Aurora pov
I stood there, my heart pounding out of my chest, as they both stared at me. Waiting for me to start writing, I held my notepad tight to my chest, my finger tapping at the surface of the notepad, not knowing what to say, thinking of different things to say.
"I believe you have rested enough, Aurora," the alpha said, his voice raising in venom. "Time to start writing, because I can't accommodate a child, who we don't know who the father is."
"You want to still bring that up again?" the beta asked.
"Yes," the alpha replied, "and moreover, you spoke something about Aurora hiding something. Is there anything I need to know?" The alpha asked, his eyes narrowing at me.
Maybe the alpha knows about the beta's past, I thought to myself. I have to tell him to take the attention away from me.
I opened my notepad to write: "Am sorry I was afraid to tell you, but I was raped."
They both came nearer to read what I wrote.
"What?" the alpha exclaimed. "Am very sorry, I know how you feel. I shouldn't have pressured you," the alpha said, staring at me with pity.
But on the other hand, the beta was furious, judging from his facial expression. I could tell he wasn't happy with me, telling the alpha about the rape.
"But good thing we have my beta," the alpha said, turning to the beta, whose rage was becoming obvious. "He would find the rapist, and I promise you, Aurora, I would bring the rapist to justice."
The beta's eyes flashed with anger, his jaw clenched in determination. "I'll find him," he growled, his voice low and menacing. "And when I do, he'll pay for what he's done."
I felt a shiver run down my spine as I met the beta's gaze. I knew that he was a man of his word, and that he would stop at nothing to bring my rapist to justice.
The alpha nodded, his expression grim. "I'll make sure that you have all the resources you need to find him," he said. "But in the meantime, Aurora, you need to be careful. If your rapist is still out there, he may try to come after you again."
I nodded, feeling fear within me. I knew that I was in danger, but I also knew that I had the alpha and the beta on my side. They would do everything in their power to protect me, and I was grateful for that.
The beta's eyes narrowed, his gaze intense. "I'll assign some more guards to watch over you," he said. "You'll be safe, Aurora. I promise."
All I did want nod, follow by a breath. I knew that I was in good hands, and that the beta would do everything in his power to keep me safe.
Now it just looked as if my lies were about to get me. I had lied to hide my past, but my lies were making things serious and complicated. At this point, I just gave up. I would let the beta investigate; after all, I wasn't raped. The beta would just search in vain, and all this would just be forgotten.
I turned to look at the beta, who looked away, still angry at me for telling the alpha about the rape. His expression was a mixture of anger and hurt, and I couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt for deceiving him. But I pushed the feeling aside, telling myself that it was necessary to protect my secrets.
As the beta continued to avoid eye contact, I couldn't help but notice the tension in the air. The alpha, sensing the unease, cleared his throat and spoke up.
"Beta, I want you to take charge of the investigation. Find out who did this to Aurora and bring them to justice."
The beta nodded, still not looking at me. "I'll take care of it, alpha."
I felt a surge of anxiety at the beta's words. I knew that he would stop at nothing to uncover the truth, and I wasn't sure if I was ready for that. But it was too late now, the wheels were already in motion.
The alpha turned to me, his expression softening. "Aurora, I want you to know that you're safe here. We'll do everything in our power to protect you and bring the perpetrator to justice."
I nodded, towards the alpha. But as I glanced at the beta, I couldn't shake off the feeling that I was in trouble. Big trouble.
I quickly wrote on my notepad, "But the person who raped me wore a mask, I don't know him, so I think the beta would find it difficult to catch the rapist."
The alpha read what I wrote, then smiled at me. "You don't need to worry about that," the alpha said. "The beta has done more difficult cases than this."
It just seemed as if whatever idea I brought up, they had a counter to it. I couldn't believe someone would do something so heartless, taking advantage of a mute girl, the alpha said, his expression a mixture of anger and sadness.
The beta's eyes narrowed, his jaw clenched in determination. "Don't worry, alpha," he said. "I'll find him, no matter what it takes."
The alpha nodded, his eyes never leaving the beta's face. "I know you will, beta. You're the best we have."
The beta's expression didn't change, but I sensed a hint of pride in his voice. "I won't let you down, alpha."
I felt a shiver run down my spine as I watched the exchange between the alpha and the beta. They were a formidable team, and I had a feeling that they would stop at nothing to uncover the truth.
The alpha turned to me, his expression softening. "Aurora, I want you to stay here in the packhouse until the beta catches the person who did this to you. You'll be safe here."
I nodded, relief. I knew that I would be safe with the alpha and the beta watching over me.
But as I looked at the beta, I couldn't help but feel unease. He was still angry with me, and I knew that he wouldn't hesitate to confront me if he discovered that I was lying.
Aurora pov Just when the alpha was about to speak, the beta's phone rang. "Sorry, my alpha," the beta said, walking away from us to a corner of the room.I turned to the beta, trying to hear his conversation, but all I could hear was just murmurs. A while later, he walked back to us, looking at us with a big smile on his face."It looks like my investigation is moving faster than I expected," the beta said. "Aurora, immediately after we spoke yesterday night, I called some of my sources, and they were able to get me some information which I would say would be quite useful for me.""Wait, you two spoke last night?" the alpha asked, looking confused."Just forget about that, my alpha," the beta said. The alpha turned to me, but I only gave a faded smile."My sources said they just caught two suspected rapists," the beta said. "I think Aurora should follow me, maybe she could recognize something."Immediately, the beta spoke those words, my heart started racing fast, and I began trembli
Aurora's pov There was no sign of giving up from the alpha and beta, as they were both determined. I just stood there in shock, staring at the both of them, as I held my pen tight on my notepad. The alpha noticed my discomfort as he looked at me with a worried look. "Do you have anything to write that could help us?" the alpha asked.I didn't even nod or shake my head; it was as if my whole body was frozen, with my eyebrows widely open."Hmmm, I understand we are stressing you, judging from your condition," the alpha said, "but I just want to tell you that we mean well for you."I let out a deep breath of frustration, as I was getting tired of the situation. The whole room was filled with silence, as both the beta and alpha had nothing else to say. Then, after what felt like eternity, there was a knock at the door that broke the silence."Who is there?" the alpha yelled, as his voice gave me a bit of fear. The door cracked open, and it was one of the beta's guards. "You came with goo
Aurora's pov I was relieved that the beta had dropped the subject of Ryker. I began to scribble some notes on my pad, trying to appear thoughtful. As I wrote, I couldn't help but think about Ryker's unexpected arrival. What was he doing here? And why did he seem to recognize me?I pushed the thoughts aside, focusing on the task at hand. I had to keep up the charade, at least for now."I think I remember something," I wrote, I remember he was very tall."The beta's eyes lit up with interest. "That's a great lead," he said. "I'll make sure to investigate further."I nodded,I had managed to deflect the beta's suspicions, at least for now. But I knew that I couldn't keep up the act forever. Eventually, the truth would come out, and I would have to face the consequences.Let's go back to the alpha, the beta said, as we both turned to the alpha with a faded smile. Aurora pov The guard's eyes widened in shock as he read what I wrote."But none of them was the rapist, right?" he asked.I answered with a nod."Oh, this would be difficult for the beta than I expected," the guard said with a forced smile.I also forced a smile back. How would my lies about the rape case end? I thought. The beta would not be ready to give up.I tried to push the thought aside, not wanting to dwell on the consequences of my actions. But it was hard to shake off the feeling of unease that had settled in my stomach. The guard, seemingly oblivious to my inner turmoil, continued to chat with me, asking me questions about my day and my thoughts on the alpha and beta. I responded politely, trying to keep up the charade, but my mind was elsewhere. As the conversation went on, I found myself growing more and more anxious. I knew I had to keep up the lie, but it was getting harder and harder to do so. The guard seemed nice, but I couldn't trust him completely. What if he disc
Aurora’s POV. I walked out of the hospital with the paper in my hand. I had to walk towards a vacant seat which was designed for patients in the hospital to sit and receive fresh air. I sat slowly, as I opened the paper with trembling hands, and glanced through it. Slowly, the look on my face was replaced with that of shock. “What?” I thought as I glanced all over the paper for the umpteenth time. “I’m pregnant,” I thought with wide eyes, wondering why I became pregnant now. I became confused if it was possible to let my husband know or if I could hide it from him. “Asher wouldn’t be happy about this, I’m so sure about it,” I said to myself, still glancing at the paper before I slowly folded it back and returned it to the envelope. I decided to walk home slowly so I could also sort my thoughts. Staying in a marriage where I didn’t feel loved was enough to shatter my heart every day, but I still didn’t have the right to leave. Asher just hated me because the moon goddess fate
Aurora’s POV. I wiped my eyes, as I stood up slowly, walking out of her presence. I headed to the kitchen so I could find somewhere to fix myself in, but there were a good number of maids busy in the kitchen, so I sought within myself to check the hall. “I could help with the decorations,” I thought, and quickly walked to the hall. There weren’t a lot of people there, so I quickly went to assist the servants in decorating the hall. A servant was with a ribbon, and I took the ribbon so I could design it just the way she was doing hers, but was beyond shocked when the servant shoved me. I glared at the lady to know if she did it by mistake, but I was taken aback when she mocked me. She said, “I always wonder why our competent Alpha brought a mute like you as our Luna, and I’ve always tried my best to avoid you. I just don’t know why you keep showing your face in our business,” A servant said, and I knew deep down that I wasn’t going to take that one. I straightened my posture an
Aurora’s POV. I stared at myself in the mirror, and a light smile crept on my lips as the rays of the morning sun shone directly on my face. I was preparing to go to work at the cafe as usual as I hummed a song and walked out of my room heading out of the mansion. I walked to the cafe which wasn’t far from where the mansion was and met Nora, cleaning with a bright smile on her face. I smiled to myself as I thought, “Such a nice boss,” “Hey welcome Aurora,” She called out the moment she saw me with a bright smile that I returned with a nod. I stood in one corner with my gaze on Nora as I admired her. Nora was such a beautiful lady, that at times, I was often mesmerized by her appearance. I kept on admiring her with a smile on my face as I remembered things Nora had done for me. She has constantly supported me, even when I had no one. She was like the big sister I never had, as she always shielded me from unnecessary troubles. She is the only one who cares about me and I reall

Aurora's pov The guard's eyes locked onto mine, filled with a deep sadness. "You see, ma'am, the beta's anger against rape isn't just about justice. It's personal. And now, with your... situation, he's even more driven to uncover the truth."I felt a cold creeping all over my body as I realized the gravity of my actions. I had unwittingly dragged the beta's dark past into the spotlight, and now he was more determined than ever to uncover the truth. The guard's voice brought me back to reality. "Please, ma'am, you must promise me that you won't tell the beta that I told you this. He would never forgive me if he knew that I had shared this with you."I nodded, still trying to process the weight of the guard's words. I felt like I was trapped in a web of my own making, with no clear escape.I nodded again, trying to reassure the guard that I would keep his secret. Aurora's pov Despite pushing the feeling aside, it still kept disturbing me. It just seemed like the more I was trying to find a way out, the more I was multiplying my problems. Adding more lies wasn't the best idea I would have come up with, but the deal had already been done. I would have to face the consequences.I felt unease as the guilt settled in the pit of my stomach. Every time I thought about the web of lies I had spun, I felt like I was drowning in my own deceit. The beta's words kept echoing in my mind "I'll will find thr rapist no matter what it takes." But what if he didn't? What if the beta saw right through my lies?I felt a cold sweat break out on my forehead as I thought about the possibilities. I had never been a good liar, and now I was trapped in a situation where my lies could have disastrous consequences. As I walked around the room, I couldn't help but feel like I was walking on thin ice. One wrong move, one misstep, and everything could come crashing down aro
Aurora's pov The tension was beginning to increase, as the beta wasn't ready for anymore conversation. "I understand," I wrote, trying to look calm. "But I don't see how finding the person will change anything."The beta's expression turned grim. "It will change everything, Aurora. The alpha will not rest until he finds out who the father of your child is. And if we don't find him first, the alpha will assume it's me. Do you understand what that means?"I just nodded. Because I knew that if the alpha assumed the beta was the father of my child, it would mean disaster for the beta."It means the alpha will punish me, and possibly even exile me from the pack," the beta said, his voice low and serious. "And it will also put you and your child in danger. The alpha will not take kindly to being deceived."I felt fear at the beta's words. I had never intended for things to go this far. I had only been trying to protect myself and my child."What can we do?" I wrote, feeling a sense of des
