So many thoughts are swirling in my head as I stand rooted to the spot, trying to absorb everything he's saying. It feels like the weight of the past is pressing down on me, and the more he talks, the more it all comes crashing in.

Back in my previous life, I watched as Alex spiraled toward his destruction. It all began after the accident at Hotel Grandia. From that moment, he changed. Ruthlessness took over, not just toward his pack and commanders, but to everyone in the city.

At the time, I couldn’t understand why, but now, hearing it from Giovanni makes sense. Alex had been drugged.

I don't know why I wasn’t affected the same way. Maybe it was pure luck that I only ended up poisoned instead. Still, there are so many unanswered questions swirling in my mind.

Why had it come to this? Why had he gone so far as to hunt me down? Why was he so determined to kill me? Even now, I struggle to understand the depth of his madness.

“Why do you still want me back?” I ask, my v
