Aurora's pov
Days continued to passed, one evening as I was sitting in my room, I heard a faint knock on the door. I looked up to see the nurse standing in the doorway, a sly smile on her face.
"Hey, I brought you some more of those loose-fitting clothes," she said, holding up a bag. "But I also have some news. I overheard the alpha talking to one of his advisors, and it sounds like he's planning something big."
My heart skipped a beat as I took the bag from her. "What kind of something?" I asked, trying to keep calm as my curiosity was obvious judging from the way I was writing.
The nurse leaned in close, her voice barely above a whisper. "I'm not entirely sure, but it sounds like it has something to do with you. And the alpha."
My eyes widened as I felt a surge of fear. What could the alpha possibly have planned? And how could I protect myself and my unborn child?
What do the alpha wants this time and what is he planning? I wrote.
"To be honest, I don't know what he's planning," the nurse said. "And I'm sure he still doesn't know about the pregnancy. So, all we can do is wait and see what happens."
I knew the alpha wasn't one to give up easily. He was still pursuing me, and I needed to find a way to hide my pregnancy from him.
As the days passed, we gathered more information about the alpha's plans. It seemed he was organizing a party, but we couldn't figure out what kind of party it was or why it was specifically for me.
The day of the party finally arrived, and it was held at the city hall. The venue was filled with rich and famous people, and I couldn't help but feel curious. I had initially refused to attend, but eventually, I had to give in.
As the party began, I tried to talk to the alpha, but he ignored my notes that I have been sending to him and constantly changed seats whenever I tried to sit with him. It was his turn to ignore me, and I couldn't understand why he was behaving this way, especially since he had organized the party for me.
After a few hours, the alpha stood up, clicking his glass of wine to get everyone's attention. "Can I have everyone's attention, please?" he said with a smile.
The room fell silent, and I could tell from the guests' faces that they were all wondering why the alpha had organized the party. The alpha's eyes locked onto mine, and he began to speak.
"I know you're all wondering why I organized this party. But I want to bring to everyone's notice that it's because of this young lady here," the alpha said, pointing at me.
I felt my heart skip a beat as all eyes turned to me. What was the alpha planning?
The alpha's words caught me off guard. "No one should panic," he said, "but ever since she arrived in my city, I've been investigating her. I thought her muteness might be a ploy by our enemies. But as I watched her, I realized she's brought development to our city. She's started a business, and I'm proud of her."
The crowd erupted into applause, with some standing up. The alpha clicked his glass to quiet them. "Thank you, but that's why I need all potential investors and business owners to invest in her. I'm confident it will yield profits for all of us."
I was stunned, my eyes fixed on the alpha's smiling face. Many investors nodded in agreement, eager to follow the alpha's lead.
But then, a voice from the back of the room asked a question that left both me and the alpha in shock. "Is it because she's pregnant with your child that you're doing all this for her?" a female voice asked.
The alpha's expression changed from surprise to confusion. "Pregnant?" he repeated.
The voice responded, "Yes, it's obvious. We all have eyes." A young female reporter stepped forward from the crowd.
The alpha shook his head and said. "I don't understand what you're talking about."
The reporter persisted. "She's pregnant. Even if she wears a hundred loose clothes, her face gives it away."
The alpha's face turned red with anger. "With all due respect, I had no idea she was pregnant."
The reporter raised an eyebrow. "But you've slept with her before, haven't you?"
The alpha's voice rose in anger, as he said. "Excuse me, I've never touched her!"
The reporter's eyes narrowed and asked. "Then how do you explain the pregnancy?"
The alpha's face turned beet red. "I don't know!" he shouted.
The room fell silent, with all eyes fixed on the alpha's enraged face. I felt my heart racing, my mind reeling with the implications of the reporter's words.
The alpha's anger slowly gave way to a calculated calmness. "I think this is a matter for a private discussion," he said, his voice dripping with menace. "Not for a public spectacle."
The reporter stood her ground, her eyes flashing with determination. "The public has a right to know, Alpha. Especially when it concerns the well-being of a vulnerable individual."
I felt a angry towards the reporter, who was bravely standing up to the alpha's intimidation. But I also knew that I had to protect myself and my unborn child.
As the standoff between the alpha and the reporter continued, I slowly got up from my seat, my eyes fixed on the alpha's face. I knew that I had to make a move, to take control of the situation before it spiralled out of control.
With a deep breath, I began to make my way towards the exit, my heart pounding in my chest. I knew that I had to get out of there, to find a safe place where I could think and plan my next move.
But as I reached the door, I felt a hand on my arm, holding me back. I turned to see the alpha's face, his eyes blazing with a fierce determination.
"You're not going anywhere," he said, his voice low but threaten.
Aurora's povI tried to shake off his grip, but he held firm. but trembling slightly. The alpha's eyes narrowed. "You're not going to just walk away from this," he said. "We need to talk."I tried to struggle, but he was too strong. He pulled me back into the room, the reporter and the other guests watching in silence. The alpha dragged me to a private corner, blocking the people behind us. "What's going on?" he demanded, his eyes blazing with anger. "Why didn't you tell me you were pregnant?"I stood tall, trying to keep my composure steady. "I didn't think it was any of your business," I wrote. The alpha's face turned red with rage. "Not my business?" he repeated. "You're carrying a child, and it's not my business?"I shook my head. "Yes I'm carrying my child," I wrote, showing him to his face, as my hand shaking. The alpha's eyes narrowed. "Don't lie to me," he growled. "I know but it is a child you carrying. And I'll do whatever it takes care of it, since you are a loner in this c
Aurora's pov It was looking as if the alpha was trying to control my life. I wasn't satisfied with it. Yes, I know I did bad not telling him about the pregnancy. And, moreover, speaking of the pregnancy, I am not convinced enough about what you are telling me, nurse, the alpha said, scaring at the nurse, raising an eyebrow."I don't understand," the nurse asked, looking confused. "I have already confirmed to you; what more do you want, my alpha?""How am I sure this isn't a plan worked between you and Aurora?" the alpha asked. "Because, if I would remember very well, I caught Aurora and my beta together, as my beta was trying to make a move on her at her room. So, it can be that they can be having a secret affair with each other. She was just trying to pretend as she noticed I was coming," the alpha said.I widened my eyes in shock and surprise upon hearing those words from the alpha. How could he think this way of me, despite what the nurse told him?"My alpha, I don't think you sho
Aurora's pov The alpha's expression turned confused. "Excuse me, I don't understand you?" he asked, interrupting the beta.I just stared at them as they spoke. The beta hesitated, looking at me before turning back to the alpha. "They're asking for the land near the old oak tree of your grandparents, my alpha," he said slowly. The alpha's expression changed, his eyes narrowing. "The old oak tree?" he repeated. "That's a sacred site for our pack. Why would they want that land?"The beta shook his head. "I don't know, my alpha. But they seemed really insistent on getting that land. They said it was essential for their farming."The alpha's face twisted in a dirty looks. "I don't trust them," he growled. "There's something more to this. I want you to investigate further, beta. Find out what they're really after."The beta nodded, looking determined. "Yes, my alpha. I'll get to the bottom of this."I watched as the alpha and the beta continued to discuss the matter, my mind racing with th
Aurora povThe nurse smile was unstoppable as I smiled back at the nurse, feeling a appreciated. "Thanks for playing along," I wrote. "I owe you one."The nurse chuckled and patted my hand. "Don't worry about it, dear. I'm just glad I could help. But seriously, you need to be careful. The alpha is getting suspicious, and if he finds out you're hiding something from him, there will be consequences."I nodded, feeling a shiver run down my spine. I knew the nurse was right. I had to be careful if I wanted to keep my secrets safe. The nurse helped me settle in for the night, making sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. With that, she smiled and slipped out of the room, leaving me to wonder what she had discovered.I knew I couldn't pretend forever. The alpha would be back, and he wouldn't take no for an answer. He needed the truth.Few minutes after nurse left, leaving me to rest. As I wasn't able to sleep, I found myself rolling on my bed, my mind racing with thoughts and w
Aurora's pov The tension was beginning to increase, as the beta wasn't ready for anymore conversation. "I understand," I wrote, trying to look calm. "But I don't see how finding the person will change anything."The beta's expression turned grim. "It will change everything, Aurora. The alpha will not rest until he finds out who the father of your child is. And if we don't find him first, the alpha will assume it's me. Do you understand what that means?"I just nodded. Because I knew that if the alpha assumed the beta was the father of my child, it would mean disaster for the beta."It means the alpha will punish me, and possibly even exile me from the pack," the beta said, his voice low and serious. "And it will also put you and your child in danger. The alpha will not take kindly to being deceived."I felt fear at the beta's words. I had never intended for things to go this far. I had only been trying to protect myself and my child."What can we do?" I wrote, feeling a sense of des
Aurora's pov Despite pushing the feeling aside, it still kept disturbing me. It just seemed like the more I was trying to find a way out, the more I was multiplying my problems. Adding more lies wasn't the best idea I would have come up with, but the deal had already been done. I would have to face the consequences.I felt unease as the guilt settled in the pit of my stomach. Every time I thought about the web of lies I had spun, I felt like I was drowning in my own deceit. The beta's words kept echoing in my mind "I'll will find thr rapist no matter what it takes." But what if he didn't? What if the beta saw right through my lies?I felt a cold sweat break out on my forehead as I thought about the possibilities. I had never been a good liar, and now I was trapped in a situation where my lies could have disastrous consequences. As I walked around the room, I couldn't help but feel like I was walking on thin ice. One wrong move, one misstep, and everything could come crashing down aro
Aurora's pov The guard's eyes locked onto mine, filled with a deep sadness. "You see, ma'am, the beta's anger against rape isn't just about justice. It's personal. And now, with your... situation, he's even more driven to uncover the truth."I felt a cold creeping all over my body as I realized the gravity of my actions. I had unwittingly dragged the beta's dark past into the spotlight, and now he was more determined than ever to uncover the truth. The guard's voice brought me back to reality. "Please, ma'am, you must promise me that you won't tell the beta that I told you this. He would never forgive me if he knew that I had shared this with you."I nodded, still trying to process the weight of the guard's words. I felt like I was trapped in a web of my own making, with no clear escape.I nodded again, trying to reassure the guard that I would keep his secret. He looked at me with a serious expression, then nodded and unlocked the door.As he opened the door, I saw the beta standing
Aurora pov I stood there, my heart pounding out of my chest, as they both stared at me. Waiting for me to start writing, I held my notepad tight to my chest, my finger tapping at the surface of the notepad, not knowing what to say, thinking of different things to say."I believe you have rested enough, Aurora," the alpha said, his voice raising in venom. "Time to start writing, because I can't accommodate a child, who we don't know who the father is.""You want to still bring that up again?" the beta asked."Yes," the alpha replied, "and moreover, you spoke something about Aurora hiding something. Is there anything I need to know?" The alpha asked, his eyes narrowing at me.Maybe the alpha knows about the beta's past, I thought to myself. I have to tell him to take the attention away from me.I opened my notepad to write: "Am sorry I was afraid to tell you, but I was raped."They both came nearer to read what I wrote."What?" the alpha exclaimed. "Am very sorry, I know how you feel.
Asher povShe stood there, shocked at my words. She began to write on her notepad: "I thought you were having it under control? You were trying to make her jealous as we went for that dinner, now that you know she's after your throne, you're standing here in regret."I shook my head in disappointment, not knowing what to say to her, as I read what she wrote: "What I am angry about is that I allowed you to deceive me, to follow you to that dinner."I felt a pang of guilt as I read her words. I had deceived her, used her as a pawn in my game to make Sophia jealous. And now, I was facing the consequences."Aurora, I..." I started to speak, but she held up her hand, stopping me.You used me, she wrote, her words piercing my heart. You used me to get back at Sophia, without considering my feelings or well-being.I looked down, ashamed. I had been so blinded by my desire to hurt Sophia that I hadn't thought about the impact my actions would have on Aurora."I'm sorry," I said, my voice bare
Asher povI arrived at Johnson's home, a nondescript building in the heart of the city. I knocked on the door, and Johnson answered, a look of curiosity on his face."What's going on, Asher?" he asked, ushering me into his home.I filled him in on my conversation with Josh, and Johnson's eyes grew wider as I spoke."This sounds big," he said, his fingers flying across his keyboard. "Let me see what I can dig up."He worked his magic, hacking into Sophia's computer systems and uncovering a trail of secrets and lies. As we dug deeper, I realized that Sophia's plan was far more sinister than I had ever imagined."What have we got?" I asked Johnson, my eyes scanning the data on hid screen.Johnson's face was grim. "It looks like Sophia is planning to take over the pack," she said. "And she's willing to do whatever it takes to get what she wants.""Yes, that was not a new thing, that was her plan all along. What else can you find?" I asked, followed by a deep breath."From the documents I
Asher povI felt a chill run down my spine as Sophia's words hung in the air. What did she mean by "or else"? What kind of leverage did she have over me?Suddenly, she taped me to bring me back to reality, and I turned to see Sophia's eyes staring at me a menacing look on her face."I think it's time for you to cooperate, Asher," Sophia said, her voice dripping with malice. "You're not going anywhere until we settle this."I realized with a jolt of fear that I was trapped, and Sophia had the upper hand. I had to think fast, to come up with a plan to escape and clear my name. But for now, I was at Sophia's mercy.I looked at Sophia with a strange look. "Sophia, you are getting insane, and I would not be a part of what you're doing," I yelled, standing up."Calm down, Asher," she said, her voice low and even. "This love... it just looks like I'm the one putting all the effort here," she added, bowing her head in anger.I took a step back, shocked by Sophia's words. "Love? You call this
Asher povMy mother nodded, seeming to accept my promise. "See that you are, Asher. I don't want to see you get hurt again."I nodded, feeling a pang of guilt for worrying my mother. "I'll be fine, Mother. I can take care of myself."My mother raised an eyebrow, a hint of skepticism in her voice. "Can you, Asher? Can you really take care of yourself when it comes to Aurora?"I felt a surge of defensiveness, but I knew my mother was just trying to protect me. "Mother, I'll be fine. I promise."My mother nodded, seeming to accept my reassurance. "Alright, Asher. Just be careful, okay?"I nodded, feeling a sense of relief wash over me. "I will, Mother. Thank you for worrying about me."My mother smiled, her expression softening. "That's what mothers are for, Asher. Now go, and be careful."I nodded, turning to leave. As I walked out of my mother's house, I couldn't shake the feeling that I was walking into a storm, one that would test my resolve and my heart.I walked back to my car, my
Asher pov The night ended as I stood in front of the restaurant, watching as her driver drove her off. With a little faded smile, I waved to her. It was like a dream which was Aurora, the one person I never thought this would happen with, just did.I walked to my car as my phone rang. It was my mother."Why would she be calling me at this time?" I thought."Hello, Mother," I said, answering the call."Asher, what is this I am seeing? All these pictures...?" my mother said, her voice heavy and angry."What pictures are you talking about?" I asked, curiosity filling my thoughts."A picture of you and Aurora in a restaurant, having dinner. I don't understand - is this an old picture or what? Aurora... for over how many years ago... about five years ago, I guess," she said, confusion filling her words."Mother, calm down, I can explain," I said, my voice trembling."Come to my place right away and explain!" she yelled.I sighed, rubbing my temples as I tried to ward off the impending hea
Aurora pov I felt a shiver run down my spine as Asher's words hung in the air. The entire pack in danger? What could Sophia possibly be hiding?I looked at Asher, searching for answers. His expression was grim, his jaw clenched in determination."What makes you think Sophia's hiding something?" I wrote, my hands trembling in fear.Asher hesitated, his eyes scanning the surrounding area before focusing on me. "I've been noticing strange behavior from her. Secret meetings, whispered conversations... and then there's the fact that she's been acting increasingly erratic."I frowned, my mind racing with possibilities. Sophia's behavior did sound suspicious."And what do you think I can do to help?" I wrote, my curiosity getting the better of me.Asher's eyes locked on mine, his gaze intense. "Like I said, I need you to pretend to be interested in me again. To make Sophia believe that we're rekindling our relationship. Can I count on you, Aurora?"I hesitated, unsure of what to write. Pret
Aurora pov It had been about a week since Asher and I met at that event. I could still remember his words. I was mute, but my heart poured out my words. I had to push those feelings aside and focus on my company, which I had already built to great heights. As I sat in my office, staring out the window at the bustling city below, my mind began to wander back to Asher. I couldn't believe the connection we had shared, despite my inability to speak. It was as if he had seen into my very soul.I shook my head, trying to clear the thoughts. I had worked too hard to build my company from the ground up to let distractions get in the way. But as I turned back to my desk, my eyes landed on the small, intricately carved wooden box that Asher had given me.I opened the box, revealing the beautiful silver necklace inside. It was a stunning piece, with delicate filigree and a small crystal pendant. I ran my fingers over the necklace, feeling a shiver run down my spine, it was gift from one of my f
Asher pov Sophia entered, going straight to sit on the bed. I turned, looking at her angrily. "Why are you here? I thought I left the room for you?" I asked."Asher, why are you doing this to me? Even if you hate me, at least show respect for the baby inside me," she said, making eye contact with me."Sophia, you are evil and you know it," I said, my voice heavy. "I don't know your motive, but I am determined to stop you. You forced me that night to make love with you because I was drunk. Now that you are pregnant, you are using it to gain power for yourself.""Asher, I want us to stop all of this," Sophia said, her eyes narrowing. "The truth is, I want you to be my alpha and I want to be your luna. I don't want to share you with anyone.""Share me with anyone? What do you mean?" I asked, looking confused."Yes, you know what I am talking about," Sophia said, her voice dripping with malice. "Aurora? Does she ring a bell in your head? Or should I remind you of the slap she gave me? No
Asher povI felt a surge of anger and frustration at my mother's words. Didn't she care about the truth? Didn't she care about the harm that Sophia could be causing to the pack?I took a deep breath and tried to calm myself down. I knew that my mother was only trying to protect the pack, but I also knew that she was being naive. Sophia was not what she seemed, and I was determined to expose her for what she truly was.I looked over at my personal guard, who was watching me with concern. "What did she say?" he asked, as I hung up the phone.I shook my head and said. "She wants me to drop the investigation into Sophia's activities. She says that Sophia is carrying my baby and that we can't afford to upset her."My guard eyes widened in shock. "But that's not true, is it?" he asked. "I mean, Sophia is not really carrying your baby, is she?"I nooded my head. "Yes, she's is. But my mother knows that. And she believes Sophia's lies, and she's willing to do whatever it takes to protect her.
