Asher pov

There was a bit of murmur all over the room, as the elders began to talk to each other. I just stood there, staring at each of their faces.

"What is it now?" I asked, looking frustrated.

"My alpha, you are our alpha and we all respect and support you," one of the elders said, "but also, Sophia is our luna and a pregnant one at that. So, if this investigation would affect her in any way, we would be very honest with you, we wouldn't support you, because she is carrying the future of the pack."

From his words, I then understood that despite their agreement with me, Sophia was still having an effect on them. It was clear that her pregnancy had changed the dynamics, and the elders were now more cautious in their approach. Since that day, I had realized that Sophia's influence went deeper than I had initially thought.

I felt a surge of frustration and concern. I had not anticipated that Sophia's pregnancy would have this kind of impact on the elders. I had thought that they woul

Asher pov"I know what you've been doing, elder vincent," I said, my voice firm. "I know you've been working with Sophia behind my back."Elder Vincent's eyes widened, and he took a step back. "Alpha, I...I can explain," he stammered."Explain?" I repeated, my voice rising. "You've been betraying me, vincent. You've been working with my enemy. How can you explain that?"Vincent looked down, his eyes avoiding mine. "I was just trying to protect the pack, Alpha," he said. "Sophia promised me that she would help us, that she would make sure our pack was safe and prosperous."I laughed, a bitter sound. "You believed her?" I asked. "You believed Sophia, of all people?"Vincent looked up, a hint of defiance in his eyes. "I did what I thought was best for the pack, Alpha," he said. "And I would do it again if I had to."I shook my head, feeling a sense of disappointment and betrayal. "You're no longer a member of this pack, vincent," I said. "You're banished, effective immediately."Vincent'

Asher povI felt a surge of anger and frustration at my mother's words. Didn't she care about the truth? Didn't she care about the harm that Sophia could be causing to the pack?I took a deep breath and tried to calm myself down. I knew that my mother was only trying to protect the pack, but I also knew that she was being naive. Sophia was not what she seemed, and I was determined to expose her for what she truly was.I looked over at my personal guard, who was watching me with concern. "What did she say?" he asked, as I hung up the phone.I shook my head and said. "She wants me to drop the investigation into Sophia's activities. She says that Sophia is carrying my baby and that we can't afford to upset her."My guard eyes widened in shock. "But that's not true, is it?" he asked. "I mean, Sophia is not really carrying your baby, is she?"I nooded my head. "Yes, she's is. But my mother knows that. And she believes Sophia's lies, and she's willing to do whatever it takes to protect her.

Asher pov Sophia entered, going straight to sit on the bed. I turned, looking at her angrily. "Why are you here? I thought I left the room for you?" I asked."Asher, why are you doing this to me? Even if you hate me, at least show respect for the baby inside me," she said, making eye contact with me."Sophia, you are evil and you know it," I said, my voice heavy. "I don't know your motive, but I am determined to stop you. You forced me that night to make love with you because I was drunk. Now that you are pregnant, you are using it to gain power for yourself.""Asher, I want us to stop all of this," Sophia said, her eyes narrowing. "The truth is, I want you to be my alpha and I want to be your luna. I don't want to share you with anyone.""Share me with anyone? What do you mean?" I asked, looking confused."Yes, you know what I am talking about," Sophia said, her voice dripping with malice. "Aurora? Does she ring a bell in your head? Or should I remind you of the slap she gave me? No

Aurora pov It had been about a week since Asher and I met at that event. I could still remember his words. I was mute, but my heart poured out my words. I had to push those feelings aside and focus on my company, which I had already built to great heights. As I sat in my office, staring out the window at the bustling city below, my mind began to wander back to Asher. I couldn't believe the connection we had shared, despite my inability to speak. It was as if he had seen into my very soul.I shook my head, trying to clear the thoughts. I had worked too hard to build my company from the ground up to let distractions get in the way. But as I turned back to my desk, my eyes landed on the small, intricately carved wooden box that Asher had given me.I opened the box, revealing the beautiful silver necklace inside. It was a stunning piece, with delicate filigree and a small crystal pendant. I ran my fingers over the necklace, feeling a shiver run down my spine, it was gift from one of my f

Aurora pov I felt a shiver run down my spine as Asher's words hung in the air. The entire pack in danger? What could Sophia possibly be hiding?I looked at Asher, searching for answers. His expression was grim, his jaw clenched in determination."What makes you think Sophia's hiding something?" I wrote, my hands trembling in fear.Asher hesitated, his eyes scanning the surrounding area before focusing on me. "I've been noticing strange behavior from her. Secret meetings, whispered conversations... and then there's the fact that she's been acting increasingly erratic."I frowned, my mind racing with possibilities. Sophia's behavior did sound suspicious."And what do you think I can do to help?" I wrote, my curiosity getting the better of me.Asher's eyes locked on mine, his gaze intense. "Like I said, I need you to pretend to be interested in me again. To make Sophia believe that we're rekindling our relationship. Can I count on you, Aurora?"I hesitated, unsure of what to write. Asher pov The night ended as I stood in front of the restaurant, watching as her driver drove her off. With a little faded smile, I waved to her. It was like a dream which was Aurora, the one person I never thought this would happen with, just did.I walked to my car as my phone rang. It was my mother."Why would she be calling me at this time?" I thought."Hello, Mother," I said, answering the call."Asher, what is this I am seeing? All these pictures...?" my mother said, her voice heavy and angry."What pictures are you talking about?" I asked, curiosity filling my thoughts."A picture of you and Aurora in a restaurant, having dinner. I don't understand - is this an old picture or what? Aurora... for over how many years ago... about five years ago, I guess," she said, confusion filling her words."Mother, calm down, I can explain," I said, my voice trembling."Come to my place right away and explain!" she yelled.I sighed, rubbing my temples as I tried to ward off the impending hea

"I'll be fine, Mother. I can take care of myself."My mother raised an eyebrow, a hint of skepticism in her voice. "Can you, Asher? Can you really take care of yourself when it comes to Aurora?"I felt a surge of defensiveness, but I knew my mother was just trying to protect me. "Mother, I'll be fine. I promise."My mother nodded, seeming to accept my reassurance. "Alright, Asher. Just be careful, okay?"I nodded, feeling a sense of relief wash over me. "I will, Mother. Thank you for worrying about me."My mother smiled, her expression softening. "That's what mothers are for, Asher. Now go, and be careful."I nodded, turning to leave. What kind of leverage did she have over me?Suddenly, she taped me to bring me back to reality, and I turned to see Sophia's eyes staring at me a menacing look on her face."I think it's time for you to cooperate, Asher," Sophia said, her voice dripping with malice. "You're not going anywhere until we settle this."I realized with a jolt of fear that I was trapped, and Sophia had the upper hand. I had to think fast, to come up with a plan to escape and clear my name. But for now, I was at Sophia's mercy.I looked at Sophia with a strange look. "Sophia, you are getting insane, and I would not be a part of what you're doing," I yelled, standing up."Calm down, Asher," she said, her voice low and even. "This love... it just looks like I'm the one putting all the effort here," she added, bowing her head in anger.I took a step back, shocked by Sophia's words. "Love? You call this

Asher povIt was raining. I was standing in front of the window, at the window, looking outside, as my heart shuddered to every boom of the rainstorms. I was standing with the twins. I was looking away from outside, at something, to looking at them, and their eyes were distorted in fear. They were afraid of the rain. I breathed as I moved towards them."Hello, children, don't fear. I am here with you," I whispered, stooping down to their level."We want our mummy," responded one of the twins, his voice shaking and pathetic."Don't fear, you will meet your mummy soon, and we will stay together," I said, trying to smile."We don't know you, sir. We want our mummy!" both of them shrieked at the same time."Shut up you two, okay? You're driving me crazy here," I shouted back, banging my head. But shouting didn't appear to be doing any good, for they persisted, but louder. Their din, combined with the anger of the thunderstorm, was tightening the whole atmosphere in the room.Suddenly, and

Aurora povMy guard, who was sitting beside me, seemed to sense my unease. He placed a reassuring hand on my arm. "We'll find them, Aurora," he said, his voice low and steady.I nodded, taking a deep breath. I had to stay focused. For the twins' sake, I had to stay strong. Before long, the plane began its descent into the alpha's city. Aurora povAll my efforts to threaten Asher, to see if he was the one who kidnapped my twins, had been in vain. My patience was fading away, and I needed to find a way to get them back. With each passing day without my twins, my frustration grew.As I dwelled in my misery, my phone rang. I was surprised to hear the voice on the other end. "Hello, Aurora. It's been a while," he said, his voice loud and clear."Yes, it has," my guard replied, coughing after speaking. "Aurora, I heard what happened to you. I know it's been hard for you these past few days," the alpha said, his voice low and sympathetic."Thank you," my guard said, reading the words I wrote on my notepad. "I'm sorry I didn't inform you. I had a lot on my mind.""I understand," the alpha replied. "Who would blame you? I was paid a visit by Alpha Asher. He was the one who told me about the kidnapping of your twins. That was the main reason he came here.""Asher was in your city?" my guard asked, sounding surprised. "And he

Asher povI decided to close the paper, not wanting to know what was on it. I stormed out of the house, driving out as if I was like a thief. We went straight to where I hide my twins, and with every turn I made, I looked at my rearview mirror on my car to check if I was being followed. As I drove, my heart was racing with anticipation and fear. I couldn't shake the feeling that I was being watched, and the thought of being followed sent a chill down my spine. I glanced at my rearview mirror again, but saw nothing out of the ordinary. Still, I couldn't relax, my senses on high alert as I navigated the winding roads. Finally, I arrived at the safe house, a nondescript building nestled in a secluded area. I breathed a sigh of relief as I pulled into the driveway, feeling a sense of security wash over me.I turned off the engine and sat for a moment, collecting my thoughts. I had been hiding my twins here for days now, and it was starting to feel like a permanent solution. But I knew it

Asher povI spent the rest of the day with Sofia, trying to reassure her that everything would be okay. But the guilt was eating away at me, making it harder and harder to keep up the act.As the sun began to set, I knew I had to get out of there before I cracked under the pressure. I made an excuse about needing to check on some pack business, and Sofia nodded understandingly."I'll be fine," she said. "I'm just going to rest for a bit."I nodded and smiled, feeling like a traitor. As I left the guard's quarters, I couldn't shake the feeling that I was walking further and further down a path from which I might never return.I made my way back to my own quarters, my mind racing with thoughts of Sofia, the baby, and Aurora. I knew I had to come up with a plan to deal with Aurora once and for all, but I was running out of time.As I entered my quarters, I was greeted by the sound of my phone buzzing. I picked it up, hoping for a distraction from my thoughts. But my heart sank as I saw t

I couldn't let Aurora get to me, and I couldn't let Sofia's pregnancy complicate things further.I decided to focus on one thing at a time. First, I had to make sure Sofia was safe and healthy until she gave birth. Then, I could deal with Aurora and figure out what to do about the twins.I felt a sense of determination wash over me. Asher pov I waited for a few moments, my senses on high alert, but there was no further noise. I let out a slow breath and relaxed slightly, thinking that maybe I had just imagined it.But then, I heard it again. This time, it was louder and closer. It sounded like footsteps, crunching through the underbrush outside the cabin.I motioned to my pack members to get into position, and we all moved quietly to the windows and doors, ready to defend ourselves if necessary. The footsteps got closer and closer, and then, suddenly, a figure appeared at the window. It was a woman, and she looked frantic."Alpha Asher," she whispered urgently. "I need to talk to you."I recognized the woman as one of Aurora's office personnel, and my instincts told me to be cautious. But there was something in her eyes that made me trust her, at least for the moment.I nodded, and motioned for her to come inside. She slipped in quietly, and I could see that she was shaking with fear."What is it?" I asked her,

Asher povMy mother nodded, tears streaming down her face. "I understand, Asher. I'm so sorry for what I did. I promise to never interfere in your life again."I looked at her, searching for any sign of deception. But all I saw was genuine remorse."I want you to leave the pack, Mother," I said, my voice firm. "I want you to go somewhere and reflect on your actions. Maybe then you'll understand why what you did was so wrong."My mother nodded again, this time with a hint of sadness. "I'll go, Asher. I'll leave the pack and give you the space you need."I watched as she turned and walked away, feeling a mix of emotions. I was relieved that the truth was finally out, but I was also sad that my mother had sunk so low.As I stood there, holding my twins close, I knew that I had to move forward. I had to focus on rebuilding my relationship with my children and making sure they were safe and know me.I looked down at my twins, who were looking up at me with big, curious eyes. "Let's go home

I was trying to protect our family's reputation.""By kidnapping innocent children?" I asked, my voice rising in anger. My mother took a step forward, her hands clasped together. "I know it was wrong, but I didn't know what else to do. Sofia is getting suspicious, and I knew it was only a matter of time before she found out about your children with Aurora."I shook my head, feeling a wave of disgust wash over me. "You should have trusted me to handle it, Mother. You should have trusted me to protect my own family."My mother's eyes filled with tears, and she fell to her knees. "I'm sorry, Asher. I'm so sorry. I was blinded by my own fears and doubts."I stood there, looking at my mother, feeling a mix of emotions: anger, disappointment, and sadness.
