Aurora's pov

The alpha's expression turned confused. "Excuse me, I don't understand you?" he asked, interrupting the beta.

I just stared at them as they spoke.

The beta hesitated, looking at me before turning back to the alpha. "They're asking for the land near the old oak tree of your grandparents, my alpha," he said slowly.

The alpha's expression changed, his eyes narrowing. "The old oak tree?" he repeated. "That's a sacred site for our pack. Why would they want that land?"

The beta shook his head. "I don't know, my alpha. But they seemed really insistent on getting that land. They said it was essential for their farming."

The alpha's face twisted in a dirty looks. "I don't trust them," he growled. "There's something more to this. I want you to investigate further, beta. Find out what they're really after."

The beta nodded, looking determined. "Yes, my alpha. I'll get to the bottom of this."

I watched as the alpha and the beta continued to discuss the matter, my mind racing with thoughts and questions. What did these werewolves really want? And why were they so insistent on getting that particular land?

As the alpha and the beta continued to discuss the matter, I couldn't help but feeling unease. There was something about the way the alpha's expression had changed when the beta mentioned the old oak tree that made me feel like there was more to this story.

The alpha's eyes seemed to cloud over, and his jaw clenched in a way that made me think he was trying to keep his temper in check. I wondered what could be so important about that land that it would affect the alpha so strongly.

After a few more minutes of discussion, the alpha nodded at the beta. "I want you to go back to those werewolves and tell them that we'll consider their request. But I also want you to make it clear that we won't be giving up that land without a fight."

The beta nodded, his expression serious. "Yes, my alpha. I'll take care of it."

As the beta turned to leave, the alpha's eyes turned back to me. "And as for you, Aurora," he said, his voice low and even. "I think it's time we had a little chat about your past. Don't you?"

I felt nervous at the alpha's words. What did he want to know about my past? And why did I get the feeling that I was in trouble?

The beta left together with the nurse, leaving me and the alpha alone. As the alpha watched them leave, I had already written multiple questions on my notepad, handing it to the alpha as he turned to me.

The alpha read them and immediately tore them, as he wasn't interested in those questions. "Aurora, I'm not a kid," he said. "It's time you start revealing the truth to me now."

I took a heavy breath, knowing that the alpha was not in the mood for my lies anymore, but I wasn't ready to tell him yet.

"Young lady, you better start writing what I need to hear," the alpha said, pointing to my notepad.

I needed to think of a way out of this situation, or the alpha would not rest. An idea came to me; I started holding my stomach as if it was hurting me. But the alpha wasn't moved by it. I began twisting my face in pain to make the acting real. I pretended as if the pain couldn't allow me to write on my notepad, struggling to write.

"Help, it is serious," I wrote.

The alpha looked at my face to see if it was the truth. "Oh shit, you are serious," the alpha said, rushing to me.

The alpha quickly grabbed my arm and helped me to a nearby couch, where I collapsed, still clutching my stomach. He looked at me with a mixture of concern and frustration.

"What's wrong?" he asked, his voice softer than before. "Is it the baby?"

I nodded, still pretending to be in pain. The alpha quickly grabbed his phone and dialed a number.

"Get the nurse back here, now," he barked into the phone. "Aurora's having some kind of episode."

I watched as the alpha paced back and forth in front of me, his eyes fixed on me with worry and suspicion. I knew I had to keep up the act if I wanted to avoid answering his questions.

After a few minutes, the nurse rushed back into the room, looking concerned. "What's wrong?" she asked, rushing to my side.

The alpha filled her in on what had happened, and the nurse quickly began to examine me. I continued to pretend to be in pain, trying to convince them that I was really ill.

But as the nurse examined me, I could tell that she was starting to suspect that something was off. She looked at me with a keen eye, and I could tell that she was trying to figure out if I was really in pain or just faking it.

The nurse's expression remained calm and professional as she examined me, but I could sense a hint of understanding in her eyes. She knew that I was trying to avoid the alpha's questions, and she was willing to play along.

After a few moments, the nurse looked up at the alpha and said, "I think Aurora needs to rest. This stress is not good for her or the baby."

The alpha nodded, looking concerned. "Of course. I'll leave her alone for now. But Aurora," he turned to me, his eyes serious, "we're not done discussing this. I'll be back soon, and I expect you to be ready to talk."

I nodded, still pretending to be in pain, and the alpha turned and left the room. As soon as he was gone, the nurse turned to me and smiled.

"Well played," she whispered. "But next time, be careful. The alpha is not a man to be joking with."

Aurora's pov The tension was beginning to increase, as the beta wasn't ready for anymore conversation. "I understand," I wrote, trying to look calm. "But I don't see how finding the person will change anything."The beta's expression turned grim. "It will change everything, Aurora. The alpha will not rest until he finds out who the father of your child is. And if we don't find him first, the alpha will assume it's me. Do you understand what that means?"I just nodded. Because I knew that if the alpha assumed the beta was the father of my child, it would mean disaster for the beta."It means the alpha will punish me, and possibly even exile me from the pack," the beta said, his voice low and serious. "And it will also put you and your child in danger. The alpha will not take kindly to being deceived."I felt fear at the beta's words. I had never intended for things to go this far. I had only been trying to protect myself and my child."What can we do?" I wrote, feeling a sense of des

Waiting for me to start writing, I held my notepad tight to my chest, my finger tapping at the surface of the notepad, not knowing what to say, thinking of different things to say."I believe you have rested enough, Aurora," the alpha said, his voice raising in venom. "Time to start writing, because I can't accommodate a child, who we don't know who the father is.""You want to still bring that up again?" the beta asked."Yes," the alpha replied, "and moreover, you spoke something about Aurora hiding something. Is there anything I need to know?" The alpha asked, his eyes narrowing at me.Maybe the alpha knows about the beta's past, I thought to myself. I have to tell him to take the attention away from me.I opened my notepad to write: "Am sorry I was afraid to tell you, but I was raped."They both came nearer to read what I wrote."What?" the alpha exclaimed. "Am very sorry, I know how you feel.

"Aurora, immediately after we spoke yesterday night, I called some of my sources, and they were able to get me some information which I would say would be quite useful for me.""Wait, you two spoke last night?" the alpha asked, looking confused."Just forget about that, my alpha," the beta said. The alpha turned to me, but I only gave a faded smile."My sources said they just caught two suspected rapists," the beta said. "Let me see what I can dig up."He worked his magic, hacking into Sophia's computer systems and uncovering a trail of secrets and lies. As we dug deeper, I realized that Sophia's plan was far more sinister than I had ever imagined."What have we got?" I asked Johnson, my eyes scanning the data on hid screen.Johnson's face was grim. Didn't she care about the harm that Sophia could be causing to the pack?I took a deep breath and tried to calm myself down. I knew that my mother was only trying to protect the pack, but I also knew that she was being naive. Sophia was not what she seemed, and I was determined to expose her for what she truly was.I looked over at my personal guard, who was watching me with concern. "What did she say?" he asked, as I hung up the phone.I shook my head and said. "She wants me to drop the investigation into Sophia's activities. She says that Sophia is carrying my baby and that we can't afford to upset her."My guard eyes widened in shock. "But that's not true, is it?" he asked. "I mean, Sophia is not really carrying your baby, is she?"I nooded my head. "Yes, she's is. But my mother knows that. And she believes Sophia's lies, and she's willing to do whatever it takes to protect her.
