Aurora's pov

I tried to shake off his grip, but he held firm. but trembling slightly.

The alpha's eyes narrowed. "You're not going to just walk away from this," he said. "We need to talk."

I tried to struggle, but he was too strong. He pulled me back into the room, the reporter and the other guests watching in silence.

The alpha dragged me to a private corner, blocking the people behind us. "What's going on?" he demanded, his eyes blazing with anger. "Why didn't you tell me you were pregnant?"

I stood tall, trying to keep my composure steady. "I didn't think it was any of your business," I wrote.

The alpha's face turned red with rage. "Not my business?" he repeated. "You're carrying a child, and it's not my business?"

I shook my head. "Yes I'm carrying my child," I wrote, showing him to his face, as my hand shaking.

The alpha's eyes narrowed. "Don't lie to me," he growled. "I know but it is a child you carrying. And I'll do whatever it takes care of it, since you are a loner in this c

Aurora's pov It was looking as if the alpha was trying to control my life. I wasn't satisfied with it. Yes, I know I did bad not telling him about the pregnancy. And, moreover, speaking of the pregnancy, I am not convinced enough about what you are telling me, nurse, the alpha said, scaring at the nurse, raising an eyebrow."I don't understand," the nurse asked, looking confused. "I have already confirmed to you; what more do you want, my alpha?""How am I sure this isn't a plan worked between you and Aurora?" the alpha asked. "Because, if I would remember very well, I caught Aurora and my beta together, as my beta was trying to make a move on her at her room. So, it can be that they can be having a secret affair with each other. She was just trying to pretend as she noticed I was coming," the alpha said.I widened my eyes in shock and surprise upon hearing those words from the alpha. How could he think this way of me, despite what the nurse told him?"My alpha, I don't think you sho

"Excuse me, I don't understand you?" he asked, interrupting the beta.I just stared at them as they spoke. The beta hesitated, looking at me before turning back to the alpha. "They're asking for the land near the old oak tree of your grandparents, my alpha," he said slowly. The alpha's expression changed, his eyes narrowing. "The old oak tree?" he repeated. "That's a sacred site for our pack. Why would they want that land?"The beta shook his head. "I don't know, my alpha. But they seemed really insistent on getting that land. They said it was essential for their farming."The alpha's face twisted in a dirty looks. "I don't trust them," he growled. "There's something more to this. I want you to investigate further, beta. Find out what they're really after."The beta nodded, looking determined. "Yes, my alpha. "Don't worry about it, dear. I'm just glad I could help. But seriously, you need to be careful. Aurora's pov The tension was beginning to increase, as the beta wasn't ready for anymore conversation. "I understand," I wrote, trying to look calm. "But I don't see how finding the person will change anything."The beta's expression turned grim. "It will change everything, Aurora. The alpha will not rest until he finds out who the father of your child is. And if we don't find him first, the alpha will assume it's me. Do you understand what that means?"I just nodded. Because I knew that if the alpha assumed the beta was the father of my child, it would mean disaster for the beta."It means the alpha will punish me, and possibly even exile me from the pack," the beta said, his voice low and serious. "And it will also put you and your child in danger. The alpha will not take kindly to being deceived."I felt fear at the beta's words. I had never intended for things to go this far. I had only been trying to protect myself and my child."What can we do?" I wrote, feeling a sense of des

Aurora's pov Despite pushing the feeling aside, it still kept disturbing me. It just seemed like the more I was trying to find a way out, the more I was multiplying my problems. Adding more lies wasn't the best idea I would have come up with, but the deal had already been done. I would have to face the consequences.I felt unease as the guilt settled in the pit of my stomach. Every time I thought about the web of lies I had spun, I felt like I was drowning in my own deceit. The beta's words kept echoing in my mind "I'll will find thr rapist no matter what it takes." But what if he didn't? What if the beta saw right through my lies?I felt a cold sweat break out on my forehead as I thought about the possibilities. I had never been a good liar, and now I was trapped in a situation where my lies could have disastrous consequences. As I walked around the room, I couldn't help but feel like I was walking on thin ice. Aurora's pov The guard's eyes locked onto mine, filled with a deep sadness. "You see, ma'am, the beta's anger against rape isn't just about justice. It's personal. And now, with your... situation, he's even more driven to uncover the truth."I felt a cold creeping all over my body as I realized the gravity of my actions. I had unwittingly dragged the beta's dark past into the spotlight, and now he was more determined than ever to uncover the truth. The guard's voice brought me back to reality. "Please, ma'am, you must promise me that you won't tell the beta that I told you this. He would never forgive me if he knew that I had shared this with you."I nodded, still trying to process the weight of the guard's words. I felt like I was trapped in a web of my own making, with no clear escape.I nodded again, trying to reassure the guard that I would keep his secret. He looked at me with a serious expression, then nodded and unlocked the door.As he opened the door, I saw the beta standing

Aurora pov I stood there, my heart pounding out of my chest, as they both stared at me. Waiting for me to start writing, I held my notepad tight to my chest, my finger tapping at the surface of the notepad, not knowing what to say, thinking of different things to say."I believe you have rested enough, Aurora," the alpha said, his voice raising in venom. "Time to start writing, because I can't accommodate a child, who we don't know who the father is.""You want to still bring that up again?" the beta asked."Yes," the alpha replied, "and moreover, you spoke something about Aurora hiding something. Is there anything I need to know?" The alpha asked, his eyes narrowing at me.Maybe the alpha knows about the beta's past, I thought to myself. I have to tell him to take the attention away from me.I opened my notepad to write: "Am sorry I was afraid to tell you, but I was raped."They both came nearer to read what I wrote."What?" the alpha exclaimed. "Am very sorry, I know how you feel.

"Sorry, my alpha," the beta said, walking away from us to a corner of the room.I turned to the beta, trying to hear his conversation, but all I could hear was just murmurs. A while later, he walked back to us, looking at us with a big smile on his face."It looks like my investigation is moving faster than I expected," the beta said. "Aurora, immediately after we spoke yesterday night, I called some of my sources, and they were able to get me some information which I would say would be quite useful for me.""Wait, you two spoke last night?" the alpha asked, looking confused."Just forget about that, my alpha," the beta said. The alpha turned to me, but I only gave a faded smile."My sources said they just caught two suspected rapists," the beta said. Asher povIt was raining. I was standing in front of the window, at the window, looking outside, as my heart shuddered to every boom of the rainstorms. I was standing with the twins. I was looking away from outside, at something, to looking at them, and their eyes were distorted in fear. They were afraid of the rain. I breathed as I moved towards them."Hello, children, don't fear. I am here with you," I whispered, stooping down to their level."We want our mummy," responded one of the twins, his voice shaking and pathetic."Don't fear, you will meet your mummy soon, and we will stay together," I said, trying to smile."We don't know you, sir. We want our mummy!" both of them shrieked at the same time."Shut up you two, okay? You're driving me crazy here," I shouted back, banging my head. But shouting didn't appear to be doing any good, for they persisted, but louder. Their din, combined with the anger of the thunderstorm, was tightening the whole atmosphere in the room.Suddenly, and

Aurora povAll my efforts to threaten Asher, to see if he was the one who kidnapped my twins, had been in vain. My patience was fading away, and I needed to find a way to get them back. With each passing day without my twins, my frustration grew.As I dwelled in my misery, my phone rang. I was surprised to hear the voice on the other end. "Hello, Aurora. It's been a while," he said, his voice loud and clear."Yes, it has," my guard replied, coughing after speaking. "Aurora, I heard what happened to you. I know it's been hard for you these past few days," the alpha said, his voice low and sympathetic."Thank you," my guard said, reading the words I wrote on my notepad. "I'm sorry I didn't inform you. I had a lot on my mind.""I understand," the alpha replied. "Who would blame you? I was paid a visit by Alpha Asher. He was the one who told me about the kidnapping of your twins. That was the main reason he came here.""Asher was in your city?" my guard asked, sounding surprised. "And he

Asher povI decided to close the paper, not wanting to know what was on it. I stormed out of the house, driving out as if I was like a thief. We went straight to where I hide my twins, and with every turn I made, I looked at my rearview mirror on my car to check if I was being followed. As I drove, my heart was racing with anticipation and fear. I couldn't shake the feeling that I was being watched, and the thought of being followed sent a chill down my spine. I glanced at my rearview mirror again, but saw nothing out of the ordinary. Still, I couldn't relax, my senses on high alert as I navigated the winding roads. Finally, I arrived at the safe house, a nondescript building nestled in a secluded area. I breathed a sigh of relief as I pulled into the driveway, feeling a sense of security wash over me.I turned off the engine and sat for a moment, collecting my thoughts. I had been hiding my twins here for days now, and it was starting to feel like a permanent solution. But I knew it

Asher povI spent the rest of the day with Sofia, trying to reassure her that everything would be okay. But the guilt was eating away at me, making it harder and harder to keep up the act.As the sun began to set, I knew I had to get out of there before I cracked under the pressure. I made an excuse about needing to check on some pack business, and Sofia nodded understandingly."I'll be fine," she said. "I'm just going to rest for a bit."I nodded and smiled, feeling like a traitor. As I left the guard's quarters, I couldn't shake the feeling that I was walking further and further down a path from which I might never return.I made my way back to my own quarters, my mind racing with thoughts of Sofia, the baby, and Aurora. I knew I had to come up with a plan to deal with Aurora once and for all, but I was running out of time.As I entered my quarters, I was greeted by the sound of my phone buzzing. I picked it up, hoping for a distraction from my thoughts. But my heart sank as I saw t

I couldn't let Aurora get to me, and I couldn't let Sofia's pregnancy complicate things further.I decided to focus on one thing at a time. First, I had to make sure Sofia was safe and healthy until she gave birth. Then, I could deal with Aurora and figure out what to do about the twins.I felt a sense of determination wash over me. Asher pov I waited for a few moments, my senses on high alert, but there was no further noise. I let out a slow breath and relaxed slightly, thinking that maybe I had just imagined it.But then, I heard it again. This time, it was louder and closer. It sounded like footsteps, crunching through the underbrush outside the cabin.I motioned to my pack members to get into position, and we all moved quietly to the windows and doors, ready to defend ourselves if necessary. The footsteps got closer and closer, and then, suddenly, a figure appeared at the window. It was a woman, and she looked frantic."Alpha Asher," she whispered urgently. "I need to talk to you."I recognized the woman as one of Aurora's office personnel, and my instincts told me to be cautious. But there was something in her eyes that made me trust her, at least for the moment.I nodded, and motioned for her to come inside. She slipped in quietly, and I could see that she was shaking with fear."What is it?" I asked her,

Asher povMy mother nodded, tears streaming down her face. "I understand, Asher. I'm so sorry for what I did. I promise to never interfere in your life again."I looked at her, searching for any sign of deception. But all I saw was genuine remorse."I want you to leave the pack, Mother," I said, my voice firm. "I want you to go somewhere and reflect on your actions. Maybe then you'll understand why what you did was so wrong."My mother nodded again, this time with a hint of sadness. "I'll go, Asher. I'll leave the pack and give you the space you need."I watched as she turned and walked away, feeling a mix of emotions. I was relieved that the truth was finally out, but I was also sad that my mother had sunk so low.As I stood there, holding my twins close, I knew that I had to move forward. I had to focus on rebuilding my relationship with my children and making sure they were safe and know me.I looked down at my twins, who were looking up at me with big, curious eyes. "Let's go home

"I know it was wrong, but I didn't know what else to do. Sofia is getting suspicious, and I knew it was only a matter of time before she found out about your children with Aurora."I shook my head, feeling a wave of disgust wash over me. "You should have trusted me to handle it, Mother. You should have trusted me to protect my own family."My mother's eyes filled with tears, and she fell to her knees. "I'm sorry, Asher. I'm so sorry.
