Before Elisa could regain her composure, the door was flung open again with a bang. She hurriedly covered her naked body with the bedsheet. When she saw who it was, her pain began to rise again.
It was Hera, Ezekiel's mother, who loathed her even more than Ezekiel did.
Upon noticing her state, Hera's face creased into a deep frown. "Why are you crying?" she said with disgust. "Ezekiel is your husband, your mate, your Alpha, so you must accept everything he does to you without complaint, for that is your duty."
Elisa silently dressed herself, unable to refute her. She had to get up and do the housework, or her humiliation would not stop for the day. But Hera's humiliation continued.
"Enough! My son is so unlucky that the Moon Goddess chose you as his mate! Now...hurry up and get dressed. You must work now. If my precious grandson's birthday is ruined due to your laziness, I will make sure Ezekiel punishes you," she ordered, giving Elisa one last disdainful look before leaving the room.
The grandson Hera spoke of was the son of Ezekiel's sister Emma. Not long after she was bound to Ezekiel, his sister Emma found her fated mate and they tied the knot. It didn't take long for her to be pregnant and tomorrow is the child's first birthday.
Like being continuously bullied wasn't enough, Alyssa became a servant immediately after Ezekiel's father's death. Even though there were a lot of servants to do the work, they still made her do most of the chores.
As a result of that, all of the servants see her as nothing but a mere slave that was beneath them. Alyssa sighed deeply and stood up from the bed shakily as her legs still haven't healed from the earlier event.
She entered the closet and immediately changed into a pair of trousers and a T-shirt. She had no time to wash up because she didn't want Sheila to call on her for the second time. She knew what would happen next if she delayed much longer.
After putting on her clothes, she set to work immediately. After stepping into the midst of the other servants, she immediately heard the soft whispers and noticed the disgusted stares she got from them.
"She's here finally, back to her place."
"Look at what she's putting on." A soft snicker followed after that statement.
"I wonder what the Alpha sees in her to make her his bed mate." Someone whispered making a sad smile appear on her face. Not even the servant would believe that she was his mate with the way Ezekiel, his lover, and his family openly treated her.
"Sharing a bed with the Alpha can never get you a higher status. I mean, look at her.. she's just a weak whore that's beneath us mere servants." Another one muttered and the rest of them burst out laughing.
Alyssa bowed her head silently, trying to hold back her pain and anger. She took deep breaths as a way to calm herself down. She knew nothing would ever come out of picking a fight with them.
How could she win when she was unable to make a sound to defend herself? She could only ignore them and continue with the work assigned to her. After working endlessly for several hours, they were finally done with the preparations.
Emma wanted it to be a grand event so it took them more time and effort to set the place up. Alyssa wanted to retire back to her room and take a small nap before the event fully began when a servant suddenly passed by her, roughly shoving her aside in the process.
As a result of her violent push, Alyssa lost her balance and fell hard on the bare floor. She held my back in panic, hoping her baby wasn't hurt.
Instead of apologizing, the servant smirked evilly at her and muttered "Dumb bitch..." before walking away.
Realizing that the maid had done it on purpose, Alyssa was furious that she had to be strong for her children. She stood up and walked towards the servant. She turned the servant to face her and slapped her so hard that she took a step back.
The maid clutched her aching cheeks and widened her eyes. She didn't expect Alyssa to fight back. "How dare you hit me!" She screamed loudly and said, raising her hand angrily, just as she was about to fight back, she suddenly stopped in mid-air.
Alyssa noticed the trembling of fear in her eyes.
"Alpha Ezekiel ..." She immediately lowered her head and said respectfully.
"Leave..." Ezekiel ordered in a low voice, and she ran away immediately.
Alyssa turned to stare at Ezekiel in surprise, wondering why he had chased the servant off instead of watching others humiliate her like he used to before.
"You!!" He said as he suddenly gripped her shoulder harshly, pulling her towards him. She couldn't even make a groan even though she felt she could slump at any moment under his violence.
He's with an Alpha wolf, whose power was ten times stronger than a wolfless omega like her.
"Don't get any delusions. Today's my nephew's birthday and I want everything to be perfect."
"I expect you to do as you always do, stay out of my sight and avoid drawing any attention towards you. I hope I've made myself clear??" He asked as he tightened his hold on her shoulder.
A soft sob left her mouth as she nodded in understanding. He let out a small 'humph' before he let go of her and walked away. Alyssa stood at her spot as she watched him disappear from my sight.
His cold back seemed to be what he had left her the most since they were mated. Ezekiel always cherished his family, but that didn't include her. Once again, her eyes fell on her flat belly. The memory of how she lost her first baby before was still vivid. What about this time? Would Ezekiel accept this baby?
She had no answer. Thankfully no more trouble after that interlude. The party finally began and the hall was filled to the brim with a lot of guests.

Emma was a well-known lady and even with her horrible character, she still managed to gather rich and powerful allies from everywhere she went. Alyssa was standing in a far corner watching silently as the whole family gathered happily.
Everyone looked at the stars of the day with delight. Alyssa's eyes were filled with envy as she watched Emma seated closely next to her husband
with their child in his arms.
She had everything Alyssa had ever dreamed of, a loving husband and family. Alyssa thought of her own pregnancy, wondering what it would feel like to be finally able to carry her baby in her arms.
As she was deeply immersed in her thoughts, she suddenly heard her name being called. Emma had waved at her to offer her a drink. It made Alyssa finally visible to the guests but no one would know she was actually Ezekiel's Luna.
Alyssa had been used to Emma liking to command me like a queen but she didn't expect her quality to be low like this when she whispered at her ears;
"Alyssa, you must be very jealous now, right?"
Alyssa quickly glanced at her smug expression knowing there wasn't going to be anything nice from her mouth. She wanted to leave but Emma gripped her hand, holding her back.
"I bet you'd never get such a beautiful moment like this," She began.
"After all, your muteness would be passed down to your children. If else, what do you think my brother was so repulsed by your pregnancy before?"
Alyssa balled her hands but couldn't stop shivering in anger.
Emma knew that her inability to speak wasn't hereditary but she just didn't want to miss any chances to humiliate her. She knew exactly how much Alyssa had suffered when she was forced to give up her first child, but she just enjoyed it.
"Trust me, no one would want a mute like you as a family. You'd better give up early and set my brother free.” As if not seeing Alyssa's pain at all, she turned to hold Ezekiel's arms like a spoilt sister.
"Brother, when will you divorce and then marry Cindy? Our pack needs a more decent Luna and a strong heir." Alyssa wanted to do something to defend myself but when her eyes met with Ezekiel's warning gaze, she immediately withdrew and that made Emma smirk more at her.
"Her condition isn't hereditary so there's no way any offspring from her would have her condition." Ezekiel suddenly said, making Alyssa stun at her spot.
Emma also opened her mouth in shock. It had been a long time since they confirmed their relationship. This was the second time today.
"But I will never let a weak and wolf-free Omega like her bear my children," he continued, adding that Alyssa's expectations were once again dashed.
Emma's wicked face smiled again. She turned to Alyssa smugly, as if to say, don't get your hopes up, my brother will never accept you.
So, that was his true heart, wasn't it? He still hated to have a child with her...then what about the child she's carrying now? Will they do the same horrible thing to it again?
Alyssa didn't remember how she went through the party as her whole heart was worrying about the future of her baby. The next morning she stood in front of the mirror, a pale reflection staring back at her.Her eyes were dark and swollen. Obviously, she wasn't able to have a good sleep. She shook my head with a bitter smile and quickly got dressed. It was a new week and she had somewhere to go.She curved her lips as she stared at the huge signboard of a Cafe. HEAVEN CAFÉ was the only place in this city that could help distract her from all of her problems back at home. She managed to find herself a job here."Alyssa!!" Alyssa heard her name being called the moment she entered the café. Her smile widened when she saw Lily walking towards her with her arms opened wide for a hug."I missed you so much." She muttered as she embraced Alyssa tightly."Seriously?? I was only gone for a day." Alyssa told her with sign language and Lily immediately understood."A day?? It felt more like foreve
When Alyssa regained consciousness, she found herself in an unfamiliar environment. She blinked severally as she tried to get used to the bright light in the room. She looked around only to find out that she was in the hospital."How did I get here? The last thing I remembered was falling off my bike and..." She panicked immediately when the memory hit her. She touched her belly immediately like she would be able to feel anything."My baby!" She thought to myself anxiously. The door to her ward opened and Lily walked in."You're awake." She muttered happily and at the same time, in a worried tone."What happened to my baby? Is it.." Alyssa signed to her anxiously, not able to complete the question."Don't worry.. the baby is okay." Lily assured and Alyssa heaved a huge sigh of relief. She didn’t know what she would have done if she lost this one too."Why didn't you tell me you were pregnant? Why did I have to find it out after you almost lost your life?" Lily asked, disappointment la
"I've thought about it deeply and I think now is the best time to finally honor your wishes. Let's end this marriage.. let's get a divorce." Alyssa told him.His dark and hooded eyes were filled with shock as he stared the divorce papers but it was just for a few seconds. The surprise in his eyes immediately changed into fury."Are you cheating on me?" He suddenly asked.Alyssa stared at him in surprise, not expecting such a question from him of all people."Is he trying to pull a prank on me or what?" She asked herself as she scrutinized him only to realize that he was dead serious.Seriously?? Alyssa scoffed and shook her head slowly. After giving him what he had always wished to have, the first thing that left his mouth was such a dumb question."Please sign the papers quickly so we can register our divorce." She told him curtly with hand sign language as she wasn't in the mood to answer his questions. She was about to leave when he suddenly pulled her back harshly, making her stu
《The next day》~Heaven café~After Ezekiel left the house last night, Alyssa never set eyes on him again. She knew where he had spent the night but she didn't care anymore. She had finally made the decision to end her marriage with him so whatever he does with his life is none of her business any longer. She was at the café with Lily, just lazing around as there were no customers at that moment when we heard a loud revving sound. She looked outside only to see a fancy looking sports car entering the driveway.Alyssa sighed deeply when she realized who owned the car. The sports car was Ezekiel's gift to Cindy on her last birthday. She knew that because Cindy never failed to show it off at every given opportunity she had. After she had parked the car, Cindy emerged out of it, wearing a fancy looking short dress and heels to match. She really looked like a model. It was so surprise that someone like Ezekiel would fall deeply in love with her."What is that bitch doing here??" Lily asked
Alyssa’s heart hurt deeply as she heard the deep pain engraved in her voice. It was more painful that she couldn't even utter any word to ask where she was. She knew this was going to happen but why did she have to leave her on her own??"It should be me instead. Ezekiel should have inflicted the pains on me. Lily only did what she did to defend me." Alyssa thought to herself in pain. It was really frustrating that she could only listen to her so she ended the call without warning. She sent her a text asking her where she was and she replied immediately; sending Alyssa the address to the hospital she was admitted in. Alyssa stood up from her bed and put on better clothes before rushing out of the house.☆☆☆☆☆Alyssa took in deep breathes, trying to catch her breath as she stood in front of the huge hospital building. She had practically ran down here because she forgot to take her phone and some cash with her. She heaved one last time before entering the building. She didn't bother to
"You and your friend are nothing but trouble." Ezekiel added as he rubbed his head tiredly. His next few words got stuck on his throat the moment he saw the look in her eyes.It seemed like she was about to cry. He had always enjoyed making her cry so what was wrong now? Why is he suddenly feeling regrets? She deserved every hate that was coming from him so he shouldn't feel any hint of compassion for her."If I'm nothing but trouble to you, why don't you sign the divorce papers?" Alyssa asked him in sign language and he went still immediately. She still hadn't let go of the thought of leaving him. What else did he have to do to show her that there wasn't any escaping from him ever?? He will only let go of her when he's done.He could also feel the anger from his wolf as they were one. He was about to say something when his wolf suddenly took over. His eyes turned glowing red but the reaction from Alyssa wasn't something he had expected. She moved back a little and batted her eyelashe
As Alyssa watch Ezekiel leave with his lover in his arms, she felt deep pain that she had never felt before. Watching him act like she didn't exist made deep cuts in her heart, damaging her the more. How could he be so cruel to her? Even though he hated her, couldn't he feel the mate bond drawing them together? Did he hate her that much that it was able to triumph over their unbreakable mate bond?Alyssa sighed and blinked away tears from her eyes. She needed to pull herself back to reality. Their mate bond is nothing compared to what he felt for Cindy. She needed to realize and accept that she was nothing to him; that way, it wouldn't hurt this much. She wiped her tears and turned towards Lily. All that matters is how to get her out of this mess she put her in.She pulled a stool and positioned it closed to Lily's bed before she sat on it."I'm so sorry Lily, it's all my fault." She muttered sadly as she held her hands tightly. She stayed that way, watching Lily sleep peacefully, her
"I Alyssa Gray reject you Ezekiel Crawford." She spoke her first sentence ever.Ezekiel felt a sharp pain in his heart the moment he heard that. His wolf wasn't left out either. He could hear him howling in pain from within. It felt like his heart was being pierced by a sharp knife."W..why??" He stuttered out painfully. Never had he thought she would ever utter those painful words."I don't want to be trapped in this loveless marriage anymore. Please let me go." She muttered, not caring how pained he looked. From the first day they met, he had always noticed the look she gave him. She never bothered to hide how deeply she was in love with but now that he was staring at her, he noticed how much she had changed. Her eyes that used to hold warmth and deep affection for him had suddenly changed to a cold one that was filled with pain, anger, resentment and deep regret."But you love me.." He muttered."I did but not anymore. All that I feel for you at the moment is sheer disappointment.
A low growl let Ezekiel's mouth after he released in her. He collapsed on her but held his weight with his hand from crushing her fragile body. He could hear her soft pants and low moans which were like music to his ears.No matter how angry he gets with her, a session with her was always enough to cool him off. He raised up his head which were on her shoulders and stared at her beautiful face. Her long black hair was all over her sweaty face, sticking unto her flesh. He raised his hands up and was about to move the hair covering her face when she suddenly pushed him away and moved to the other side of the bed like someone was chasing her.He stared at her in both surprise and confusion, wondering why she suddenly ran away from him. She had just been screaming out his name at the top of her lungs few seconds ago."Is she trying to act like she didn't know what she was doing?" Ezekiel asked himself with a sudden burst of amusement. His amusement quickly vanished when he saw the look on
After seeing the picture sent from the unknown number, Alyssa placed her phone on the table and continued with what she was doing. She didn't want to think about anything concerning Ezekiel nor Cindy so she drowned herself with work. She worked so meticulously in tidying up the bakery with Louis and within a few hours, they were done. After that, Louis offered to drive her to Aiden's school to help pick him up and she agreed immediately. It was easier to do that than to wait to board a taxi, leading to the unnecessary waste money. After she picked Aiden from his school, Louis drove them back to the mansion."Thank you so much for today. The workload would have been more hectic for me if not for your help." Alyssa thanked sincerely as she as she stared at the mansion's huge gate before them."It's fine. Just make sure to let me know whenever you need help with anything. I'm just a phonecall away." Louis said with a small assuring smile."I will." Alyssa answered as she climbed out of t
Ezekiel woke up feeling better than he did the day before. His wounds had already started healing but it was just a gradual process. He still felt pains on the deeper cuts.As he tried to sit up on the hospital bed, he felt the weight of someone holding him down. His insides bubbled happily as he thought Alyssa came back to stay with him. He had sent Cindy away yesterday so the only person who would be here with him should be Alyssa.Well, that was his hope bit it quickly faded away when he turned to his side and saw Cindy sleeping next to him like a baby. The initial joy he had slowly faded away and was replaced with disappointment. That still didn't stop him from searching for Alyssa as he thought she would still come back to him. There's no way she would ever leave him alone at the hospital. She wasn't that heartless."Alyssa?" He called out as his eyes wandered around his ward frantically. His loud voice disrupted Cindy's sleep and she woke up immediately."You're awake.." She mut
Alyssa boarded a taxi and it drove them back to the mansion as per her request. She paid the driver before entering into the huge building with Aiden by her side.It was already late and Aiden had eaten to his fill back at the restaurant so she took him straight into their room. Even though Ezekiel had already prepared a separate room for Aiden, she still didn't let him out of her sight. She never trusted anyone in the mansion. Back when she was the only one there, she knew how much she had suffered in the hands of everyone living there. She doesn't even let the servants touch her son or even prepare any food to feed him because she knew no one there liked her. They all worked for her enemies so she was always on guard whenever she was around them. Some people might call her a paranoid person but after what had happeend at the restaurant today, her actions became justified. She realized that as long as she stayed there, she couldn't trust just anyone here in Moonstone keepers pack.Ev
Ezekiel made Alyssa and Aiden ride with him to the hospital. Since he was badly injured, one of the wolf warriors that helped subdue the rogue drove the car.He didn't want any other complications with Alyssa so he didn't let Cindy use the same car they used despite her trying to convince him that she should be the one to go with him.The ride to the hospital was suffocatingly silent and unbearable for Ezekiel. Even though Alyssa had chosen to accompany him to the hospital, she still didn't really cared much about his situation. At first, he thought it was fine as long as she came with him, he thought he only needed her presence but now, he knows he wanted mre than that. She was close to him but she didn't even spare him one glance. She poured all of her attention on Aiden, tenderly soothing him while he was made to watch from across the vehicle. She was supposed to be treating him that way because he was the injured one.He hoped she would at least spare him a short glance. Even thou
The wave had been calmed but Alysssa still felt an inner turmoil. The rogue that attcked them was definitely no ordinary one. One could easily tell he was either sent to kill her son or just had a grudge with the child. Why would a rogue who haven't even crossed paths with her son before have a grudge with him to the extent that it would try to end him?? It was definitely not the latter. She was sure someone had hired the rogue. She didn't know about anyone she had offended in Grim hunter's pack but here in Moonstone keepers pack, she knows she has a lot of enemies. There are a whole bunch of people that hated her but she never expected they would go after her son. Worst of all, she can't pinpoint who sent the rogue now that it is dead.Seeing the dead rogue reminded her of her past. How her family and pack were said to be wiped out by them. Though she doesn't remember how it happened, it still gave her chills. If the rogue hadn't been subdued, would she have lost another person that
Seeing the rogue wolf lunge towards his family at full force, Ezekiel set to action immediately. He didn't waste any time as all that was in his mind was protecting them at all cost.Forgetting he could shift into his full wolf form too, he ran towards his family and shielded them with his body from harm. The rogue's sharp and long claws dug into his brand shoulders, sending searing pain to his back.Since he had used his human form to block the attacks, the pain hit him worse than it should have but he didn't flinch as protecting his family was his top priority. At that moment, something hurt him more than the pain should have. When he shielded Alyssa and Aiden with his body, his eyes met with Alyssa's and he didn't miss how shocked she was and the look of disbelief that was all over her face as she watched him shield her and their son from harm. Her disbelief increased when she saw the blood seeping through his back. The emotions he saw on her face hurt more than the wound he got fr
It's been a week since Ezekiel had that clash with Alyssa. A week since he's last been in close proximity with her. He's been avoiding her so he doesn't have to hear her demands of accepting her rejection. He had already made the decision of not letting her go. No matter how hard she tries or whatever she does to him, he was never going to let her and his son go.So he made the choice to avoid her so she doesn't have to bring the topic up to his face anymore. Hearing her mention rejection only reminds him of her departure years ago and it breaks his heart the more.It hurts him so bad that after all these years that had passed, all the years they had spent being separated, she still didn't feel the loneliness he did. She still chose to walk away again and again.Being away from her felt like hell but that was the only thing he could do to keep her with him. Even though he couldn't be really close to her, she was still with him and she wasn't leaving anytime soon.To reduce the extreme
Louis never expected to cross paths with Alyssa this way even though he was well aware that Ezekiel had brought her back. Seeing her again only stirred up feelings he had tried so hard to suppress. He didn't know how she could do it but she was looking more beautiful than than the last time he saw her. He was so happy to meet her again but it didn't look like she felt the same way.Upon seeing him, she stood up immediately and turned to leave but he was fast enough to catch up with her. He was disappointed that she didn't feel the same happiness he felt but he couldn't blame her.Their last meeting didn't really end up in a good tone so she might have just felt awkward in front of him. He put on a bright smile to cover up his feelings and called out to her again."Alyssa.." He said as he turned to stand in front of her.Alyssa groaned inwardly. Who would have thought she would see him here again. Now, Lily wasn't here with her to help out. Seeing there was no way out of the situation,
