I continued to look at Diego throughout the event till he finally caught my eye and walked up to me.
“I see I finally caught your attention, Diego,” I said with a charming smile. “It was hard understanding your look after you practically ran away from me yesterday,” Diego whispered into my ear. “Believe me it’s not like I meant to run away from you, I just felt overwhelmed,” I said as I tried to explain myself. I needed Diego for my plans. But asides using Diego as a means to an end, I actually felt something for him. I felt drawn to him. It was even worse as I watched him speak because my eyes couldn’t help but to play a slow motion of his mouth moving. “You feel it again right?” He asked me as he held my hand. “I actually do,” I said with a smile. “So why are you rejecting our bond if you feel it too,” he said as he stared into my eyes with his light blue eyes. I never noticed he had blue eyes back in my other life. We always bullied him back then but what I did to him was even worse than that and he must never find out. “Who says that I’m rejecting it?” I said with a flirtatious smirk. Just before Diego could reply, I pulled him by his denim jacket towards me and brought my lips to meet his. We began to kiss so passionately and the entire town began to watch us and cheer for us. I pulled myself out of the kiss and watched how Diego looked at me with a mix of pleasure and confusion. “That totally caught me off guard but I’ll like to do it again,” He said as he held my waist. “Maybe some other time in a more private place,” I replied with a smile. “Ahem,” There they were Alpha Jerone and Madam Hildegard, my mother. “So when did this unexpected union begin?” Mum asked. “Well we knew we were fated when I saved her yesterday from a bear,” Diego said proudly. “You sneaky little bitch!” Nadia exclaimed. “You didn’t tell me you knew Diego already.” “Sorry Nadia,” I said with a laugh. “Well, I’m guessing we have a mating ceremony to plan, right Jerone?” Mum said as she looked at the Alpha with a smile. “We sure do, Hildegard,” He replied her with a smile just as lovely as hers. There it was, my plan was slowly getting set in motion. I had found a way to get closer to Damon’s family and I sure as hell wouldn’t mess this up. * * * The day had finally come, my mating ceremony to Diego. I felt bad for using Diego as a means to an end but I had to ask myself if it was really a means to an end if I actually liked him. It was a new day, a promising day and I didn’t need any ill thoughts to ruin it for me. As I continued to ponder, I heard a knock on my door. “Come in,” I yelled. “Bitch, why haven’t you dressed up yet?” Nadia asked with a disgusted face. “I, uhm, just woke up,” “Well get your ass up girl,” She said while she practically chased me away from my bed. “Fine, I’ll do it now,” I said as I dragged my feet on the floor. “You’re so lucky to get one of the Lockwood boys. I can’t wait for the day I’ll have Damon as mine,” she said with dreamy eyes. I wasn’t interested to even hear what she had to say because her love for Damon in this world was a reminder of what I must do. I got into the shower and as the water began to pour on my face my head began to replay the violent death I went through. The pain of the blade going through my stomach and heart. The pain of watching the entire pack mock me. I finally finished having my bath and as I came out of the bathroom wrapped in my towel, I saw my mother, Madam Hildegard, holding a white lace dress. It was so beautiful, it was fit for a princess. “What’s that mother?” I asked. “Oh, it’s the dress I wore to I and father’s mating ceremony,” She replied with a smile. “Oh no, I don’t deserve this,” I tried to decline. “Nonsense,” she said as she dropped it on my bed. “Now dress up, we are running late,” she said before she left the room. Couldn’t argue with a woman whose daughter was about to be mated. Nadia and I finished preparing and together with my mum, we set off for the Lockwood mansion. We finally got there and Diego was wearing a black suit. Black was definitely Diego’s colour as I couldn’t keep my eyes off of him. The ceremony started and almost immediately we got to the part of the acceptance. “I accept you as my mate, Elizabeth,” Diego said with a smile. “I also accept you as my mate,” I said as I returned the smile on his face. Just then Diego pulled me closer to him and we began to kiss. The kiss felt more intense than usual. Even when Alaric was my mate it never felt this way. I wrapped my arms around his neck as we continued to kiss. The crowd began to cheer at us. As we pulled away from the kiss, we couldn’t help but look at each other so passionately. “Hope you know once I become Alpha you become the Luna of the pack,” He said. “Of course my love,” “Good, now let’s join them at the reception,” He said as he stretched his hand to lead the way. “You know what Diego? How about I join you there, I need to use the bathroom,” I said as I chuckled nervously. “Oh sure, do you know where the bathroom is?” “No, but I’ll ask,” I said teasingly. “Alright then. I’ll catch you at the reception, don’t delay,” he said as he joined the busy crowd. I needed to take a deep breath so that was why I decided to go to the bathroom. Just when I thought nothing could go wrong in my perfect day, one of the wires connected to the speakers, caught my heel leading me to fall. Just as I was about to reach the floor, I was caught by a gentleman who held me by the waist. As I raised up my head, I saw my greatest arch enemy, Alaric or should I say Damon. “Hello gorgeous…”Damon and I were lost in each other’s gaze almost as if he could remember our past.I found myself stuck in his eyes, those beautiful eyes that made me fall in love with him back in the woods. As I remained there, my mind immediately remembered the sharp feeling of the blade on my stomach which brought me back to present.“U-Uhm, thanks for the save,” I stammered as I got up from Damon’s arms.“Hmm,” He uttered as he let out a smirk.“What’s got you smiling,” I said as I tried straightening my dress.“Well, you look stunning I must say but isn’t my brother not meant to be the one rescuing you,” Damon said with a sly smile.“Oh save it Damon,” I snapped.“Oh hey guys,” Nadia cut in to our conversation with a happy smile.Seeing her happy irritated me so much. How could she be so happy after what she did to me?Even though I was in this alternate reality, I still wondered how Damon and Nadia couldn’t remember the evil that they had done.“Hello? Earth to Elizabeth,” Nadia said as she sn
“Uhm, did I do anything wrong?” Diego muttered as we separated from each other’s hold. “N-No, w-why do you think that?” I asked as I faced the ground, trying to avoid eye contact. “Let’s forget about it, okay? Let’s go back to the party,” He suggested as he flung his arm over my shoulder. “You know what?” I asked while removing his arm from my shoulder. “I think I want to go for a walk, how about I meet you where the coolers are?” “U-Uhm, sure I guess,” He replied in a doubtful tone. I tiptoed and inched closer and placed a kiss on his cheek. I watched him walk away and when he was finally out of my sight, I let a breath of fresh air. “Already sick of Mr goody too shoes?” A voice sounded from the dark. “W-who are you?” I stammered out of fear. “So you don’t know my voice already?” The voice teased. Out of instinct, I picked up a stick and held it forward, trying to look as intimidating as possible. “Stay back,” I cried out loud. Suddenly the person came out into the light
“I don’t understand what you just said Alaric,” I said, blinking my eyes frantically as I stood infront of everyone in our pack together with Alaric. Alaric, my boyfriend, my fated mate, had just dropped some sort of joke to me. Yes, it has to be a joke because there is no way Alaric could stand in my face and say this to me. “I believe you heard me Elizabeth,” He said sternly. “Heard you? No I didn’t. Are you joking with me?” I asked as I looked at him straight in the face. “I reject you, Elizabeth. I reject you! What is so hard to understand in those three words.” I stood still like a piece of furniture wondering where it had all gone wrong. Alaric and I have been the best couple amongst our peers since when we were preteens so where was this coming from. We were in good terms this afternoon, so why is he rejecting me? Especially infront of our peers in our pack. I began to blink my eyes as I returned back to present after hearing the entire pack’s laughter soundin
I opened my eyes and saw myself laying down in an unfamiliar bedroom. It was different from my room at the cabin, the one was much more girly. It was painted pink, with so many girly posters and the sheets were so soft. As I continued to observe the room, it dawned on me that I was just injured with a knife by Hayley and Alaric. “That’s weird,” I said as I placed my hand on my tummy expecting an injury there but instead it was perfect. No wounds nor scars. “What the fuck is going on and where am I?” I stood up to have a peak out of the window but I was greeted by an unfamiliar sight. There were roads. I wasn’t at the woods anymore. This was when I knew something was wrong. I wasn’t injured, neither was I at woods. “It must be a dream,” I thought to myself. “Maybe I should go back to bed and I’ll wake up.” I lay on the bed and threw the blanket over me. I shut my eyes trying to sleep but it didn’t work. “This isn’t a dream is it?” I asked
“Who the fuck is Alaric?” Damon answered with a hint of confusion written in his face. “Damon. She meant to say Damon,” Nadia cut in as she squeezed my arm. “Yeah, I meant Damon,” I said with an awkward smile. At this point the room was filled with tension and everyone remained quiet. Calling Damon had made Madam Hildegard, Alaric and the Alpha weirded out. “Uhm, how about Elizabeth and I go out and take a walk?” Nadia suggested. It seemed Nadia was the voice of reason in this alternate reality. She seemed more responsible here. “Sure, have fun girls,” Madam Hildegard said with a smile. “Lead the way,” I said to Nadia. We both walked out of the mansion to its gate. Nadia then took a look around everywhere to perhaps see if we were alone. “Look, Liz, I understand it’s been long since you’ve been here but you have to stop calling people names that they aren’t familiar with. Your mum is getting worried,” Nadia said with a concerned face. “Of course Nadia, I under
