“Tell me it isn’t true,” I said to Dante, who stared at me blankly.

Why did he think it was okay to hit someone in the slightest? This made me wonder how he had not hit me all this while.

“My actions are not coordinated with you,” he said, trying to hold me, but I withdrew my hands, crossing them to my chest.

“..And attacking an innocent man was part of the plan?” I asked, and he sighed. “That was what you spent your entire night doing.” I scoffed when I remembered the book bouquet.

“Did you even make the bouquet?”

“Yes,” he answered.

“I have men to do my dirty work, and I do not have to be the one to punch Glenn in the face.” I scrunched up my face when he said this,

Was this supposed to be some kind of achievement or something to brag about?

“I’m sorry, and I will try my best to keep my emotions in check.” he said, and I nodded.

“Of course you are. You will always be, but you will never change,” I attempted to leave, but then he held me back. "Dante, I got your apology, but
