"What? How did he escape?" I asked, trying to process the news.

"We're not sure yet. We're still investigating. But we need you to be careful. He may try to come after you."

I felt a surge of fear, and Daniel's eyes widened in concern as he saw the look on my face.

"Okay, thank you for telling me," I said, trying to stay calm.
