The tick of the clock in the living room got to me, reminding me of my predicament. When I looked up at it, I saw that it was one in the middle of the night.

I got up at once, pacing around the room, wondering what could have happened to Dante and Guilia. I picked up my phone from the couch, calling them once more, and no one answered.

“Ma’am, I’m sure Mr. Guerra is fine. He has never lost a fight.”

When Ariana said this, my brows became wrinkled, and I was about to go out on her when the front door was opened.

I heard Guilia and Dante fighting in the lobby, and then they walked into the living room.

“I wish Xavier hadn’t died. I wouldn’t be here speaking with you!” Guilia yelled, and they both turned to see Ariana and me.

Ariana scurried away at once.

Guilia scoffed with her arms crossed, and my heart raced as I saw how bartered Dante’s face was. He had a black eye.
