someone else mum. After I had lost my own mother when I was three, but I will do anything to get my revenge.

I took off my clothes and checked my wardrobe for some pjs. I went into the bathroom to freshen up before finally settling on the bed.

“This is your new life Elizabeth, make the best out of it,” I said before I drifted off to sleep.

The next morning came in a breeze. I was awoken yet again by the nosy Nadia.

“Morning sunshine,” she said with so much enthusiasm.

“Well someone woke up happy today,” I said with a smile as I began to rub my black silky hair.

“Big day today,” she replied.

“Big day? what’s going on?” I asked with curiosity etched on my face.

“It’s festival day!!”

“What’s festival day?”

“It’s a traditional day where we sell things we don’t need,” she replied with so much enthusiasm.

“Okay then, let me get ready,” I said with a smile.

I knew I had to get closer to Alaric so this festival was the best option. I began to prepare for the event with Nadia’s assistance.

She just seemed so much different in this alternate world but that won’t stop me from getting my revenge.

We were finally done preparing so we set off for the streets. The streets were decorated with so many colourful ribbons, the sight was really beautiful.

Each family had a stand to sell their things, well not all families because Nadia and I don’t have anything to sell.

Just then Nadia spotted Alaric and waved at him.

“He’s so dreamy isn’t he?” she asked me teasingly.

It was so disgusting watching her drool over him even in this different world.

All of a sudden I saw Gregor standing besides Alaric.

“Who’s that guy standing beside Damon,” I asked as I took a bite out of Nadia’s popcorn.

“Oh that’s Diego Lockwood, son of the Alpha and stepbrother to Damon.”

I stood there in shock as I saw fate had brought a way for me to get my revenge right to my feet and I could smell a devious plan cooking up.
