"Her condition isn’t hereditary, so her offspring wouldn’t inherit it," Ezekiel finally said, leaving Alyssa frozen in place.
Emma’s mouth hung open in shock.
This was the second time today he had defended her.
For a moment, hope flickered in Alyssa’s heart, and blood began to flow through her veins again. Her pup was accepted—or so she thought.
But Ezekiel’s voice, cold as ice, shattered her heart once more.
"But I would never let a weak, wolf-less omega like her bear my child. Never."
His gaze landed on her, then shifted away in disgust.
Emma burst into laughter, and the surrounding werewolves joined in.
Alyssa’s legs turned to jelly, and she stumbled back a step before fleeing the room.
She couldn’t remember how she escaped that suffocating space. Once outside, tears streamed down her face uncontrollably. No matter how hard she wiped, they wouldn’t stop.
The pain was unbearable. She clutched her chest. Was there any reason left to stay by Ezekiel’s side? No. His words had crushed the last shred of hope she had.
She would never tell him about her pregnancy.
Back in her room, she placed her hand on her abdomen. She had to plan her escape from the Moon Stone Keepers pack—for her pup’s sake.
But how? She was a mute without a wolf. Would any pack accept her?
In the darkness, her phone buzzed. It was a message from her best friend and coworker, Lily, a member of the Grim Hunters pack. Their territory wasn’t in this city, but when Lily had arrived here, Alyssa had helped her settle in, and they had become friends.
Almost all the wolves from different packs worked together outside the pack grounds.
"Hey, honey! I’ve created a new coffee flavor. Make sure you come to the shop early tomorrow. I almost died from exhaustion yesterday without you. Love you!"
Alyssa wiped away her tears, a firm resolve forming in her heart. She wanted a divorce. She wanted to leave the pack. She decided to join Lily’s pack—it was the only hope she had left.
She didn’t remember how she got through the night. Ezekiel didn’t even come home. Had he gone to Cindy’s place?
No! She couldn’t think about him anymore!
She had to focus on her work. For her pup, she had to work hard! She couldn’t burden Lily.
The next day, outside the café.
She looked up at the large café sign and forced a smile. Heaven Café was the only place where she could forget her troubles. She remembered Ezekiel’s reaction when she told him she had found a job.
"As long as you don’t tell anyone you’re the Luna of the Moon Stone Keepers pack, do whatever you want."
Alyssa shook her head, pushing Ezekiel’s cold face out of her mind. She pushed open the door and stepped inside.
"Alyssa!!" Lily’s voice rang out as soon as she entered. Her smile widened as she saw Lily approaching with open arms.
"I missed you so much," Lily said, pulling her into a tight hug.
"Really? I was only gone for a day," Alyssa signed, and Lily immediately understood. Lily was a beautiful and caring woman. Though not much older than Alyssa, she treated her like a sister.
She had even learned sign language for Alyssa. Though not fluent, she tried her best to understand.
"One day?? Felt like forever. Do you know how hard it was running this café alone yesterday?" Lily grumbled.
"So you didn’t miss me, just my work?" Alyssa joked, a small smile tugging at her lips.
"You got me."
"Well, I’m back now, so you won’t have to miss my service anymore," Alyssa signed, playing along with the joke. They both laughed.
Alyssa was grateful she had insisted on working. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have found the strength to keep going. Lily’s warmth and energy always comforted her. She loved it here. But she also needed to discuss her plans with Lily—she wanted to join her pack.
As Lily had predicted, the new coffee flavor made the shop busier than ever. Alyssa hadn’t had a chance to share her thoughts with Lily yet.
Suddenly, as Alyssa was delivering a cup of coffee to a customer, the order machine buzzed with an urgent delivery.
The address wasn’t far, so she decided to take it herself. However, when she arrived, she realized it was Ezekiel’s company. How had she not noticed earlier?
Ezekiel wouldn’t be happy to see her here. He had warned her never to be in the same public space as him. His company was off-limits to her.
For a moment, she considered turning back. But his secretary was outside his office. She wouldn’t have to interact with him directly.
She took a deep breath and entered the building. But the receptionist stopped her. "I’m sorry, ma’am. Alpha Ezekiel wants the delivery brought directly to his office."
Why? She didn’t want to cause trouble for Lily. Ezekiel owned most of the land in this city. That was the power of the Moon Stone Keepers pack. She headed toward his office.
"I’ll just leave it at the door," she thought, her heart racing. "Just quietly set it down and slip away. He won’t even notice—"
But Cindy’s voice pierced through the office door. "How much longer do I have to wait, Ezekiel?" Cindy shrieked. No one dared to yell at Ezekiel like that—except Cindy. Alyssa’s fists clenched in pain.
Holding onto the title of Luna was meaningless. It offered no protection for her pup.
"I’m tired of seeing that woman in my rightful place! You’re mine. I’m the one who should be your Luna!" Cindy continued to complain.
"Ezekiel, reject her already!" Cindy shouted.
"Enough, Cindy. You know my marriage to her means nothing," Ezekiel said, pulling her back into his arms and kissing her earlobe. "It’s just my father’s dying wish. You’ll always be the only one in my heart."
Alyssa took a deep breath. She thought her heart couldn’t hurt anymore, but she couldn’t stop trembling.
She had to leave as quickly as possible and discuss her plans with Lily. As she was about to set the coffee down at the door, Cindy’s sharp eyes caught her. "Alyssa?" she feigned surprise.
Ezekiel’s gaze turned to her, surprised for a second before his sharp eyes bore into her. "What are you doing here? Spying on me?"
Alyssa swallowed the lump in her throat and placed the coffee bag on his desk. If he had eyes, he’d see why she was here.
"Oh… you were delivering our order," Cindy pretended to remember, then immediately went to stroke Ezekiel’s muscular chest, soothing him. "Relax, baby… no need to be mad at her… she’s just doing her job."
"Leave. I warned you never to appear in public with me," Ezekiel commanded coldly.
Alyssa’s heart was numb from the pain. He had humiliated her in front of his mistress.
No! She had already decided to divorce Ezekiel. Cindy’s traps meant nothing to her now, as long as her pup was safe.
But as she turned to leave, Ezekiel suddenly grabbed her arm, warning, "This is the last time! Remember your place, Alyssa. Cindy will always be my only one."
Tears welled up in her eyes, but she couldn’t afford to be weak anymore. She shook off Ezekiel’s grip and walked out of his office.
Outside the building, it started pouring rain. Her head felt dizzy, and her bicycle suddenly skidded.
She tried to scream for help, but no sound came out—her silence betrayed her when she needed it most.
"Please," she begged silently, her consciousness fading. "Someone help me… I can’t lose my child… I can’t lose my child…"
When Alyssa regained consciousness, she found herself in an unfamiliar environment. She blinked, trying to adjust to the bright light in the room. As she looked around, she realized she was in a hospital."How did I get here? The last thing I remember is falling off my bike…" Panic set in as the memories flooded back. She immediately touched her stomach."My baby!" she thought anxiously. The door to the hospital room opened, and Lily walked in. "You're awake," she said with relief, though her voice was tinged with worry."How is my baby? Is it…?" Alyssa gestured frantically, unable to finish the question."Don’t worry… the baby is fine," Lily assured her, and Alyssa let out a long breath of relief. She didn’t know what she would do if she lost this child too."Why didn’t you tell me you were pregnant? Why did I only find out after you almost lost your life?" Lily asked, her voice filled with guilt."I just found out myself and was planning to tell you today," Alyssa signed, but she had
The words "Divorce Agreement" burned into Ezekiel’s eyes as he stared at the document. His gaze was so intense it felt like he was trying to scorch holes through the paper. He immediately grabbed Alyssa’s arm."Is this your new trick?" he growled through clenched teeth.Alyssa met his gaze, her expression calm as she signed, "Your father demanded that you couldn’t reject me, but he never demanded that I stay. I’ve realized how much pain our marriage has caused you. So let’s end this."Ignoring Ezekiel’s shock, she continued. "Once the divorce papers are finalized, you’ll be free to be with Cindy."After signing, Alyssa turned to leave, planning to stay at the café for the night. But Ezekiel grabbed her arm again, his grip tightening."You’re hurting me," she frowned."What the hell are you doing?!" he demanded, still not letting go."Isn’t it obvious? I’m asking for a divorce," Alyssa signed, meeting his furious gaze without flinching."A divorce?" Ezekiel sneered. "So you’ve finally g
The Next Day"Lily… I don’t want to drag you into this. I’m planning to quit the café…" Alyssa arrived at the café early in the morning, having come straight from the packaging factory. She hadn’t forgotten Ezekiel’s threat against Lily.Lily was momentarily stunned but quickly understood. Ezekiel must have threatened Alyssa."Alyssa, you don’t need to worry about me. My pack isn’t much weaker than the Moon Stone Keepers. Give me a week to handle things at the shop, and then we can leave," Lily reassured her with a gentle smile, patting her arm.Alyssa was about to say more when a loud engine roar interrupted her. She looked outside to see a luxurious sports car pulling into the driveway. Her heart sank. This car was a birthday gift Ezekiel had given to Cindy. Cindy always seized every opportunity to flaunt it, as if it were a symbol of her victory. The car door opened, and Cindy stepped out. She was wearing a flashy short skirt and high heels, walking with a sway that made it seem lik
"No! I can’t let Lily get hurt." Alyssa immediately called Ezekiel, but he didn’t answer. She then contacted his assistant, who rarely gave her trouble. She quickly got a response: Ezekiel was at the hospital.Alyssa hurriedly took a taxi to the hospital.Standing in front of the massive hospital building, Alyssa’s anger flared uncontrollably. She wouldn’t allow anyone to harm Lily. She found Cindy’s room and pushed the door open. Inside, Ezekiel was gently holding Cindy, comforting her.The sight stabbed at her heart."Are you here to apologize?" Ezekiel noticed her and said coldly.Apologize? Why should she apologize? He was the alpha of the pack, and he had access to every surveillance camera in his territory. He was shameless! He had hurt Lily! Her sorrow was instantly consumed by rage. Alyssa stepped forward and slapped Ezekiel across the face."Are you insane, Alyssa?!" Cindy exclaimed in shock.Alyssa ignored Cindy. She looked at Ezekiel, whose eyes burned with fury, but she did
"Cindy, why did you lie?" Ezekiel turned around, his eyes dark and cold as he stared at her.Cindy's heart sank, a wave of fear washing over her. She had always believed that no matter how much she hurt Alyssa, Ezekiel would stand by her side. She had long considered him her possession, but now, his gaze felt unfamiliar."I didn’t…" Cindy stammered, trying to defend herself, but her voice grew weaker, as if even she didn’t believe her own words.Ezekiel didn’t give her a chance. He quickly pulled out his phone and played the surveillance footage from the café. The video showed Cindy standing provocatively in front of Alyssa, deliberately pouring hot coffee on herself, and then dramatically screaming."Why did you do this?" Ezekiel’s voice was low and icy, like a sharp blade piercing Cindy’s heart.Cindy lowered her head, unable to meet his eyes. Her fingers clenched the bedsheet tightly, her knuckles turning white.Ezekiel sighed, rubbing his face in exhaustion. The day had been overwh
When Alyssa woke up, she found herself strapped to an operating table, her limbs immobilized. Her heart raced, and fear washed over her like a tidal wave. She tried to scream, but only a faint sound escaped her throat. No one responded to her cries for help.Suddenly, the door opened."You’re awake," Ezekiel’s cold voice cut through the air like a sharp blade.Alyssa turned her head and saw Ezekiel staring at her with his usual icy gaze. A mix of emotions surged within her—surprise and an unwelcome flicker of joy. He had finally come to see her. Despite the deep hurt from last night, she couldn’t help but feel a sliver of comfort at his presence."Come on… you need to do something," he said, his tone leaving no room for argument."What? Does he know I’m pregnant? Is he going to…?" Fear spread through her. She couldn’t bear the thought of losing another child in an operating room. The last miscarriage had haunted her, and this time, she vowed to protect her baby at all costs. She strugg
"I, Alyssa Gray, reject you, Ezekiel Crawford." Alyssa's voice, though hoarse, was firm and clear. These were her first words after years of silence, and they were her final judgment on her fate.Ezekiel's heart sank as if pierced by a sharp blade. His wolf howled in agony within him, the pain so intense it nearly took his breath away."W-why?" he stammered, his voice trembling with a panic he had never felt before. Even in his worst nightmares, he had never imagined hearing those words from her."I don’t want to stay in this loveless marriage anymore. Please, let me go," Alyssa said softly, her tone resolute. Her eyes were cold, as if she were looking at a stranger.Ezekiel was stunned. He stared at her, searching her eyes for a trace of the warmth he once knew, but all he found was pain, anger, and deep regret."But you love me…" he murmured, his voice tinged with despair."I used to love you, but not anymore. Now, all I feel for you is deep disappointment. I can’t even bear to look
《Earlier that day》Ezekiel paced outside the operating room, his calm exterior masking the turmoil within. After Alyssa's desperate resistance to the surgery, he hadn't expected her to return willingly. Her sudden change in demeanor troubled him - something was wrong. Her eyes had been disturbingly empty when she walked back, making him wonder if something had happened with Lily. He wanted to ask what had changed, but pride held him back. He couldn't show any sign of caring, not when he had spent so long maintaining his distance. The surgery seemed to stretch endlessly. Though the doctors had assured him of success, anxiety gnawed at his insides. Every minute felt like an hour as he stood there, his thoughts fixed on Alyssa lying unconscious in that room. All of a sudden, he felt someone standing beside him.It was Cindy. Since she already had her plan in motion, she figured her and Ezekiel would finally be together after Alyssa's surgery but what she didn't expect was his reaction."W
Ezekiel chuckled softly; "Well, if my queen is asking..." Then, he kissed her again, more passionately than the first time.Alyssa wrapped her hands around his neck and deepened the kiss. Their lips moved so perfectly against each other's and their breaths became heavier. It felt so good that Alyssa wanted to continue so bad but she had to control herself. If they went on with it for a long time, she feared she might tear off his clothes from his body and ask for it right here and now. When they pulled away from the kiss, they both breathed heavily to regain their lost breath. As Alyssa tried to catch her breath, Ezekiel stared at her silently... like he was deep in thoughts."What's wrong?" Alyssa asked when she noticed his intense stare."Do you want to continue?" He asked a of a sudden."What?" Alyssa asked in confusion."Don't act like you don't understand what I just asked..." He whispered as he pulled her impossibly closer to him."But I don... ahhh.." A soft and low man escaped
Since Alyssa had lived as a slave in the most years of her life and still had to take care of her son in her remaining years, she never had the time to engage in activities like this. She did love the snow and the chilly weather that comes with it but down at the south, the snow only comes in a season and then, she really had no time to enjoy it.Now that she was free from all of her problems, she decided to at least try it once. After she had put on the skis, she realized that she couldn't even use it."Uhm... Ezekiel." She called out as she tried to stand up but only ended up falling back on the bench."Yes baby." Ezekiel asked as he turned his attention to her."How about I get an instructor to help me?" She asked as she moved her eyes to stare at people who had instructors.Ezekiel's eyes followed her gaze and they landed on a young man, holding a lady in his arms and helping her to ski. They might seem like they were just enjoying skiing but the places the instructor placed his h
The little battle between the lovebirds quickly ended when no one could emerge the winner. They sealed their playful angst against each other with a deep kiss. After that, they rinsed their bodies with clean water and then, they got out of the tub together. They dried their wet bodies and put on a fresh set of clothes before leaving for the dinning hall together. At the dinning hall, everyone was already seated on their various seats and the food had been set on the table already.Jason was about to dig in when Melissa swat his hands away from the spoon immediately."Your sister and her husband aren't here yet. Why don't you be a good boy and go call them out for breakfast?" She asked, more like ordered.Jason let out a small sigh and was about to stand up from his seat when Alyssa's cheerful voice resounded in the large hall."Good morning. Hope we aren't late for breakfast." She said, thereby announcing the presence of her and Ezekiel in the process."Well, you arrived just in time.
《THE NEXT DAY》Alyssa woke up only to find herself wrapped tightly by the strong arms of her mate. She smiled and raised her hand to gently stroke his elbow as she enjoyed being in his warm and protective embrace.Just then, she felt something twitch inside of her; it felt like it was in her lower body. She gently moved the blanket covering them and looked down only to see Ezekiel's hard rod still inside of her. Then, she recalled what had happened between them. Last night, after their numerous orgasms, she begged Ezekiel to remain inside of her. She claimed she wanted to know how it felt to wake up full.Since she pleaded, Ezekiel had no choice but to give in to his Luna. Alyssa's face turned crimson red when she recalled how much she had pleaded with him to give in to her kinky fantasy. What was she thinking?? Was she that intoxicated by the amount of orgasms he gave her last night that made her ask from something this bizarre??Merely thinking about it made her so embarrassed. Know
Her life was finally complete; with her family doting on her and her mate loving her so tenderly like she had always wished. The banquet ended hours later so Alyssa and Ezekiel retired to their room together."Ahggh.." Alyssa let out a sigh as she collapsed tiredly on the bed.Since they arrived at Winterridge Band Pack, they hadn't had time to rest. They drove for two hours from the airport, they had to take a tour round the castle when they arrived before they attended the banquet with Alyssa's parents. As her body touched the soft surface of the bed, she felt like going to sleep immediately but she couldn't because of the clothes she was putting on.She needed something loose; not this tight and fitted gown if she wants to sleep peacefully so she stood up from the bed.She moved her hands to the back and tried to unzip the dress but it was hard for her since her hand wasn't long enough. Just then, she felt a presence behind her.Since she already knew who it was, she wasn't startle
After Matthew shared a toast to Melissa and the crowd, the took a sip of his wine and everyone in the hall followed suit. Then, the banquet kicked start. The violinists that were invited were playing a soft tune in the background while everyone wined and dined happily. Some of the villagers stood up from their seats and walked over to where the Alpha and his family sat to congratulate them and also welcome Alyssa and her husband to the pack.Alyssa was brimming with smiles as the villagers extended warm greetings to her. Even though Winterridge Band Pack wasn't as modernized like Moonstone keepers pack was, she loved it better here. The people here were so warm and nice; there wasn't any hint of malice nor fakeness in them. They genuinely loved their Alpha and Luna and the air here made her feel more at ease.It made her wonder if things would have been different if she had grown up here instead. Sure, she wouldn't have passed through the hell she did at Moonstone keepers pack, she wo
A few days after the wedding Ceremony, Ezekiel and Alyssa had to follow Melissa to Winterridge Band Pack, Alyssa's home pack which resides at the Northern region for their honeymoon. It was the pack's tradition and Alyssa also had to go back to her home since she has been away for a long time and now, she's the luna of another pack. After bidding her son bye and promising him some goodies, she entered the car with Ezekiel and Melissa and they were taken to the airport. To make the flight easier for them, they used Ezekiel's private plane.《A few hours later》Their plane finally landed and outside the airport's building, there was a convoy waiting for them. They had come to pick up their Luna, her long lost daughter and the Alpha husband she got married to.After they settled in one of the fleet of cars, their journey to Winterridge Band Pack continued.Looking out of the car's window, Alyssa noticed that as they reached the pack's territory, the scenery started to change. It wasn't li
《The next day》The huge town's hall had been decorated with beautiful flowers and pictures of the bride and groom. Guest from far and near trooped in like ants marching into their colony.Everyone had come to witness the beautiful moment between their Alpha and his Luna. Though, this isn't the first time they were tying the knot, this time felt different. It felt like a fresh breath of the earth after a huge storm. It was far more romantic and beautiful than their last wedding. This time, the people could see that they actually wanted each other.Ezekiel arrived first as per their tradition. He looked handsome in his tailor made suit and he stood at the podium, waiting patiently for his bride to arrive. As the seconds passed, he slowly started to get nervous. He wasn't able to see Alyssa throughout the day before because Melissa claimed that the bride and groom weren't supposed to see each other a day before their wedding; as per their pack's tradition.Even though he didn't want to b
《D-1 to the wedding》As the long awaited day drew closer, the pack bustled with more activities. Everyone around were playing their own parts in the preparation of the wedding. It's been years since they last had a royal wedding that was this grand so everyone was excited for the day even though they weren't even the couple. That day, Alyssa was very busy because she had to welcome guests who came from far and near, to celebrate the joyous day with her. One of the guests was Emma.Since the day Ezekiel confronted Emma about Cindy's whereabouts, they hadn't really been in touch so Alyssa wondered why she was here now, a day to her wedding to Ezekiel."I am not here for trouble, I just want to around on the day my brother finally ties the knot with you." She explained when she noticed Alyssa was suspicious of her.Even though she looked innocent, it didn't stop Alyssa from being wary of her. Emma had always loathed her for no reason and Alyssa was sure Emma's deep hatred for her was nev
