“Where the hell are you taking me? It’s pitch black out here!” I protested, my voice irritated as I realized Giovanni was dragging me toward the overgrown garden.

“Giovanni! Let me go! What do you want from me?” I strained against his grip, my frustration mounting.

He finally released me, giving me a moment to catch my breath from his hurried pace. “I don’t want you under the protection of the Alpha King. Tell him to stop it.”

I furrowed my brows in confusion. “I don’t ask him to do such things, he is acting on his own accord—something I can’t freaking control!”

“Even so, you need to make him stop!” Giovanni’s voice was a sharp, furious demand, causing me to take a step back in surprise. What the hell is up with him?

He began pacing, his frustration evident as he ran his hands through his hair. “He’s behaving this way because you haven’t rejected him yet!”

I took a deep breath, trying to steady myself. I had a sinking feeling about what was coming next.

“You have to re
