Asher pov

Morning light crept inside the room, the passion of the previous night still fresh. I woke with a pounding headache-the remnants of the hangover still there. Lying beside me was Sophia, and a sly smile grew on her lips.

"Good morning, my alpha," she whispered, very low and seductive.

I rubbed my temples, trying to ease the pain. "What was last night all about?" I asked, my voice filled with confusion and curiosity.

Sophia took a deep breath before responding. "I'm the luna, and I know what my alpha needs at any given time."

I raised an eyebrow, incredulous. "Sophia, I know that, but your behavior last night was unlike you. You didn't use protection or your pregnancy prevention pills. What's your game in all of this?"

Sophia's smile never wavered. "Don't start this morning, asher. I know you enjoyed the passion, and I did too. Let's not spoil the moment. And if you're not satisfied, we have plenty of time this morning."

I caught her hand, which was reaching to touch my chest. "I was drunk last night, Sophia. That's why you had the opportunity. It won't work this time."

Sophia rolled her eyes, flashing a streak of irritation on her face. "Fine, but I still had my way last night, and I'm okay with that."

I looked into her eyes, my face serious. "Sophia, whatever games you're playing, please don't involve me."

Sophia shrugged, an image of unconcern etched on her face. "Whatever."

As she got up to dress herself, I couldn't but notice the strange behavior she was putting up. First, she had followed me to the event without letting me know, and then she had given herself to me without protection, which wasn't like her.

"Sophia, no games, please," I told her firmly.

She turned to me, a sly glint in her eye. "Dear alpha, don't take it seriously. What happened last night was just to apologize for my wrongdoings in the past."

I looked at her with a raised brow, unsure how to take such words.

I searched for her expression in her tone. She spoke with such genuineness in her voice yet, somehow, one could not help but feel there was more within what she has said than the eye could have met.

"Sophia, what do you mean by 'wrongs'?" I asked cautiously.

She flipped her hand toward me in a flippant-like action. "Nothing, asher. Just forget it. It is nothing important."

I frowned; to me, she sounded like she was holding something from me. Before I had any other chance of reacting either way, trying to question her further on that, she did a quick turn and all but ran, causing more questions with no answer.

One watched her walking away, then this uncanny feeling spread through-something was not exactly right with Sophia's behavior; some voice deep in the guts whispered that she used me for her purpose.

I threw off the covers, bounded out of bed, and set out to finally settle all of this. Yet again, by the time I reached the bathroom for my shower, what stuck was the same ole trap about walking into an ambush.

The rest of the day was a big blur, just trying to piece together exactly what Sophia pulled; and with every passing minute that I spent considering it, the more perplexed I appeared to be. Of course, this would last deep into the night when anything even remotely resembling the slightest shred of an explanation might start to begin through reception of an incoming mysterious text.

"Meet me in the lobby at midnight," it said. "Come alone."

I scrunched up my face, trying to fathom who could have sent such a message, but as my gaze strayed back to the words glowing onscreen, I knew I was tumbling into an endless net of deceit and betrayal.

I reread the message once again. Cold shivers went up and down my spine. Who is this? What is the intention of that person behind contacting me?

The effort was there on my part, but the words wouldn't keep still in my brain and refuse to be communicated. And the night, dreary in a dragging hour that feels unending, my uneasiness rising higher and higher as my glances at time became incessant.

Weirdly, my legs knew the way; at midnight, I found myself walking down towards the lobby. My heart pounded as I looked around and realized that the place was deserted, save for a figure leaning against the shadow of the wall.

He took a step forward as I drew closer, showing me a man with emerald piercing eyes. I have never seen him before.

"What is it?" I tried to say, as steady as possible.

"I've been watching you, young alpha," he said in a low husky voice oozing insinuation. "I know all about your marriage-your business dealings-everything."

A chill ran down my spine. "What do you want from me?"

He smiled. His eyes glittered bright with mirth it seemed. "I want to show you something," he said, reaching into his bag to pull out a small folder. "Something that will change everything."

I had demurred, at a loss for what to do. But then, there was something in her words that stirred this chord of curiosity in my mind. I took the folder from him; my heart was pounding with anticipation.

As I opened it, a shocking revelation came before my eyes and turned my life around forever.

It was some revealing documents about Sophia's dealing for over three years, showing she had been secretly building herself an empire using the pack's money. I knew of the luxury lifestyle-being on the pack tab, partying, and buying expensive things-but using it to fund herself to the top, that was new.

"Where did you get this?" I asked.

"I did much research, and let's just put it as unknown," he said.

"How sure are you about all this then?" I flew the folder on his face.

"If you're not sure that when you get back to your city, confront her and see her reaction. With that, you would see enough reason to know that I wasn't lying, and my source is real," he said, followed by a deep breath.

"Alright, now, and don't play games with me. If I find out what you're telling me is false, I will find you, wherever you are. And believe me, you would know what type of alpha I am truly," I said firmly.

"You don't need to tell me, I know exactly who you truly are, and I can't dare cook up stories for you," he stuttered.

"Just let me believe you for now and accept, but why are you doing this?" I asked, while my facial expression showed the confusion in my head.

"Let me just say, me and Sophia have a long history in the past," he said.

"What type of history?" I finally stammered out, but before I could get the words out, some noise behind made me turn back. I looked in the rear, and it was nothing. Turning back to him, he too was gone. Everywhere I looked, he was nowhere to be seen.

Aurora’s POV. I walked out of the hospital with the paper in my hand. I had to walk towards a vacant seat which was designed for patients in the hospital to sit and receive fresh air. I sat slowly, as I opened the paper with trembling hands, and glanced through it. Slowly, the look on my face was replaced with that of shock. “What?” I thought as I glanced all over the paper for the umpteenth time. “I’m pregnant,” I thought with wide eyes, wondering why I became pregnant now. I became confused if it was possible to let my husband know or if I could hide it from him. “Asher wouldn’t be happy about this, I’m so sure about it,” I said to myself, still glancing at the paper before I slowly folded it back and returned it to the envelope. I decided to walk home slowly so I could also sort my thoughts. Staying in a marriage where I didn’t feel loved was enough to shatter my heart every day, but I still didn’t have the right to leave. Asher just hated me because the moon goddess fate

Aurora’s POV. I wiped my eyes, as I stood up slowly, walking out of her presence. I headed to the kitchen so I could find somewhere to fix myself in, but there were a good number of maids busy in the kitchen, so I sought within myself to check the hall. “I could help with the decorations,” I thought, and quickly walked to the hall. There weren’t a lot of people there, so I quickly went to assist the servants in decorating the hall. A servant was with a ribbon, and I took the ribbon so I could design it just the way she was doing hers, but was beyond shocked when the servant shoved me. I glared at the lady to know if she did it by mistake, but I was taken aback when she mocked me. She said, “I always wonder why our competent Alpha brought a mute like you as our Luna, and I’ve always tried my best to avoid you. I just don’t know why you keep showing your face in our business,” A servant said, and I knew deep down that I wasn’t going to take that one. I straightened my posture an

Aurora’s POV. I stared at myself in the mirror, and a light smile crept on my lips as the rays of the morning sun shone directly on my face. I was preparing to go to work at the cafe as usual as I hummed a song and walked out of my room heading out of the mansion. I walked to the cafe which wasn’t far from where the mansion was and met Nora, cleaning with a bright smile on her face. I smiled to myself as I thought, “Such a nice boss,” “Hey welcome Aurora,” She called out the moment she saw me with a bright smile that I returned with a nod. I stood in one corner with my gaze on Nora as I admired her. Nora was such a beautiful lady, that at times, I was often mesmerized by her appearance. I kept on admiring her with a smile on my face as I remembered things Nora had done for me. She has constantly supported me, even when I had no one. She was like the big sister I never had, as she always shielded me from unnecessary troubles. She is the only one who cares about me and I reall
