Chapter 51

Asher pov

The weird look said it all which was that she wasn't ready to change. It was as if her mood was always changing every minute.

"Hey, you! If you needed money, you should have just said it. What's the meaning of me paying a fine?" Sophia said angrily, turning to the stranger.

"Sophia, you need to calm down. You need to take responsibility for your actions," I said, trying to hold her hand.

"Don't you dare tell me to calm down!" she said, waving off my hands.

"Sophia! Have you gone insane?" my mother yelled, her eyes glowing.

"Why is everyone blaming me? I wasn't the one who started the fight that night," Sophia said.

"Sophia, you're trying to create a war, which I'm trying to prevent here. You're a Luna, you need to know that - not causing it," I said angrily, pointing my finger at her face.

"Blah, blah, I know their type - the gold diggers," Sophia said, rolling her eyes.

My mother's face turned red with anger, and she took a step forward. "How dare you!" she exclaimed. "You're a Luna, and you should behave with dignity and respect!"

Sophia smirked, her eyes flashing with defiance. "Or what? You'll punish me? You'll take away my privileges? I don't care!" she spat.

I felt a bit of anger and frustration. Sophia was being unreasonable and stubborn, and she was putting our whole pack at risk. I took a deep breath and tried to calm down, but it was no use. I was furious.

"Sophia, that's enough!" I yelled. "You're going to apologize to our guest and to my mother, and then you're going to go to home and stay there until I say you can come out!"

Sophia's eyes widened in shock, and for a moment, she looked like she was going to defy me again. But then something seemed to click, and she nodded sullenly.

"Fine," she muttered. "I'm sorry."

But it was too late. The damage was done. Our guest looked offended, and my mother looked like she was about to explode. I sighed and rubbed my temples. This was going to be a long day.

"I'm sorry," Sophia repeated, her voice a little louder this time. "I was wrong to behave that way."

Our guest nodded, seeming to accept her apology. "Thank you, Luna," he said. "I appreciate your willingness to take responsibility for your actions."

My mother, however, was not so easily placated. "Sophia, you need to learn to control your temper," she said sternly. "You're a Luna, and you can't just lash out at people whenever you feel like it."

Sophia nodded, looking chastened. "I know, Mother," she said. "I'll try to do better."

I sighed, feeling a bit of relief. Maybe, just maybe, Sophia was finally starting to learn. But as I looked at her, I saw something in her eyes that made me feel uneasy. A spark of defiance, a glint of rebellion.

I knew that Sophia was not going to change overnight. She was still going to be stubborn, still going to push boundaries. And I don't think I was going to have to be patient, to work with her to help her become the Luna she was meant to be.

But for now, I just wanted to get through the rest of the day without any more drama. I turned to our guest and smiled. "Thank you for coming," I said. "I hope you can forgive Sophia for her behavior."

Our guest smiled back, seeming to accept my apology. "Of course, Alpha," he said. "I understand that Luna Sophia is still young and learning."

I nodded, feeling a load of gratitude towards him. "Thank you," I said. "I appreciate your understanding."

The three of us stood there, still, as he left. Then, my mother and I turned to Sophia.

"What?" Sophia said, widening her eyes in anger. "I have already apologized, what is it again?"

"Sophia, you are acting out of control, which is not acceptable," I said, my voice loud and commanding. "You are Luna, for crying out loud. Show some respect."

"Sophia, I am ashamed of you," my mother said in a low, angry tone.

"I have been very patient with you for the past three years, tolerating your behavior," I said, my face down in disappointment. "And I don't think I would be able to bear it anymore."

Sophia's face fell, and for a moment, I thought I saw a glimmer of remorse in her eyes. But then, her expression hardened again, and she crossed her arms over her chest.

"You're always so critical of me," she said, her voice dripping with resentment. "You never give me any credit for trying. I'm sick of being lectured and scolded all the time."

My mother took a step forward, her eyes flashing with anger. "How dare you speak to us like that?" she demanded. "We are experience and older than you, and we only want what's best for you. You would do well to show some respect and gratitude."

Sophia's face turned red with rage, and she took a step back, her eyes blazing with defiance. "I don't need your lectures or your criticism," she spat. "I can take care of myself."

And with that, she turned and stormed out of the room, leaving my mother and me staring after her in shock and dismay.

I let out a deep sigh and rubbed my temples, feeling a headache coming on. My mother turned to me, her eyes filled with worry and concern.

"What are we going to do with her?" she asked, shaking her head. "She's becoming more and more uncontrollable by the day."

I shook my head, feeling a bit of helplessness. "I don't know, Mother," I admitted. "I've tried talking to her, reasoning with her, but she just won't listen."

My mother nodded, her expression grim. "We need to take drastic measures," she said. "We can't just sit back and let her continue down this path. She's going to destroy herself and our pack if we don't do something to stop her."

I nodded in agreement, knowing that my mother was right. But what could we do? Sophia was an adult now, and she had to be held accountable for her actions. But at the same time, she was still my wife, and we couldn't just give up on her.

As I stood there, trying to think of a solution, I heard a faint noise coming from outside.
