Elisa looked at the positive pregnancy test result in shock. After she lost her first child, she didn't expect to be pregnant again! How did this happen?!
She nervously bit her nails, her heart filled with fear.
"Should I tell Ezekiel?" she asked herself. Ezekiel was her mate, the alpha of the wolf pack.
"I can't! I can't let what happened last time happen again." She immediately rejected that choice, flashing back to his disgusted reaction when he heard she was pregnant the first time.
"A mute, powerless weakling like you could never give birth to my child. The heir to lead the pack in the future cannot be a mute like you!!" he had roared at her.
The scene from when she told Ezekiel about her first pregnancy still sent chills down her spine.
Even though it had been three years, she still remembered it vividly. She still remembered the darkness in his eyes as he stared deeply at her, like glaring at a criminal.
To him, she was indeed a criminal. She was the reason his life was ruined. If she had never existed, he would have happily married his true love Cindy instead of being mated to a mute, weak omega like her, rather than their current icy marriage.
But regardless, it couldn't be called her fault. She didn't ask the Moon Goddess to make them fated mates. She lost her memory, voice and wolf at a young age - it wasn't her fault.
Even though he spent most of his time with his mistress, he still deeply resented her. Even though she had treated him well all these years, he still treated her like trash.
They weren't always like this. He used to be much kinder to her. As long ago as it was, she still remembered the scene when she first entered the wolf pack.
She was only eight years old, the last surviving wolf in the pack. After the pack was suddenly attacked by rogues, she lost her family, packmates, voice and wolf, before being brought home by Ezekiel's father.
Ezekiel's father and her father were best friends, which was why he took her in. She was immediately welcomed by the Crawford family, except for Ezekiel's sister Emma. Although she was always bullied for being mute and wolfless, Ezekiel's presence allowed her to endure it all.
He took great care of her, like a brother, protecting her from all oppressors including his sister Emma. But when he turned eighteen and discovered she was his fated mate, it all ended.
"Why you? Everything is ruined!" he roared, his eyes icy cold. When Ezekiel first felt their bond, he felt not joy but anger.
His hurtful words stabbed at her like a million knives. From the first time she saw Ezekiel, she had loved him, so she was overjoyed to be his fated mate, but clearly he did not want to accept it.
The reason was simply that he was already in love with Cindy, the beautiful, capable daughter of a Beta, who was superior to her in every way, though she was loath to admit it - Cindy was the perfect Luna candidate.
So she didn't blame Ezekiel, she was even prepared to be rejected. However, no one expected that Ezekiel's father would leave a final wish: that Ezekiel had to marry her as his Luna to become the Alpha. From then on, his hatred for Elisa began.
In the five years since marrying him, Elisa had always hoped he would eventually warm up to her, love her the way he should. But those were just wishes. As a mute Luna, she was only a source of shame to Ezekiel, so he always ensured she never appeared in public.
Everyone knew he was married, but no one knew she was his wife, so she did not receive the respect she was due. Seeing her protector had abandoned her, Elisa became the target of everyone's bullying and insults, even from the servants.
As Elisa was lost in thought, she heard the bedroom door push open, and soon her mate's sweet scent wafted into her nose, perhaps amplified by the pregnancy.
She would not let Ezekiel find out about her pregnancy. She quickly hid the pregnancy test in the drawer.
She nervously stood up, just as the heavily drunk Ezekiel stormed in. He was tall and muscular, his face flushed red, his deep pupils blazing with fire, his jawline taut, his lips pursed into a tight line. He was displeased. When he walked in, the air pressure in the whole room dropped, and Alyssa's body was pinned in place in fear.
Elisa bit her lip, unsure what to do. When she noticed him nearly losing his balance, she immediately rushed over to support him, instantly feeling Ezekiel's piercing gaze.
She was so frightened she wanted to flee, but her wrist was grabbed by his large hand. "Look at me," he commanded in a low voice, making her tremble. She didn't dare meet his loathing eyes.
"Look into my eyes, mate!" he commanded again, and Elisa raised her head, gazing into those captivating blue eyes, before Ezekiel suddenly bit down on her lips.
Elisa had no time to cry out before he pinned her down like a beast, her hands held above her head. She tried to resist, but each of his touches sent currents coursing towards her core between her legs, and soon she went limp, wanting him, unconsciously spreading her legs in invitation.
He entered her.
The last time she had sex with him was also when he was drunk.
Only when Ezekiel was not in his right mind could she feel his desire for her. She met his thrusts with vigor.
She felt every part of him roughly penetrating her, each thrust accompanied by pleasure and pain. Soon the pleasure overtook the pain.
"Ezekiel," she would cry out his name with each climax.
The intense lovemaking lasted until dawn. After ejaculating inside her several times, he finally released her. Elisa kept watching him, but he simply picked up his clothes from the floor without looking at her.
"Just because we had sex doesn't mean I'll acknowledge you as my Luna," Ezekiel said coldly before leaving.
Pain washed over Elisa like a tide. She thought today would be different, but as the door closed, tears streamed down quickly. Her heart ached tightly, but her throat could make no sound.
As much as this wasn't the first time he had said such hurtful things or done such cruel acts to her, nor would it be the last, it still cut her deeply.
"Why does all this have to happen to me? Am I not deserving of love just because I'm a mute without a wolf?" she thought.
She sadly looked down at her flat stomach, gently cradling it.
"At least I'm not alone anymore. Whether Ezekiel loves me or not, I still have my child. I will do my best to live on with my child," she vowed tearfully into the darkness.
Before Elisa could regain her composure, the door was flung open again with a bang. She hurriedly covered her naked body with the bedsheet. When she saw who it was, her pain began to rise again. It was Hera, Ezekiel's mother, who loathed her even more than Ezekiel did.Upon noticing her state, Hera's face creased into a deep frown. "Why are you crying?" she said with disgust. "Ezekiel is your husband, your mate, your Alpha, so you must accept everything he does to you without complaint, for that is your duty."Elisa silently dressed herself, unable to refute her. She had to get up and do the housework, or her humiliation would not stop for the day. But Hera's humiliation continued."Enough! My son is so unlucky that the Moon Goddess chose you as his mate! Now...hurry up and get dressed. You must work now. If my precious grandson's birthday is ruined due to your laziness, I will make sure Ezekiel punishes you," she ordered, giving Elisa one last disdainful look before leaving the room.
Alyssa didn't remember how she went through the party as her whole heart was worrying about the future of her baby. The next morning she stood in front of the mirror, a pale reflection staring back at her.Her eyes were dark and swollen. Obviously, she wasn't able to have a good sleep. She shook my head with a bitter smile and quickly got dressed. It was a new week and she had somewhere to go.She curved her lips as she stared at the huge signboard of a Cafe. HEAVEN CAFÉ was the only place in this city that could help distract her from all of her problems back at home. She managed to find herself a job here."Alyssa!!" Alyssa heard her name being called the moment she entered the café. Her smile widened when she saw Lily walking towards her with her arms opened wide for a hug."I missed you so much." She muttered as she embraced Alyssa tightly."Seriously?? I was only gone for a day." Alyssa told her with sign language and Lily immediately understood."A day?? It felt more like foreve
When Alyssa regained consciousness, she found herself in an unfamiliar environment. She blinked severally as she tried to get used to the bright light in the room. She looked around only to find out that she was in the hospital."How did I get here? The last thing I remembered was falling off my bike and..." She panicked immediately when the memory hit her. She touched her belly immediately like she would be able to feel anything."My baby!" She thought to myself anxiously. The door to her ward opened and Lily walked in."You're awake." She muttered happily and at the same time, in a worried tone."What happened to my baby? Is it.." Alyssa signed to her anxiously, not able to complete the question."Don't worry.. the baby is okay." Lily assured and Alyssa heaved a huge sigh of relief. She didn’t know what she would have done if she lost this one too."Why didn't you tell me you were pregnant? Why did I have to find it out after you almost lost your life?" Lily asked, disappointment la
"I've thought about it deeply and I think now is the best time to finally honor your wishes. Let's end this marriage.. let's get a divorce." Alyssa told him.His dark and hooded eyes were filled with shock as he stared the divorce papers but it was just for a few seconds. The surprise in his eyes immediately changed into fury."Are you cheating on me?" He suddenly asked.Alyssa stared at him in surprise, not expecting such a question from him of all people."Is he trying to pull a prank on me or what?" She asked herself as she scrutinized him only to realize that he was dead serious.Seriously?? Alyssa scoffed and shook her head slowly. After giving him what he had always wished to have, the first thing that left his mouth was such a dumb question."Please sign the papers quickly so we can register our divorce." She told him curtly with hand sign language as she wasn't in the mood to answer his questions. She was about to leave when he suddenly pulled her back harshly, making her stu
《The next day》~Heaven café~After Ezekiel left the house last night, Alyssa never set eyes on him again. She knew where he had spent the night but she didn't care anymore. She had finally made the decision to end her marriage with him so whatever he does with his life is none of her business any longer. She was at the café with Lily, just lazing around as there were no customers at that moment when we heard a loud revving sound. She looked outside only to see a fancy looking sports car entering the driveway.Alyssa sighed deeply when she realized who owned the car. The sports car was Ezekiel's gift to Cindy on her last birthday. She knew that because Cindy never failed to show it off at every given opportunity she had. After she had parked the car, Cindy emerged out of it, wearing a fancy looking short dress and heels to match. She really looked like a model. It was so surprise that someone like Ezekiel would fall deeply in love with her."What is that bitch doing here??" Lily asked
Alyssa’s heart hurt deeply as she heard the deep pain engraved in her voice. It was more painful that she couldn't even utter any word to ask where she was. She knew this was going to happen but why did she have to leave her on her own??"It should be me instead. Ezekiel should have inflicted the pains on me. Lily only did what she did to defend me." Alyssa thought to herself in pain. It was really frustrating that she could only listen to her so she ended the call without warning. She sent her a text asking her where she was and she replied immediately; sending Alyssa the address to the hospital she was admitted in. Alyssa stood up from her bed and put on better clothes before rushing out of the house.☆☆☆☆☆Alyssa took in deep breathes, trying to catch her breath as she stood in front of the huge hospital building. She had practically ran down here because she forgot to take her phone and some cash with her. She heaved one last time before entering the building. She didn't bother to
"You and your friend are nothing but trouble." Ezekiel added as he rubbed his head tiredly. His next few words got stuck on his throat the moment he saw the look in her eyes.It seemed like she was about to cry. He had always enjoyed making her cry so what was wrong now? Why is he suddenly feeling regrets? She deserved every hate that was coming from him so he shouldn't feel any hint of compassion for her."If I'm nothing but trouble to you, why don't you sign the divorce papers?" Alyssa asked him in sign language and he went still immediately. She still hadn't let go of the thought of leaving him. What else did he have to do to show her that there wasn't any escaping from him ever?? He will only let go of her when he's done.He could also feel the anger from his wolf as they were one. He was about to say something when his wolf suddenly took over. His eyes turned glowing red but the reaction from Alyssa wasn't something he had expected. She moved back a little and batted her eyelashe
As Alyssa watch Ezekiel leave with his lover in his arms, she felt deep pain that she had never felt before. Watching him act like she didn't exist made deep cuts in her heart, damaging her the more. How could he be so cruel to her? Even though he hated her, couldn't he feel the mate bond drawing them together? Did he hate her that much that it was able to triumph over their unbreakable mate bond?Alyssa sighed and blinked away tears from her eyes. She needed to pull herself back to reality. Their mate bond is nothing compared to what he felt for Cindy. She needed to realize and accept that she was nothing to him; that way, it wouldn't hurt this much. She wiped her tears and turned towards Lily. All that matters is how to get her out of this mess she put her in.She pulled a stool and positioned it closed to Lily's bed before she sat on it."I'm so sorry Lily, it's all my fault." She muttered sadly as she held her hands tightly. She stayed that way, watching Lily sleep peacefully, her
A low growl let Ezekiel's mouth after he released in her. He collapsed on her but held his weight with his hand from crushing her fragile body. He could hear her soft pants and low moans which were like music to his ears.No matter how angry he gets with her, a session with her was always enough to cool him off. He raised up his head which were on her shoulders and stared at her beautiful face. Her long black hair was all over her sweaty face, sticking unto her flesh. He raised his hands up and was about to move the hair covering her face when she suddenly pushed him away and moved to the other side of the bed like someone was chasing her.He stared at her in both surprise and confusion, wondering why she suddenly ran away from him. She had just been screaming out his name at the top of her lungs few seconds ago."Is she trying to act like she didn't know what she was doing?" Ezekiel asked himself with a sudden burst of amusement. His amusement quickly vanished when he saw the look on
After seeing the picture sent from the unknown number, Alyssa placed her phone on the table and continued with what she was doing. She didn't want to think about anything concerning Ezekiel nor Cindy so she drowned herself with work. She worked so meticulously in tidying up the bakery with Louis and within a few hours, they were done. After that, Louis offered to drive her to Aiden's school to help pick him up and she agreed immediately. It was easier to do that than to wait to board a taxi, leading to the unnecessary waste money. After she picked Aiden from his school, Louis drove them back to the mansion."Thank you so much for today. The workload would have been more hectic for me if not for your help." Alyssa thanked sincerely as she as she stared at the mansion's huge gate before them."It's fine. Just make sure to let me know whenever you need help with anything. I'm just a phonecall away." Louis said with a small assuring smile."I will." Alyssa answered as she climbed out of t
Ezekiel woke up feeling better than he did the day before. His wounds had already started healing but it was just a gradual process. He still felt pains on the deeper cuts.As he tried to sit up on the hospital bed, he felt the weight of someone holding him down. His insides bubbled happily as he thought Alyssa came back to stay with him. He had sent Cindy away yesterday so the only person who would be here with him should be Alyssa.Well, that was his hope bit it quickly faded away when he turned to his side and saw Cindy sleeping next to him like a baby. The initial joy he had slowly faded away and was replaced with disappointment. That still didn't stop him from searching for Alyssa as he thought she would still come back to him. There's no way she would ever leave him alone at the hospital. She wasn't that heartless."Alyssa?" He called out as his eyes wandered around his ward frantically. His loud voice disrupted Cindy's sleep and she woke up immediately."You're awake.." She mut
Alyssa boarded a taxi and it drove them back to the mansion as per her request. She paid the driver before entering into the huge building with Aiden by her side.It was already late and Aiden had eaten to his fill back at the restaurant so she took him straight into their room. Even though Ezekiel had already prepared a separate room for Aiden, she still didn't let him out of her sight. She never trusted anyone in the mansion. Back when she was the only one there, she knew how much she had suffered in the hands of everyone living there. She doesn't even let the servants touch her son or even prepare any food to feed him because she knew no one there liked her. They all worked for her enemies so she was always on guard whenever she was around them. Some people might call her a paranoid person but after what had happeend at the restaurant today, her actions became justified. She realized that as long as she stayed there, she couldn't trust just anyone here in Moonstone keepers pack.Ev
Ezekiel made Alyssa and Aiden ride with him to the hospital. Since he was badly injured, one of the wolf warriors that helped subdue the rogue drove the car.He didn't want any other complications with Alyssa so he didn't let Cindy use the same car they used despite her trying to convince him that she should be the one to go with him.The ride to the hospital was suffocatingly silent and unbearable for Ezekiel. Even though Alyssa had chosen to accompany him to the hospital, she still didn't really cared much about his situation. At first, he thought it was fine as long as she came with him, he thought he only needed her presence but now, he knows he wanted mre than that. She was close to him but she didn't even spare him one glance. She poured all of her attention on Aiden, tenderly soothing him while he was made to watch from across the vehicle. She was supposed to be treating him that way because he was the injured one.He hoped she would at least spare him a short glance. Even thou
The wave had been calmed but Alysssa still felt an inner turmoil. The rogue that attcked them was definitely no ordinary one. One could easily tell he was either sent to kill her son or just had a grudge with the child. Why would a rogue who haven't even crossed paths with her son before have a grudge with him to the extent that it would try to end him?? It was definitely not the latter. She was sure someone had hired the rogue. She didn't know about anyone she had offended in Grim hunter's pack but here in Moonstone keepers pack, she knows she has a lot of enemies. There are a whole bunch of people that hated her but she never expected they would go after her son. Worst of all, she can't pinpoint who sent the rogue now that it is dead.Seeing the dead rogue reminded her of her past. How her family and pack were said to be wiped out by them. Though she doesn't remember how it happened, it still gave her chills. If the rogue hadn't been subdued, would she have lost another person that
Seeing the rogue wolf lunge towards his family at full force, Ezekiel set to action immediately. He didn't waste any time as all that was in his mind was protecting them at all cost.Forgetting he could shift into his full wolf form too, he ran towards his family and shielded them with his body from harm. The rogue's sharp and long claws dug into his brand shoulders, sending searing pain to his back.Since he had used his human form to block the attacks, the pain hit him worse than it should have but he didn't flinch as protecting his family was his top priority. At that moment, something hurt him more than the pain should have. When he shielded Alyssa and Aiden with his body, his eyes met with Alyssa's and he didn't miss how shocked she was and the look of disbelief that was all over her face as she watched him shield her and their son from harm. Her disbelief increased when she saw the blood seeping through his back. The emotions he saw on her face hurt more than the wound he got fr
It's been a week since Ezekiel had that clash with Alyssa. A week since he's last been in close proximity with her. He's been avoiding her so he doesn't have to hear her demands of accepting her rejection. He had already made the decision of not letting her go. No matter how hard she tries or whatever she does to him, he was never going to let her and his son go.So he made the choice to avoid her so she doesn't have to bring the topic up to his face anymore. Hearing her mention rejection only reminds him of her departure years ago and it breaks his heart the more.It hurts him so bad that after all these years that had passed, all the years they had spent being separated, she still didn't feel the loneliness he did. She still chose to walk away again and again.Being away from her felt like hell but that was the only thing he could do to keep her with him. Even though he couldn't be really close to her, she was still with him and she wasn't leaving anytime soon.To reduce the extreme
Louis never expected to cross paths with Alyssa this way even though he was well aware that Ezekiel had brought her back. Seeing her again only stirred up feelings he had tried so hard to suppress. He didn't know how she could do it but she was looking more beautiful than than the last time he saw her. He was so happy to meet her again but it didn't look like she felt the same way.Upon seeing him, she stood up immediately and turned to leave but he was fast enough to catch up with her. He was disappointed that she didn't feel the same happiness he felt but he couldn't blame her.Their last meeting didn't really end up in a good tone so she might have just felt awkward in front of him. He put on a bright smile to cover up his feelings and called out to her again."Alyssa.." He said as he turned to stand in front of her.Alyssa groaned inwardly. Who would have thought she would see him here again. Now, Lily wasn't here with her to help out. Seeing there was no way out of the situation,
