“I don’t understand what you just said Alaric,” I said, blinking my eyes frantically as I stood infront of everyone in our pack together with Alaric.
Alaric, my boyfriend, my fated mate, had just dropped some sort of joke to me. Yes, it has to be a joke because there is no way Alaric could stand in my face and say this to me. “I believe you heard me Elizabeth,” He said sternly. “Heard you? No I didn’t. Are you joking with me?” I asked as I looked at him straight in the face. “I reject you, Elizabeth. I reject you! What is so hard to understand in those three words.” I stood still like a piece of furniture wondering where it had all gone wrong. Alaric and I have been the best couple amongst our peers since when we were preteens so where was this coming from. We were in good terms this afternoon, so why is he rejecting me? Especially infront of our peers in our pack. I began to blink my eyes as I returned back to present after hearing the entire pack’s laughter sounding all around me. This was so embarrassing. “Elizabeth? Did you hear me?” Alaric said has he began to snap his fingers right in my face. I knew I couldn’t let him go just like that, not after everything we’ve been through. “C’mon Alaric. I know you don’t want to do this,” I said as I grabbed his hand to hold. “You stupid bitch don’t seem to get it uhn. I do not love you Elizabeth and I do not want you as my mate so I reject you,” He said with his steely gaze on me. I stood on the same spot I had been since the first time he uttered the word rejection. But what came next, I wasn’t prepared for it at all. “You don’t seem to understand right? You’ll understand now,” He said. “Understand? What does he possibly mean,” I whispered to myself. “Come out darling, I’m sure Elizabeth wants to see you,” He said with a mischievous smile stretched ear to ear on his face. Everyone in the pack was curious to see who this “darling” was, but no one was as curious as me to know. Does that mean Alaric had been seeing someone else? I hadn’t even finished processing my thoughts when his “darling” came to join us. “Hayley?” I asked with my mouth practically opened. “Surprise surprise, sister,” she said before Alaric pulled her by the waist and gave her kiss. My world began to crumble as I saw my stepsister, Hayley kiss the only man that I have ever loved. I watched how they kissed so passionately and how the crowd looked so excited by the drama that was unfolding around them. They finally ended the kiss and faced me. “Look sister,” “It’s stepsister,” I corrected immediately. Agatha, Hayley’s mum, got married to my dad and shortly after, he died which left Agatha to take care of me. Deep down, I knew Hayley and Agatha hated me even as much as they tried to pretend but it all made sense now. They never liked me. I always knew Hayley was jealous of me that I was going to be the next luna of our pack since Alaric was the next Alpha in line, but going behind my back to be with Alaric was a blow I never expected. “I won’t take this from both of you,” I said. “You can’t betray me like this,” I continued with tears streaming down my face. “Awww, don’t cry. Your daddy isn’t here to protect you anymore,” Hayley said as the entire crowd burst into laughter. I couldn’t take it anymore, the mockery, the betrayal, everything. I had to leave. “I can’t take this anymore,” I said as I wiped the tears that ran down my cheek. “Then get out of here,” Alaric ordered. I gave Alaric one last glance before I finally walked away. I could feel the whole pack staring at me. Their stares felt like arrows piercing my skin. Immediately I left their gathering, I could hear them all laughing and shortly after they began to play music. Did my rejection really call for celebration? I knew they all pretended to like me but I didn’t know I was hated this much. I just wanted to be loved by everyone and look where it got me. I finally got to my cabin where I live together with Hayley. Agatha had gotten married to someone else so she moved out of the cabin. I wondered how Hayley and I would be living together after this betrayal. I picked up my father’s picture with tears pouring down my face. “Look what you’ve done, dad” I said as I fell to the floor to cry. “You’ve brought the devil to dine with me and it has taken everything from me.” I cried and cried. I felt like maybe blaming my father will ease the pain but to be honest it did nothing. All of a sudden I heard a loud bang on the door to the cabin. It was probably Hayley. “Why are you back here, has the celebration ended so soon?” I yelled out loud so that she could hear me. The knocking persisted and I had to stand up to open the door. I finally mustered the strength to walk to the door and open it. My eyes widened at who I saw after opening the door. “Hello sweetheart,” Alaric said with a flirtatious smirk. What was he doing here now? He had just rejected me so why is he in my house. “Go away Alaric,” I said as I tried to slam the door shut, but he just held the door. “Why don’t you follow me outside let’s talk,” he said. Alaric wanted to talk to me privately, maybe he saw that he made a mistake choosing Hayley. The thought of getting Alaric back brightened my mood and I decided to follow him outside. I followed him out and shut the door behind me. “So what do you want to talk about Ric?” I asked. “I made a mistake and I want you to please forgive me,” He said with innocence in his eyes. Part of me wanted to doubt him, I mean he had just rejected me about two hours ago, so what does he mean by it was a mistake. “Can I come and hug you Liv,” He asked with that same innocence. The other part of me just longed for my boyfriend to come back to me. “Sure Ric,” I said as I ran towards him and threw my arms around him. “It’s all going to be fine.” We continued to hug until suddenly, I felt this sharp pain in my stomach. Alaric pulled away and there it was, I saw him holding a knife covered in blood, my blood. With shaky hands, I reached for my stomach were lots of blood was gushing out. “What did you do?” I cried as I began to choke in the blood that came out of my mouth. I fell to the floor and I could feel life slowly slipping away from my body. All of a sudden, Hayley came to kneel by my body. “My regards to daddy dearest,” She said with a smile before she raised her hand and stabbed me with a knife.I opened my eyes and saw myself laying down in an unfamiliar bedroom. It was different from my room at the cabin, the one was much more girly. It was painted pink, with so many girly posters and the sheets were so soft. As I continued to observe the room, it dawned on me that I was just injured with a knife by Hayley and Alaric. “That’s weird,” I said as I placed my hand on my tummy expecting an injury there but instead it was perfect. No wounds nor scars. “What the fuck is going on and where am I?” I stood up to have a peak out of the window but I was greeted by an unfamiliar sight. There were roads. I wasn’t at the woods anymore. This was when I knew something was wrong. I wasn’t injured, neither was I at woods. “It must be a dream,” I thought to myself. “Maybe I should go back to bed and I’ll wake up.” I lay on the bed and threw the blanket over me. I shut my eyes trying to sleep but it didn’t work. “This isn’t a dream is it?” I asked
“Who the fuck is Alaric?” Damon answered with a hint of confusion written in his face. “Damon. She meant to say Damon,” Nadia cut in as she squeezed my arm. “Yeah, I meant Damon,” I said with an awkward smile. At this point the room was filled with tension and everyone remained quiet. Calling Damon had made Madam Hildegard, Alaric and the Alpha weirded out. “Uhm, how about Elizabeth and I go out and take a walk?” Nadia suggested. It seemed Nadia was the voice of reason in this alternate reality. She seemed more responsible here. “Sure, have fun girls,” Madam Hildegard said with a smile. “Lead the way,” I said to Nadia. We both walked out of the mansion to its gate. Nadia then took a look around everywhere to perhaps see if we were alone. “Look, Liz, I understand it’s been long since you’ve been here but you have to stop calling people names that they aren’t familiar with. Your mum is getting worried,” Nadia said with a concerned face. “Of course Nadia, I under
I continued to look at Diego throughout the event till he finally caught my eye and walked up to me. “I see I finally caught your attention, Diego,” I said with a charming smile. “It was hard understanding your look after you practically ran away from me yesterday,” Diego whispered into my ear. “Believe me it’s not like I meant to run away from you, I just felt overwhelmed,” I said as I tried to explain myself. I needed Diego for my plans. But asides using Diego as a means to an end, I actually felt something for him. I felt drawn to him. It was even worse as I watched him speak because my eyes couldn’t help but to play a slow motion of his mouth moving. “You feel it again right?” He asked me as he held my hand. “I actually do,” I said with a smile. “So why are you rejecting our bond if you feel it too,” he said as he stared into my eyes with his light blue eyes. I never noticed he had blue eyes back in my other life. We always bullied him back then but what I d

How could she be so happy after what she did to me?Even though I was in this alternate reality, I still wondered how Damon and Nadia couldn’t remember the evil that they had done.“Hello? “Uhm, did I do anything wrong?” Diego muttered as we separated from each other’s hold. “N-No, w-why do you think that?” I asked as I faced the ground, trying to avoid eye contact. “Let’s forget about it, okay? Let’s go back to the party,” He suggested as he flung his arm over my shoulder. “You know what?” I asked while removing his arm from my shoulder. “I think I want to go for a walk, how about I meet you where the coolers are?” “U-Uhm, sure I guess,” He replied in a doubtful tone. I tiptoed and inched closer and placed a kiss on his cheek. I watched him walk away and when he was finally out of my sight, I let a breath of fresh air. “Already sick of Mr goody too shoes?” A voice sounded from the dark. “W-who are you?” I stammered out of fear. “So you don’t know my voice already?” The voice teased. Out of instinct, I picked up a stick and held it forward, trying to look as intimidating as possible. “Stay back,” I cried out loud. Suddenly the person came out into the light
