CHAPTER 16

I did go home. When I entered our house, it was dark and empty. It didn’t feel like home anymore. Dumeretso ako sa kusina at kumuha ng wine. I opened and drank it right away. I bit my lower lip as Raven’s words kept playing on my head.

So, he’s not living here anymore. Kaya pala hindi niya man lang ako hinanap dahil kahit siya ay umalis.

I chuckled at myself. I confessed to him! And he didn’t believe me..

“Mukha ba akong nagsisinungaling? Am I not capable of loving someone else? Am I not allowed to move on from my past lover?” tanong ko sa sarili habang natatawa. “Am I a joke?” My voice started to break.

I heaved a deep sigh. Binitawan ko ang inumin at umakyat na sa taas. Pumasok ako sa kwarto naming dalawa at napa-iling nalang ako nang maamoy ko ang pabango niya. I tilted my head as I looked around. Napatingin ako sa picture frame namin na nasa bed side table. Dumeretso ako roon at umupo sa kama. Kinuha ko ‘yon at tinitigan.
