THE BRIDAL SHOWER

When Stacy went home she did not like the idea of the Parkers hosting the wedding reception but she couldn’t go against the tradition so she thought of what she could do so that the Kings despite offering to pay for the honeymoon for the brides and groom they could also host the rehearsal dinner etiquette and host the bridal shower for the daughter’s in law. She had consulted Sally Parker and they didn’t have any objection and the bridal shower would be fun to host and have. She had some friends who would love to come for the shower plus her friends and immediate family members specifically ladies. They planned the bridal party two months before the wedding. The bridal shower which was made in honor of the two brides would be more fun since it was for a double wedding and the ladies would present their gifts to the brides to be on a specific day and also have fun anticipating the wedding date. 

Stacy and Aunty Cherry felt that since the ladies came to their family after marrying their boys so many blessings have been realized. They gave her and her husband grandchildren that they adored, the girls had kind hearts were down to earth, and brought so much joy to the family. Stacy felt that even though she was blessed in giving birth to boys only the girls married in her family by her sons were a blessing. They were not gold diggers like the previous women who were after their sons for material gain and could not make a home. She was happy for the girls and felt the bachelor party was a way of appreciating them for making her house complete. They had discussed this with Cherry and decided they would call an event organizer to assist in arranging for details. They wanted it to be an intimate party for immediate family and friends and no friends or the fuzzy friends who were only there to show off their latest designer clothes and their faces coated with makeup. Another reason she loved her daughter in laws they were natural no baked makeup and were down to earth the way they treated her and her husband with respect made her a proud mother until she told them to be calling her mama which sounded so genuinely respectful when coming from their mouth and she felt so close to the girls and saw them like her daughters. She was happy that her sons got the right women in their life and the only way to honor them was to through a bridal shower for good wishes and congratulate them on their upcoming wedding and also to gift them with the gifts she had always wanted to but the opportunity never arose. She invited close friends and family ladies and the bridal party adult ladies who had confirmed attending the wedding. In this case, both brides acted as each other maid of honor so it was tricky for them to host the bridal shower, and for Stacy, it was a privilege to host it on their behalf. With the help of the wedding planner, she organized the bridal party in a quiet restaurant and the color code was purple which was the wedding theme, for the wine lovers there was plenty of wine to taste and have fun with. They sent the invitation cards using the delivery man, set the menu, and selected the bridal shower décor. They also choose a pretty floral and balloons with purple, white, and silver colors and ribbons and an embroidered purple curtain at the background with gathers with beautiful words engraved on our beautiful bride L & T bridal shower that made a picture perfect photo background where photos would be taken and videos loaded and put in the wedding website for the participants to access and d******d if they wanted to.

There were games to be played Stacy, Cherry and some friends who were also invited to the bridal shower met in Stacy’s home and using her laptop downloaded and printed some romantic movie quotes and wrapped gifts like necklaces, bracelets, scarves, and body sprays with fragrance from scented lavender, jasmine or rose flowers the gifts were wrapped in the gift packs so whoever got the answer right would get one.  There was a fun selection of music a mixture of a few love songs, jazz music, and blues, and the best lady who would sing along to the instrumental music would be rewarded. There would be a DJ to assist in all this he would pray the love song and someone would name the tune and mention the musician and if they got it right they would be rewarded with a gift pack. There was the bride and groom trivia where the ladies would guess what their groom loved more and they would be tested if they knew their men well. Of course, the groom had already been asked these questions earlier and was recorded already. 

The guests were told to write the favorite activities the couples can do in their dates and fun dates and place them in a clear beautiful oval-shaped jars in well-decorated blocks each guest was given two and then place them in the jar for the couple to refer to in future when they wanted to have fun.

There were also provided with printable memory cards and write down their best memory with the bride in this case there were two jars to fill. There was also a candy jar guessing game and whoever answered correctly was given a candy the candy was a strawberry dipped in white chocolate on a stick and the ladies loved the taste so no one wanted to miss the chance of dripping the candy. Others were questions of how old is the groom and the bride and the photos they had been taken together and the guest would name the location.

The show stopper was the musical bouquet just like dancing with the chairs it was passed while the music was being played and five chairs were placed and six ladies volunteered to dance when the music stopped the one missing would be eliminated plus one sat until the sit remaining would be one left and he winner rewarded. It was fun to watch the girls scribble for the sit and fun also for people to dance at the same time. The last lady sitting was crowned with a bouquet.

After the games were over they ate the cocktail dinner and drank too much wine cocktails were provided for the girls to drink and merry and dance to the music and towards the end of the ceremony both grooms with the guys from the bachelors party who most would be from the bridal party joined them had more drinks and danced until wee hours in the morning. Everybody left happy and the bridal couple left early since the babies were still waiting for them at home.
