Elena’s POV

“How dare you? Just tell me what it is here and now”. I commanded in anger a Phila hung up on me.

I stood there, frozen, as Phila hung up on me. My mind was racing with questions. What did she mean? What did she find out about Daniel? I looked over at Daniel, who was still fast asleep, oblivious to the storm brewing inside me.

I couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off. I left the room without saying a word to him, my heart heavy with uncertainty.

As I arrived at the office, I saw Phila sitting at her desk, her hands covered in photographs. She looked up at me, her expression serious.

"Elena, I'm glad you're here," she said, handing me the pictures.

I took them, my eyes widening in shock. There, in plain sight, were photographs of Daniel and Alex together. I felt like I'd been punched in the gut.
