"Really? Same with Celestine." Her head tilts to the side like she's trying to figure something out.

Controlling my breathing so as not to come off insane, I ask, "Celestine is here?" My heart is beating a mile a minute as a tiny thread of hope forms in my chest. It's like I never learn my lesson.

"No. She was here," Lora walks over to the fridge and takes out a juice can. "but she just left. I dropped her off at the airport. She said she needed to go back to school right away. Something about a problem that she had to take care of."
