Chapter 58

Asher pov

My eyes widened in astonishment as I beheld Sophia standing in front of me.

"Have you been drinking?" she asked when she noticed the broken bottles on the floor.

"What do you want?" I snarled.

Sophia's words were not true. "I'm not going to sit around and let everything we've ever struggled for slip away," she warned, pushing me into the room.

She strode over to me, eyes burning with purpose; I retreated from her, backward in the direction of the bed.

I could feel the intensity in her eyes as she walked up to me. She was out to have it with me over something, and from the look in her eyes, it was not going to be pretty.

 "Sophia, what is wrong?" I tried to stall.

But she would have none of that. "Don't play dumb with me, asher," she said in a low, even tone. "I know all about your little infatuation with Aurora."

Saying that, my guiltiness surged into my feelings, but I did the best to hold myself poised. "I have no idea what you are talking about," I lied, trying to sound as convincing as it got.

Instead, Sofia merely burst out laughing. "Don't lie to me, Lucian," she said. "I have seen the way you look at her. I have heard the way you talk about her. You are obsessed with her, and it's pathetic."

I felt the sting in her words but tried to defend myself. "That is not true, Sophia," I said. "I am just trying to support her. She is a talented businesswoman, and I believe in her."

But Sophia shook her head. "You're not fooling anybody, asher," she told me. "Least of all me. I can tell you want her, and it's tearing us apart."

Guilty, at least I realized that Sophia knew what was going on, taken by Aurora, and all was getting uncomfortable between them and toward my marriage too.

 "Sophia, I.", my voice started an attempt, and she cut him off.

"No, asher," she said, "I really do not want to hear it. All I wish to hear is this for you to understand: I will not sit back and watch you ruin our marriage over some minor little affair. If one cannot commit with me, well perhaps we are the ones that aren't meant to be."

A cold ran down my spine as the words of Sophia were still hanging in the air, while I knew I had to make up my mind, yet did not know which way it was right.

The closer Sophia came to me, the more I felt myself being guided backward onto the bed. My drunken eyes stared up at her, and then there was that serious look in hers that really caught me aback.

"Asher, I want you tonight," she huskily whispered, the hunger for fulfillment dripping from every word. "I want you to make me feel like a woman."

She placed her finger on my lips to shut me up while her other hand started undoing her clothes. Man, I was in for a wild night.

"Sophia, you want me now?" I asked, somewhat dumbfounded.

But she did not say anything, just nodded, staring at me.

Before I could say anything else, Sophia lay me down on the bed and mounted me. Her hands lay on my chest, and into my eyes, she shot her seducing stare. I was helpless, weak, and incapable of doing anything against her.

"Just lie still and respectful and let me," she whispered softly in that low voice, which sent running chills down my legs.

I nodded and released my drunken self to yield to the moment.

She just continued staring deeper into my eyes, while I drowned in the depth, her hands wandering over my chest coldly sent runs down my spine.

I tried to speak-to utter a word-but somehow, it was caught inside my throat. It was like Sophia's eyes were drilling my soul, helpless, and falling victim to the advancement.

She leaned into me, her lips brushing my ear. "Let go, Lucian," she whispered. "Let me take control."

I felt the spark of excitement mixed with a touch of fear. I had no idea as to what Sophia was up to, yet I couldn't refuse her.

She continued to murmur in my ear, tension melting in my body, and in one second, my resistance weakened to her touch. Waves and waves of pleasure ran through my body as Sophia's hands roamed on my skin.

Neither was I able to think nor reason out anything then, lost to the moment. I only knew it felt good, and Sophia was touching me with fire.

And if that was not enough to take it up a notch, Sophia's lips lightly caressed mine. Light, yet the sparks that ran down my spine sent a shiver down.

I lost myself in that kiss, yielding to the tenderness of Sophia. Everything was irrelevant; all that mattered was her and I, with our eyes lost into that moment.

The deeper the kiss, the more I became entranced. Sophia's lips were light and soft yet packed with a relentless strength one hardly knew how to resist.

I tried reaching my arms out to wrap them around her, pulling her closer to me, but she delicately pushed me away. "No," she whispered huskily into my ear. "Tonight, I'm in control."

I felt a run of coldness down my spine as Sophia's words sent my heart racing with excitement; I was in control, but there was something so strangely intoxicating about submission to Sophia's desires.

Continuing to kiss me, Sophia's hands wandered over my body, touching and teasing in all the right places. I found myself becoming aroused, and my body just seemed to go on automatic drive from the way Sophia was touching me.

And yet, despite the strength of that instant, this was something gnawing within me that this wasn't right, and Sophia was driven by something other than a simple need.

Then I looked into her eyes, only to be returned with passion and fervor. I knew then I would be powerless before her.
