Chapter Seventy-one

Alpha Michael's POV:

Of course, I knew she lost her mother at a very young age. Not so young because she was eighteen at the time according to Trenton. But we never really talked about it. It wasn't like we ever talked about anything in the first place so there was nothing much to expect.

But seeing her talk about her mother in this manner, I knew there was so much she hadn't let out. I knew there was a lot she wanted to talk about but chose not to. I saw it in her eyes, in the way she fidgeted as she spoke and all I wanted to do was reach out to her and take her hand in mine.

And when she broke down, I pulled her into my arms because all I wanted to do was comfort her, because I felt the same pain in my chest. I wanted to take the pain from her. I wanted to feel it more than she did and I did. I did feel the pain.

She sobbed against my chest, trembling and tugging at my chest as she cried harder. And never for once did my hold on her falter. I held her. I didn't
