Aurora pov

The guard's eyes widened in shock as he read what I wrote.

"But none of them was the rapist, right?" he asked.

I answered with a nod.

"Oh, this would be difficult for the beta than I expected," the guard said with a forced smile.

I also forced a smile back. How would my lies about the rape case end? I thought. The beta would not be ready to give up.

I tried to push the thought aside, not wanting to dwell on the consequences of my actions. But it was hard to shake off the feeling of unease that had settled in my stomach.

The guard, seemingly oblivious to my inner turmoil, continued to chat with me, asking me questions about my day and my thoughts on the alpha and beta. I responded politely, trying to keep up the charade, but my mind was elsewhere.

As the conversation went on, I found myself growing more and more anxious. I knew I had to keep up the lie, but it was getting harder and harder to do so. The guard seemed nice, but I couldn't trust him completely. What if he discovered the truth? What if he told the beta or alpha?

My thoughts were interrupted by the sound of footsteps outside my room. The guard's head snapped up, and he looked at me with a serious expression.

"I think that's the beta," he whispered. "Stay calm, okay?"

I nodded, trying to compose myself as the guard walk up to answer the door. My heart was racing with anticipation, wondering what the beta wanted now.

The guard opened the door, and the beta walked in, his expression stern. "I've come to give you an update on the investigation," he said, his eyes fixed on me.

I nodded, trying to appear interested, as the beta began to explain that they had found some new evidence and were closing in on a suspect. I listened intently, trying to keep up the charade, but my mind was racing with thoughts of how I was going to keep this lie going.

Just as the beta was about to leave, he turned to me and said, "Oh, and one more thing. I've arranged for you to meet with a healer tomorrow to help you with your...stress because of your condition, we have over stress you alot."

I felt a bit of panic at the suggestion, knowing that a healer would likely see right through my lies. But I couldn't refuse without arousing suspicion, so I nodded reluctantly, trying to appear grateful.

Just when the beta was about to turn to the door, I held his hand, handling him my notepad, which I had already quickly written my opinion about going to the healer. "I don't think going to the healer's place tomorrow would be fine by me, since my nurse would be coming to check on me tonight," he read out what I wrote, and immediately turned to the guard, as they both stared at each other, confused.

"Yes, I know of your nurse coming," the beta said, "but this one is different. She would help you to relieve all stress in you, which would help for your baby." The beta said, handing my notepad back to me.

I took the notepad back,

I felt relief that my lies was still safe, but also anxiety about how much the beta knows and been closer to my lies. I wrote on the notepad again, "What does this have to do with the healer?"

The beta's expression turned serious, "The healer specializes in helping pregnant women who have experienced trauma. She can help you cope with your emotions and ensure a healthy pregnancy."

I felt a lump form in my throat as I heard the beta's words. No one had ever offered to help me like that before. I had always been on my own, fighting to survive.

I looked up at the beta, searching for any sign of ulterior motives. But all I saw was kindness and concern in his eyes.

I took a deep breath and wrote on the notepad, "Okay, I'll go see the healer."

The beta smiled and nodded, "I'll arrange for you to see her tomorrow morning. And don't worry, I'll make sure you're safe and comfortable the entire time."

I felt a small sense of relief. Maybe, just maybe, things were starting to look up. But as I looked at the beta, I couldn't shake the feeling that I was still walking on thin ice. One wrong move, and everything could come crashing down.

I just had to be fast, not to allow almost the whole night to pass. I wrote on a sheet of paper things I could say to the healer to convince her to hide my lies. Once we were there, I would find a way to give the healer the sheet of paper.

The next morning, I was woken up by the sound of the cock crowing. I quickly stood up and got dressed, waiting for the beta. Since I already had a plan, I needed to be prepared.

An hour later, the beta came with a big smile on his face. "I will escort you there and make sure you come back safely, considering your condition," the beta said.

At that moment, I knew that all the kindness the beta was showing me was because he suspected something. He needed the healer to confirm it for him.

We went together into the busy city, walking along a familiar route. I looked curious, wondering where he was taking me. Finally, we arrived, and behold, it was the healer that I knew - the elderly woman I had spoken to the first time I was in the city. I had already narrated my past story to her, and she knew everything.

Upon seeing each other, we smiled at each other, but I quickly pretended to act normal as soon as the beta turned to me.

Yes the healer knows everything about my past experience but would she be able to keep my secrets or would she been loyal to the beta and expose everything.

I stumbled at the sound of his deep throat."What brings you here, my beta?" the healer asked with a forceful smile on her face."It's about the woman beside me," the beta said, gesturing to me. "As you can see, she's pregnant. This past few days, she's been experiencing stress. If you could give her some therapy to relieve her, it would be much appreciated." The beta finished, followed by a deep breath."Okay, how is the baby doing, my dear child?" the healer asked, pointing at my pregnant belly."Fine, I guess," I wrote on my notepad, showing it to the healer while scratching my head. The healer nodded, her eyes scanning my face before turning to the beta. "I see. Well, I'll do my best to help her. Please, leave her with me for a while."The beta nodded, smiling at me reassuringly. "I'll be outside, waiting for you. Don't worry, you'r

Aurora pov He stepped closer to me, and I could feel the rage in his breath. "Aurora, I don't want to repeat myself. What was the meaning of what you wrote on that sheet of paper?" he asked, pointing at the crumpled paper in my hand.I took a deep breath, trying to relieve myself from the frequency of how my heart was pounding off my chest. My fear was also becoming obvious, as my hands were shaking while I tried to open my notepad to write some kind of explanation that would get me out of that situation."Didn't you hear me? I want some reply now," the beta yelled with a slightly raised voice.I was frightened by his voice, which made me drop my notepad on the floor."Can't you answer the question? What is making you scared?" the beta said, putting on a disgusting look.I bent down to pick my notepad up, still thinking of words to write. Before I could write anything, he said something that made me realize what to reply."Aurora, what are you really hiding from us?" the beta asked,

Asher povIt was about getting to four years now, since Aurora ran away, and I hadn't heard anything from her. This past few years was like a battle between my heart and brain. My heart still wondered if she was okay, and my brain just wanted to concentrate and focus on my life in front of me.I stood in front of the bedroom mirror, preparing for my meeting, with my expensive suit matching up to my muscular body, forcing a smile on my face. My brown eyes blurred. I took a deep breath, turning to Sophia, who was still lying on the bed, after coming late from her countless parties she had been having over the years.I walked up to her, tapping her to wake her up. "Good morning, my angel," I said, still making an effort, despite her stubborn behavior on waking up."Oh...I hate you," she said, her eyes still closed, but her voice murmuring in anger. "How many times have I warned you not to wake me up?""I just want to tell you that I am about to leave for work, that's all," I said, feelin

I am with you," I said, followed by a deep breath."What is this I'm hearing, Sophia again?" she asked, sounding worried and curious. "One of the elders just called, and with what he was telling me, he said Sophia is pregnant. How is it possible?""I understand you, Mother," I said, shaking my head in disappointment. "Even I am also confused about it.""What is it you are confused about?" she asked, sounding angry. "Isn't she your luna? You suppose to know all about this.""Mother, Sophia is very difficult to understand," I said, scratching my head in confusion. "And more so if she needs something, she will do whatever it takes to get it.""Son, we spoke when I came to your office," she said, her voice low this time. "Where you to

"We gotta talk."She looked up at me, a weak smile on her face. "Asher," she whispered. "I'm so glad you're here. I have been feeling so unwell."I snarled; all my anger boiled then. Asher povMorning light crept inside the room, the passion of the previous night still fresh. I woke with a pounding headache-the remnants of the hangover still there. Lying beside me was Sophia, and a sly smile grew on her lips."Good morning, my alpha," she whispered, very low and seductive.I rubbed my temples, trying to ease the pain. "What was last night all about?" I asked, my voice filled with confusion and curiosity.Sophia took a deep breath before responding. "I'm the luna, and I know what my alpha needs at any given time."I raised an eyebrow, incredulous. "Sophia, I know that, but your behavior last night was unlike you. You didn't use protection or your pregnancy prevention pills. What's your game in all of this?"Sophia's smile never wavered. "Don't start this morning, asher. I know you enjoyed the passion, and I did too. Let's not spoil the moment. And if you're not satisfied, we have plenty of time this morning."I caught her hand, which was reaching to touch my chest.
