Aurora pov

The room was filled with silence, broken only by the noise from outside. After a while, the beta cleared his throat, breaking the silence. I stumbled at the sound of his deep throat.

"What brings you here, my beta?" the healer asked with a forceful smile on her face.

"It's about the woman beside me," the beta said, gesturing to me. "As you can see, she's pregnant. This past few days, she's been experiencing stress. If you could give her some therapy to relieve her, it would be much appreciated." The beta finished, followed by a deep breath.

"Okay, how is the baby doing, my dear child?" the healer asked, pointing at my pregnant belly.

"Fine, I guess," I wrote on my notepad, showing it to the healer while scratching my head.

The healer nodded, her eyes scanning my face before turning to the beta. "I see. Well, I'll do my best to help her. Please, leave her with me for a while."

The beta nodded, smiling at me reassuringly. "I'll be outside, waiting for you. Don't worry, you're in good hands."

I watched as the beta left the room, feeling a mix of emotions. I was relieved to be alone with the healer, but I was also anxious about what she might discover.

The healer turned to me, her expression kind but piercing. "Now, my dear, let's talk. What's really going on with you?"

I turned with a deep breath, as I wrote, "The alpha has finally discovered my pregnancy."

"Oh, sorry dear, but how old is the pregnancy now?" the healer asked after reading what I wrote.

"Now, five months now," I wrote, after counting my fingers to get the accurate month.

"Five months? And your tummy is like this?" the healer exclaimed. "Oh dear, that means you would be expecting twins!"

But at the mention of the word "twins", the notepad fell from my hand.

"What is it, my child? Why do you look so shocked?" the healer asked, coming nearer to me to try to touch, but she looked scared.

How would I be expecting twins, and my nurse didn't inform me? Oh dear, that means I would be protecting two lives, I thought.

I stared at the healer, my eyes wide with shock. "How is this possible?" I wrote on the notepad, my hand shaking.

The healer's expression turned serious and said. "It's not uncommon for women to carry twins without knowing it, especially if they're not showing much. But we need to take care of you and those babies. You're going to need extra care and attention."

I felt like I'd been punched in the gut. Twins? How was I going to protect two babies? I thought I was already taking a huge risk by keeping my pregnancy a secret, but now...now it was even more complicated.

The healer's voice brought me back to reality. "We need to keep this quiet for now. Can I trust you to keep this secret?" she asked, her eyes locked on mine.

I nodded, still in shock. I had no choice but to trust her. But what about the beta? And the alpha? How was I going to keep this secret from them?

I took a deep breath and wrote on the notepad, "What do I need to do to take care of the twins?"

The healer smiled and began to explain the special care and precautions I would need to take. As she spoke, I felt a mix of emotions: fear, anxiety, but also a sense of wonder and excitement. I was going to be a mother of twins!

Just as the healer was finishing up her instructions, I heard a knock at the door. It was the beta, come to check on me.

"How is she doing?" the beta asked the healer, his eyes scanning my face.

The healer smiled and nodded, as she said. "She's doing well. Just a bit shocked by the news, that's all."

The beta's eyes narrowed slightly, and I could tell he was suspicious. But he just nodded and said, "Good. I'll take her back now."

As we left the healer's room, I couldn't shake the feeling that the beta knew more than he was letting on. And I wondered what would happen when he found out the truth about the twins.

And sooner, if my twins are born, it would no longer be a secret anymore.

We walked for a bit, then the beta turned to look at me. "I was beginning to have doubts about your story," he said, "which is why I brought you to the healer. But my doubts were cleared today, as the healer didn't see any lies."

"I'm sorry I doubted you, Aurora," the beta added, followed by a deep breath.

So my prediction was right, I thought. The beta was really suspicious of my lies. Thank goodness, what would have happened if the beta had discovered I was lying about being raped?

I looked at him with a faded smile, as the thought of my lies was still hanging over my head. For how long would I be able to keep up this charade?

I nodded, trying to appear relieved and grateful. "It's okay, beta. I understand. You were just trying to protect the pack." I wrote.

The beta smiled and placed a hand on my shoulder. "Yes, that's all. I'm just glad we could clear up any doubts. You're safe now, Aurora."

I forced a smile, feeling a pang of guilt and anxiety. How long could I keep up this charade? What would happen when the truth finally came out?

As we walked back to the pack's den, I couldn't shake the feeling that I was living on borrowed time. My lies had been barely believable, and I knew it was only a matter of time before the beta discovered the truth.

How will the beta's determination to find the real father of my twins impact my situation? And what consequences will arise from my lies about my pregnancy?

Asher povIt was about getting to four years now, since Aurora ran away, and I hadn't heard anything from her. This past few years was like a battle between my heart and brain. My heart still wondered if she was okay, and my brain just wanted to concentrate and focus on my life in front of me.I stood in front of the bedroom mirror, preparing for my meeting, with my expensive suit matching up to my muscular body, forcing a smile on my face. My brown eyes blurred. I took a deep breath, turning to Sophia, who was still lying on the bed, after coming late from her countless parties she had been having over the years.I walked up to her, tapping her to wake her up. "Good morning, my angel," I said, still making an effort, despite her stubborn behavior on waking up."Oh...I hate you," she said, her eyes still closed, but her voice murmuring in anger. "How many times have I warned you not to wake me up?""I just want to tell you that I am about to leave for work, that's all," I said, feelin

I said."She said she is still young and beautiful, and she doesn't want to spoil her shape for me," I added, rushing my glass of juice in frustration."Just hear yourself; what is the meaning of what you are saying? Has she gone mad? And why would you accept that kind of rubbish?" she asked, hitting the table with anger.I sighed, feeling a headache coming on. This was not the first time my mother had brought up the topic of Sophia getting pregnant, and I knew it wouldn't be the last."Mother, please understand. Sophia is not ready to have children yet. And even if she was, it's not like I can force her to get pregnant," I said, trying to reason with her.My mother's expression turned red with anger. "You're the alpha! I asked, my eyes widened in curiosity."Yes, my alpha," the maid said, bowing her head. "She accepted without hesitation.""Without hesitation?" I asked, standing there in shock. "That means she didn't even argue?"The maid just nodded, still with her head down."Wow, this is new," I said. "Thank you, you can go."I nodded for her to take her leave. Could she be truly pregnant?I didn't go and meet her all through the night, as I slept in another quarters. It was the break of dawn, and I was a

Asher pov Just when I was deep in thought, my phone rang. Upon looking at my phone screen, it was my mother. "What does she want?" I murmured in frustration."Hello," her voice was heavy on the other side of the phone, as I picked up the call."Yes, Mother. I am with you," I said, followed by a deep breath."What is this I'm hearing, Sophia again?" she asked, sounding worried and curious. "One of the elders just called, and with what he was telling me, he said Sophia is pregnant. How is it possible?""I understand you, Mother," I said, shaking my head in disappointment. "Even I am also confused about it.""What is it you are confused about?" she asked, sounding angry. "Isn't she your luna? You suppose to know all about this.""Mother, Sophia is very difficult to understand," I said, scratching my head in confusion. "And more so if she needs something, she will do whatever it takes to get it.""Son, we spoke when I came to your office," she said, her voice low this time. "Where you to

But then I knew how great an actor she was; one way or another, anyone would yield for her. "Sophia," I rasped, sounding low and forbidding. "We gotta talk."She looked up at me, a weak smile on her face. "Asher," she whispered. "I'm so glad you're here. I have been feeling so unwell."I snarled; all my anger boiled then. "Don't play games with me, Sophia," I spat. "I know about your little scheme, the way you

Asher povMorning light crept inside the room, the passion of the previous night still fresh. I woke with a pounding headache-the remnants of the hangover still there. Lying beside me was Sophia, and a sly smile grew on her lips."Good morning, my alpha," she whispered, very low and seductive.I rubbed my temples, trying to ease the pain. "What was last night all about?" I asked, my voice filled with confusion and curiosity.Sophia took a deep breath before responding. "I'm the luna, and I know what my alpha needs at any given time."I raised an eyebrow, incredulous. "Sophia, I know that, but your behavior last night was unlike you. You didn't use protection or your pregnancy prevention pills. What's your game in all of this?"Sophia's smile never wavered. "Don't start this morning, asher. I know you enjoyed the passion, and I did too. Let's not spoil the moment. And if you're not satisfied, we have plenty of time this morning."I caught her hand, which was reaching to touch my chest.

She was out to have it with me over something, and from the look in her eyes, it was not going to be pretty. "Sophia, what is wrong?" I tried to stall. But she would have none of that. "Don't play dumb with me, asher," she said in a low, even tone.
