As Alyssa watch Ezekiel leave with his lover in his arms, she felt deep pain that she had never felt before. Watching him act like she didn't exist made deep cuts in her heart, damaging her the more.
How could he be so cruel to her? Even though he hated her, couldn't he feel the mate bond drawing them together? Did he hate her that much that it was able to triumph over their unbreakable mate bond?
Alyssa sighed and blinked away tears from her eyes. She needed to pull herself back to reality. Their mate bond is nothing compared to what he felt for Cindy.
She needed to realize and accept that she was nothing to him; that way, it wouldn't hurt this much. She wiped her tears and turned towards Lily. All that matters is how to get her out of this mess she put her in.
She pulled a stool and positioned it closed to Lily's bed before she sat on it.
"I'm so sorry Lily, it's all my fault." She muttered sadly as she held her hands tightly.
She stayed that way, watching Lily sleep peacefully, her mind still on the event that had happened between her, Cindy and Ezekiel earlier. She tried so hard to distract herself but it wasn't working.
That night, Ezekiel didn't come to see her once. She thought she would be fine and even get used to the fact that he preferred Cindy's company to hers but it still hurt her deeply.
She gently caressed her stomach, reaffirming her decision to divorce him. No matter how angry and stubborn he gets, she was going to leave this loveless marriage and raise their child on her own.
It didn't take long for her to fall asleep with her hands still wrapped tightly around Lily's.

~The next day~
Alyssa woke up immediately she heard the door to the ward creak open. She stared around tiredly and noticed that she was still in the hospital.
"You're awake." A voice startled her and she turned only to see Ezekiel staring at her with his usual emotionless gaze.
She stared at him in both surprise and joy. He finally came to see her. Even though he events of last night still hurt her deeply, she was really glad to see his face.
"Come on.. there's something you need to do." He said to her before leaving, not bothering to ask about her night.
Alyssa didn't care about his approach but was confused as to what he needed her to do. She decided to follow him to see for herself before his mood changes.
He took fast strides while Alyssa tried to catch up with him. Alyssa's face suddenly went pale when she realized that he was heading to an operating room. She stopped on her tracks and stared at his back in fear.
"Why is he suddenly heading to an operating room? Does he know about my baby?? Does he want to remove it like the last one??" Her heart was gripped with fear immediately.
She was reminded of the last time she was there, how she was sedated forcefully and was made to lose her last child and she panicked immediately.
When Ezekiel realised that she wasn't following him, he stopped and turned to face her.
"What are you doing?" He asked, making her jump in fear.
"H..huh??" She blinked.
"Aren't you coming?" He asked again.
"W.. what are we doing here??" She asked as pinched her fingernails nervously.
"You'll see." Ezekiel answered with a small smile, irking her the more.
"Is he so glad to murder our second child??" She asked herself, tears brimming at the corner of her eyes.
"Come on, you're wasting time." Ezekiel urged but she didn't budge.
"I don't want to do it." She told him in sign language.
"What?"
"I don't want to have the surgery." She added.
"Why not? This is the best decision for you." He said as he walked towards her and attempted to touch her but she moved away.
"I know what's best for me and I'm telling you, I don't want to have the surgery." She told him, standing her ground.
Ezekiel sighed as he rubbed his head in frustration. "Don't make this harder than it already is Alyssa. Do as I say or I'll have to use force." He warned.
"No!! Nothing will make me have this surgery." She said in sign language as she wrapped her hands protectively around her belly.
Ezekiel stared at her in surprise, wondering why she was so hell bent on not having the surgery when that was all she had ever dreamt of; to be able to finally talk.
He was tired of her being a nuisance so he quickly grabbed her before she could run and pulled her with him despite her cries and pleas of not wanting the surgery.
"In a few hours time, you'll realize that it was all for you own good." He muttered as he pulled her with him towards the room but that didn't stop her from resisting.
When it was too much, he stopped and held her in place. His eyes were cold as ice as he glared angrily at her. Seeing that he was getting angry, she stopped thrashing around immediately for fear of what he was going to do to her.
"You had better behave yourself and not disappoint me because this surgery is going to take place whether you like it or not." He warned coldly. Alyssa's heart sank.
He had already made his decision and she knew his resolve was unshakable no matter how hard she tried. She nodded slowly, regretting why she couldn't protect this baby too.
Just then, Simon walked in. He was Ezekiel's Beta and he claimed he needed Alyssa's help in signing Lily's medical documents as she was Lily's guardian at the moment.
Alyssa quickly followed him without without asking any questions as it helped her to escape Ezekiel's heartless sight. As she followed him, she realized they were going the wrong path.
She was about to ask where he was going when he finally stopped walking. He gave a small bow to someone before leaving. After he left, Alyssa could finally see who it was.
She was shocked to find Cindy waiting for her. Her legs were crossed as she stared at Alyssa with pure disgust and hatred. Knowing this wouldn't end well, Alyssa was about to take her leave when Cindy uttered something that made her stop on her spot.
"After your surgery, Ezekiel and I are planning to finally get married." She announced with a smug smile dancing on her lips.
Alyssa felt like a sharp knife had been pierced deeply into her heart. Ezekiel had finally decided to get married to his lover so that was the reason he wanted to murder their second child.
That was the moment she realized that it was indeed over for them. Ezekiel never had any feelings for her even though she hoped he would. She felt so heart broken at the reality.
She was filled with despair as she silently head back to the operating room. Ezekiel noticed how her countenance had dropped and wanted to ask what had happened but he held himself back.
Only when inside the operating room Alyssa realized that it wasn't an abortion but to restore her voice. On a normal day, she would have been very happy; with the thought that Ezekiel did it to help her.
Today was different as the news Cindy broke to her made her realize that Ezekiel was only doing it because of his father's wishes. So, it didn't matter to her anymore. Her heart had already been broken beyond repair by the man she loved the most.
After the surgery, her voice was restored but she felt no joy. Ezekiel was brimming with smiles ss he entered the ward they had transferred her into. This was a rare sight and that made Alyssa wonder if he was that happy to finally send her off.
"You just had surgery so you have to rest and avoid speaking too much." He said in a soft voice which was unlike him but Alyssa was too heartbroken to notice.
"Also, the café you're working at has been closed so you don't have to leave the house anymore." He instructed her but Alyssa didn't reply him.
After being in a comfortable silence for a while, she decided to make her decision known even though it would hurt her forever.
Her voice was hoarse and deep but her words were firm and clear. "I Alyssa Gray reject you Ezekiel Crawford." She spoke her first sentence ever.
Ezekiel felt a sharp pain in his heart the moment he heard that. His wolf wasn't left out either. He could hear him howling in pain from within.
"W..why??" His voice broke as he asked.
"I don't want to be trapped in this loveless marriage anymore. Please let me go."
"I Alyssa Gray reject you Ezekiel Crawford." She spoke her first sentence ever.Ezekiel felt a sharp pain in his heart the moment he heard that. His wolf wasn't left out either. He could hear him howling in pain from within. It felt like his heart was being pierced by a sharp knife."W..why??" He stuttered out painfully. Never had he thought she would ever utter those painful words."I don't want to be trapped in this loveless marriage anymore. Please let me go." She muttered, not caring how pained he looked. From the first day they met, he had always noticed the look she gave him. She never bothered to hide how deeply she was in love with but now that he was staring at her, he noticed how much she had changed. Her eyes that used to hold warmth and deep affection for him had suddenly changed to a cold one that was filled with pain, anger, resentment and deep regret."But you love me.." He muttered."I did but not anymore. All that I feel for you at the moment is sheer disappointment.
《Earlier that day》Ezekiel wasn't really expecting Alyssa to come back to the operating room on her own because of they way she had begged and fought to not have the surgery. When he noticed her change in emotions, he wondered what might have gone wrong with Lily. Did he do something irreversible to her? He wanted to ask what was going on but he held himself back. He didn't want to give her any delusions that he still cared. As the surgery went on, Ezekiel waited outside the room. He appeared calm to others but inside, he was filled with anxiety and worry about Alyssa's surgery.Even though the doctor had already assured him that it would be successful, it didn't really put him at ease. All of a sudden, he felt someone standing beside him.It was Cindy. Since she already had her plan in motion, she figured her and Ezekiel would finally be together after Alyssa's surgery but what she didn't expect was his reaction."What are you doing here?" He suddenly asked coldly."I figured I shoul
☆Five years later☆•~Grim hunters pack~Alyssa was dressed in a white chef's coat with a net cap covering her hair as she busily worked in the kitchen, crafting new pastries. The restaurant, "Sweet Momemts" was filled to the brim by customers that wanted to have a taste of the Alyssa's famous desserts. It's been five whole years since Alyssa decided to leave Moonstone keepers pack, a place that was supposed to serve as solace for her but ended up scarring her deeply.Five years since she decided to leave her past behind and start a new life with Lily and her unborn child and five years of not regretting her decision once.Since leaving Moonstone keepers pack, she and Lily used the money they managed to gather in their once opened café and they rented a small storefront. It wasn't really easy as she was pregnant at that time but thanks to her exquisite baking skills and unique creativity, accompanied by Lily's constant support, they were able to make the business flourish.Little by li
Ezekiel whom had been lost in his thoughts was snapped back to the present when he heard his name being called repeatedly by Simon.Simon was briefing him on decisions that needed his attention, though Ezekiel thought that many of them could be handled by his Beta."We have an upcoming elite gathering this evening and as Alpha, you're supposed to attend it." Simon reminded Ezekiel and he nodded in understanding. He understood but his pack had lacked a Luna since Alyssa's departure. How was he going to attend without his Luna? Hearing his words, his wolf couldn't help but scoff."Like you have ever thought of taking her to any of the pack's gathering before.. Even though she was still here, you would never have thought of bringing her to the event." He mocked.Ezekiel knew it was the truth and that only made him angry. He couldn't stand his wolf constantly reminding him about how badly he had treated Alyssa so he blocked off the connection with him.No matter how his wolf made it seem
"Why don't you get yourself a girlfriend even though you haven't found your mate? At least if you have one, you wouldn't have to visit us occasionally." Lily argued after finding out about his intentions of traveling to Grim hunters pack.Alyssa listened inattentively as they argued amongst themselves as she was already used to their constant bickering but her ears perked up the moment she heard Louis accidentally mentioned something about Ezekiel."You think I don't wish to have a girlfriend? It's a mess here you know, since Ezekiel doesn't have a Luna yet, getting a girlfriend would seem unacceptable." Louis answered unknowingly. It wasn't what she had expected to happen after their separation and that only piqued her interest. Lily paused and stared at Alyssa to see if she had any reaction to what Louis had just said but she just stared down silently like she was deep in thoughts. With a nervous chuckle; "What are you even saying?" She asked as she tried to change the subject but L
Aiden who had been listening to their conversation the whole time suddenly opened his mouth to ask;"Are you trying to woo my mom uncle Louis?" He asked as he blinked innocently. Both Alysssa and Louis stared at him in shock, not expecting such a question from him. Even though he sounded innocent, such a question was too mature to come from a child like him.Shock wasn't the only emotion Louis was feeling. He could feel his face slowly get hot and a deep shade of pink found it's way to his cheeks. When Alyssa noticed how shy and uncomfortable he seemed, she decided to come to his aid."Louis isn't tryung to woo mommy, Aiden. He is just a really good friend of mine, right?" She asked as she stared at him, hoping that he would confirm her statement so the awkward situation would end.Louis felt like he was under the spotlight as both mother and son stared deeply at him. He was tempted to agree with Alyssa but he just couldn't stay that way anymore.Even though she keeps acting oblivious
It's been days since Ezekiel had that intense argument with Cindy. Since then, he avoided her completely. He was too frustrated and exhausted to engage in another argument with her.Five years ago, under the compulsion of his wolf, he signed the divorce papers that Alyssa had sent him and he also cut off her access to all of the credit cards she owned; the ones that he gave her.He thought that financially distancing her would make her come back to her senses and then she would return back to him. That was just his wishful thinking as five years had passed and he hadn't seen even her shadow.Even the wolf trackers he had sent to find her had no trace of her, like though she had completely disappeared from the earth. He was slowly losing hope of ever seeing her again. He couldn't deal with the pain and intense longing for her so he buried himself with work, hoping it would keep him busy and numb the pain he was feeling. He couldn't bring himself to return to the home they lived togethe
"Do you think he will be alright?" She asked Lily as she watched him drive off."Don't worry, he'll heal from this." Lily answered but that didn't stop Alyssa from feeling guilty for lying and breaking his heart."Did we have to go that far?" She asked Lily again, referring to them lying about being in a relationship."If we hadn't, your rejection would have been for nothing. I know my brother, you just rejecting him wasn't going to stop him." Lily explained."I see that now." Alyssa muttered with a small nod."But I would still prefer you give me a heads up anytime you want to do something as bizarre as this." Alyssa added."And miss the hilarious look on your face? Hell no!!" Lily answered with a chuckle and that made Alyssa laugh also, slowly easing her from the guilt she was feeling. On their way home, Alyssa and Lily laughed, with Lily's playfulness lifting Alyssa's spirits. They tucked Aiden into bed that night, and Alyssa went to bed with a smile on her face, feeling grateful f
A low growl let Ezekiel's mouth after he released in her. He collapsed on her but held his weight with his hand from crushing her fragile body. He could hear her soft pants and low moans which were like music to his ears.No matter how angry he gets with her, a session with her was always enough to cool him off. He raised up his head which were on her shoulders and stared at her beautiful face. Her long black hair was all over her sweaty face, sticking unto her flesh. He raised his hands up and was about to move the hair covering her face when she suddenly pushed him away and moved to the other side of the bed like someone was chasing her.He stared at her in both surprise and confusion, wondering why she suddenly ran away from him. She had just been screaming out his name at the top of her lungs few seconds ago."Is she trying to act like she didn't know what she was doing?" Ezekiel asked himself with a sudden burst of amusement. His amusement quickly vanished when he saw the look on
After seeing the picture sent from the unknown number, Alyssa placed her phone on the table and continued with what she was doing. She didn't want to think about anything concerning Ezekiel nor Cindy so she drowned herself with work. She worked so meticulously in tidying up the bakery with Louis and within a few hours, they were done. After that, Louis offered to drive her to Aiden's school to help pick him up and she agreed immediately. It was easier to do that than to wait to board a taxi, leading to the unnecessary waste money. After she picked Aiden from his school, Louis drove them back to the mansion."Thank you so much for today. The workload would have been more hectic for me if not for your help." Alyssa thanked sincerely as she as she stared at the mansion's huge gate before them."It's fine. Just make sure to let me know whenever you need help with anything. I'm just a phonecall away." Louis said with a small assuring smile."I will." Alyssa answered as she climbed out of t
Ezekiel woke up feeling better than he did the day before. His wounds had already started healing but it was just a gradual process. He still felt pains on the deeper cuts.As he tried to sit up on the hospital bed, he felt the weight of someone holding him down. His insides bubbled happily as he thought Alyssa came back to stay with him. He had sent Cindy away yesterday so the only person who would be here with him should be Alyssa.Well, that was his hope bit it quickly faded away when he turned to his side and saw Cindy sleeping next to him like a baby. The initial joy he had slowly faded away and was replaced with disappointment. That still didn't stop him from searching for Alyssa as he thought she would still come back to him. There's no way she would ever leave him alone at the hospital. She wasn't that heartless."Alyssa?" He called out as his eyes wandered around his ward frantically. His loud voice disrupted Cindy's sleep and she woke up immediately."You're awake.." She mut
Alyssa boarded a taxi and it drove them back to the mansion as per her request. She paid the driver before entering into the huge building with Aiden by her side.It was already late and Aiden had eaten to his fill back at the restaurant so she took him straight into their room. Even though Ezekiel had already prepared a separate room for Aiden, she still didn't let him out of her sight. She never trusted anyone in the mansion. Back when she was the only one there, she knew how much she had suffered in the hands of everyone living there. She doesn't even let the servants touch her son or even prepare any food to feed him because she knew no one there liked her. They all worked for her enemies so she was always on guard whenever she was around them. Some people might call her a paranoid person but after what had happeend at the restaurant today, her actions became justified. She realized that as long as she stayed there, she couldn't trust just anyone here in Moonstone keepers pack.Ev
Ezekiel made Alyssa and Aiden ride with him to the hospital. Since he was badly injured, one of the wolf warriors that helped subdue the rogue drove the car.He didn't want any other complications with Alyssa so he didn't let Cindy use the same car they used despite her trying to convince him that she should be the one to go with him.The ride to the hospital was suffocatingly silent and unbearable for Ezekiel. Even though Alyssa had chosen to accompany him to the hospital, she still didn't really cared much about his situation. At first, he thought it was fine as long as she came with him, he thought he only needed her presence but now, he knows he wanted mre than that. She was close to him but she didn't even spare him one glance. She poured all of her attention on Aiden, tenderly soothing him while he was made to watch from across the vehicle. She was supposed to be treating him that way because he was the injured one.He hoped she would at least spare him a short glance. Even thou
The wave had been calmed but Alysssa still felt an inner turmoil. The rogue that attcked them was definitely no ordinary one. One could easily tell he was either sent to kill her son or just had a grudge with the child. Why would a rogue who haven't even crossed paths with her son before have a grudge with him to the extent that it would try to end him?? It was definitely not the latter. She was sure someone had hired the rogue. She didn't know about anyone she had offended in Grim hunter's pack but here in Moonstone keepers pack, she knows she has a lot of enemies. There are a whole bunch of people that hated her but she never expected they would go after her son. Worst of all, she can't pinpoint who sent the rogue now that it is dead.Seeing the dead rogue reminded her of her past. How her family and pack were said to be wiped out by them. Though she doesn't remember how it happened, it still gave her chills. If the rogue hadn't been subdued, would she have lost another person that
Seeing the rogue wolf lunge towards his family at full force, Ezekiel set to action immediately. He didn't waste any time as all that was in his mind was protecting them at all cost.Forgetting he could shift into his full wolf form too, he ran towards his family and shielded them with his body from harm. The rogue's sharp and long claws dug into his brand shoulders, sending searing pain to his back.Since he had used his human form to block the attacks, the pain hit him worse than it should have but he didn't flinch as protecting his family was his top priority. At that moment, something hurt him more than the pain should have. When he shielded Alyssa and Aiden with his body, his eyes met with Alyssa's and he didn't miss how shocked she was and the look of disbelief that was all over her face as she watched him shield her and their son from harm. Her disbelief increased when she saw the blood seeping through his back. The emotions he saw on her face hurt more than the wound he got fr
It's been a week since Ezekiel had that clash with Alyssa. A week since he's last been in close proximity with her. He's been avoiding her so he doesn't have to hear her demands of accepting her rejection. He had already made the decision of not letting her go. No matter how hard she tries or whatever she does to him, he was never going to let her and his son go.So he made the choice to avoid her so she doesn't have to bring the topic up to his face anymore. Hearing her mention rejection only reminds him of her departure years ago and it breaks his heart the more.It hurts him so bad that after all these years that had passed, all the years they had spent being separated, she still didn't feel the loneliness he did. She still chose to walk away again and again.Being away from her felt like hell but that was the only thing he could do to keep her with him. Even though he couldn't be really close to her, she was still with him and she wasn't leaving anytime soon.To reduce the extreme
Louis never expected to cross paths with Alyssa this way even though he was well aware that Ezekiel had brought her back. Seeing her again only stirred up feelings he had tried so hard to suppress. He didn't know how she could do it but she was looking more beautiful than than the last time he saw her. He was so happy to meet her again but it didn't look like she felt the same way.Upon seeing him, she stood up immediately and turned to leave but he was fast enough to catch up with her. He was disappointed that she didn't feel the same happiness he felt but he couldn't blame her.Their last meeting didn't really end up in a good tone so she might have just felt awkward in front of him. He put on a bright smile to cover up his feelings and called out to her again."Alyssa.." He said as he turned to stand in front of her.Alyssa groaned inwardly. Who would have thought she would see him here again. Now, Lily wasn't here with her to help out. Seeing there was no way out of the situation,
