A toast

Elowen:

Kissing Glenn felt good, but not as good as Dante. But my heart ached so badly that I didn’t want to pull out because of how comforting his kiss was. But the more I thought of Dante, the kiss became less enjoyable, causing me to pull away.

My entire body was engulfed in shame and regret. The only thing that kept me together was the fact I was in public and in front of Glenn, who would keep me from crying even if I wanted to.

“What?”

He asked, and I shook my head.

“It’s not your fault, Glenn, and I left out the part that I am married. My husband would kill you, and I wouldn’t want to be the reason you ended up in a body bag.”

He chuckled when I said this, but my face held no atom of amusement.

“He wouldn’t dare, and maybe when he comes around to kill me, I’ll teach him a lesson for hurting you. When I’m done with him, he’ll never come close to you.”

His words were sweet, but he didn’t know he was dealing with Dante.
