BABY'S COMING

Lily was fast asleep for most of the night and even didn’t notice the time that Ken came in and slept next to her. But at the late hours of the night, she felt mild contractions and dilation and aches and pains in the tummy and some backache. She thought it was because she was more active yesterday than on other days which is why she was feeling uneasy. She also did not want to cause any forced alarm and did not want to wake Jimmy up who was in deep sleep and snoring hard until Lily was envying his peaceful sleep and she was very uncomfortable. She tried calling Tina but her phone was off so she called her mum and asked her what could be the symptoms of early labor. Her mother explained to my daughter she will know you are in early labor when you get contractions or tightenings in her tummy. You will know when you experience the real contractions and feel consistent pain in your belly and lower back and you will have the urge to go to the toilet when the baby’s head is pressing on your bowl and the water will break. When you feel a sudden contraction shout out so that we can take you for labor. My back is aching and also my tummy then her mum said get your baby bag I’m coming to take you to bring our princess to the world. Lily woke up and went to the toilet on her way back she had a strong contraction and felt her water break and a sharp pain that made her scream Kens' name.

Ken who was first asleep woke up in a confused manner and wasn’t understanding what was happening and asked what’s the matter wake up dummy it's time. Then he became more confused time for breakfast what can I get for you Lily couldn’t be more impatient time for the baby dummy to take me to the hospital ooh he now got put on his pajama shirt fast and sweater on top took the baby bag that was already packed in the table put her a nightgown and assisted her to board the car. Jimmy had wrapped her with a blanket to keep her warm and she could occasionally scream when the pain became more when Jimmy asked what the matter was she said it’s you, dummy, you gave me this pregnancy Jimmy only said sorry sweetheart it will be over soon. It better be over and I am never sleeping with you Lily started cursing and another contraction came and she screamed Luckily they were in the hospital Emergency Response and since Jimmy had called her doctor the labor room was already set for her.

She was whisked immediately to the labor ward and Jimmy was told to wait for the doctor to examine her first. He remembered he had not called anyone and so he called Lewis who answered the first ring and told him what was happening. He also requested that he brings him a fresh truck suit and shirt since the clothes he was wearing were stained when he helped to load Lily in his car he also needed the car taken to the carwash for cleaning and polishing. The doctor came and he was given clothes to put on and protective gear and shoes and was instructed to wash his hands and put on his gloves and then went to the delivery room because Lily was asking for him.

He had her scream when she was pushing and when he stood in her head and assisted her in pushing she relaxed then when she pushed the contraction was painful she cursed him you dummy I will not sleep with you. No more kids Jimmy managed to reply sorry darling it will be over soon. No more kids Jimmy accepted every word that came out of her mouth because he needed to assist the baby to come out. He helped her in breathing in and pushing the process took about two hours which was the most agonizing time, especially for Jimmy. 

He assisted in pushing them in and out until she was able to push the baby out when the doctor said do it girl the baby wants to come out and she pushed out with all her might the baby was born and then the placenta came out and the nurses wiped the baby and she cried hard making the mother shed tears of joy when she was put in front of them she was indeed a princess. When the process was finished the doctor sent the baby to the nursery and the father out so that they can clean up the mother she also needed to rest since she was exhausted. Jimmy was told to give her a recovery period but he would be allowed to see his daughter before he left.

He left the labor room and went outside to find Lewis and Sally waiting for him when he saw them he was relieved and he said it’s a girl all of a sudden the excitement overtook the pain and he only saw the joy in Lily's eyes when she held her beautiful baby girl. Lewis congratulated him and asked how the mother was doing but told them they were advised to give them time to recover and come tomorrow because she would be sleeping now. He requested Lewis to join him in the nursery and he saw baby Lily so cute and promised to always take care of her and the mother.

He went to see the doctors who told him that both the mother and the baby were doing well and was asked to let them rest for the remaining night so he could come to visit them in the morning. Before he left Jimmy asked in Lewis had seen Ken and Tina and Lewis said they were wasted yesterday you talk to them tomorrow they are one crazy couple but I envy my brother man he got himself a woman and they are both crazy in love I hope I get a lady who truly cherishes me he said and Jimmy told him to have faith and you will get the right lady for you who will make you complete and you can raise a family with. You are a good man you will get the right lady for yourself.
