Chapter 8 She needs to disappear

"Cindy, why did you lie?" Ezekiel turned around, his eyes dark and cold as he stared at her.

Cindy's heart sank, a wave of fear washing over her. She had always believed that no matter how much she hurt Alyssa, Ezekiel would stand by her side. She had long considered him her possession, but now, his gaze felt unfamiliar.

"I didn’t…" Cindy stammered, trying to defend herself, but her voice grew weaker, as if even she didn’t believe her own words.

Ezekiel didn’t give her a chance. He quickly pulled out his phone and played the surveillance footage from the café. The video showed Cindy standing provocatively in front of Alyssa, deliberately pouring hot coffee on herself, and then dramatically screaming.

"Why did you do this?" Ezekiel’s voice was low and icy, like a sharp blade piercing Cindy’s heart.

Cindy lowered her head, unable to meet his eyes. Her fingers clenched the bedsheet tightly, her knuckles turning white.

Ezekiel sighed, rubbing his face in exhaustion. The day had been overwhelming for him, with one thing after another piling up, leaving him no time to breathe.

"I made a promise to you and my father. I won’t break that promise, so don’t push your luck," he warned, his tone firm and unyielding.

Cindy nodded, a flicker of panic in her eyes. She had never seen Ezekiel so stern.

"If you keep causing trouble like this, I won’t hesitate to send you abroad to find your mate," he said coldly, his voice final, as if pronouncing her fate.

Cindy’s eyes widened in fear. She had never imagined Ezekiel would threaten her like this.

"I’m sorry…" she whispered, but Ezekiel had already turned and left the room, leaving her alone on the bed.

After he left, a dark expression crossed Cindy’s face. Throughout their relationship, Ezekiel had rarely been angry with her. They had only had minor arguments, mostly when he was about to marry Alyssa.

He had always been gentle and attentive to her, so this was the first time he had spoken to her in such a way. The worst part was that he had threatened to send her away—all because of Alyssa.

"If it weren’t for her, I would’ve been Ezekiel’s Luna," Cindy thought bitterly, her eyes flashing with malice. She had to act quickly before Alyssa regained her position.

"Alright, I know I was wrong. I won’t do it again," she said, hugging Ezekiel and sticking out her tongue playfully, trying to mask her unease with a sweet smile.

Ezekiel didn’t respond, only giving her a cold glance before turning to leave.

Once he was gone, Cindy quickly dialed Simon’s number.

"Simon, I need your help," she said, her voice low and urgent.

"What’s wrong, Cindy?" Simon’s voice came through the phone, tinged with concern.

"Ezekiel is starting to suspect me. I need you to handle something for me," Cindy said, her tone sharp.

"Don’t worry, I’ll take care of it," Simon replied, his voice filled with loyalty.

Cindy hung up, a cold smile curling her lips. Ezekiel would never know that Simon had long been on her side.

Ezekiel’s Resolve

After leaving Cindy’s room, Ezekiel hurried to the doctor’s office. His steps were quick and determined, as if he were racing against time.

Alyssa’s resolve to leave him had unsettled him. After tormenting him for five years, she wanted to walk away just like that?

No way!

He knocked lightly on the doctor’s door and entered without waiting for a response. The doctor was organizing files and immediately stood up, bowing respectfully.

"How are the preparations for the surgery going?" Ezekiel asked directly, his voice tinged with urgency.

"Alpha, the surgery is ready. We just need the patient to cooperate with further tests," the doctor replied.

Ezekiel nodded and continued, "What are the chances of fully restoring her voice?"

"One hundred percent success rate. As you said, her condition isn’t hereditary. With current medical technology, I can guarantee there will be no issues," the doctor answered confidently.

Ezekiel felt a slight relief. The day had finally come. He knew what this meant for Alyssa. He could already picture her joyful expression when she found out.

If she regained her voice, he would proudly introduce her to the entire pack as his Luna. If that was what she wanted, he would do it.

He would honor his father’s dying wish and treat Alyssa as his Luna.

As for Cindy, his compensation would be giving her the best material conditions, as long as she didn’t harm Alyssa. He would allow her to remain in the pack.

"What’s wrong with me?" he asked himself.

"Don’t overthink it, Ezekiel. You’re doing this to fulfill your father’s wish. Even if she regains her voice, it won’t change the fact that she’s a weak and powerless Omega," he convinced himself.

This was his final duty to her and his father. After this, he would use her as he saw fit.
