Melissa

The conversation I had with Zachary left me sour and irritated during school hours and my friend, Chloe, seemed to have noticed. She came to my seat when everyone else had gone to the canteen and leaned on the table, batting her eyelashes at me. I stared at her with confusion, moving away the beverage I had been drinking to focus my attention on her and when she saw that I was ready for the conversation, she smiled.

“What the hell is the matter with you today?” She asked, the eyelashes now staying in one place. I offered her a more confused look, as if I didn’t know what she was talking about and she sighed. “What is it, Melissa?”

“What is what?” I demanded, now realizing that I wasn’t in the mood to have any conversation, all thanks to Zachary, who singlehandedly knew how to ruin my day.
