One month later.

Lorenzo's POV

"I hate Mr. Norton," Luke grumbles as we wait in line at the Morning Slup, one of the cafes close to the gym. "Why do I need to know how to find the equation of a tangent line to a graph at a particular point? It's not like I'm going to use it in the future. It's completely useless."

I bite my tongue to stop myself from telling Luke that he's going to be using it in the future if he plans to be an engineering. Instead, like a good friend, I pat his back. "I'm sure you'll figure it out."

The person in front of us moved off to the side, and Luke stepped up to the counter.

“Hi, what are you getting?” the barista asked, flashing him a million-watt smile.

“Can I get an iced white chocolate mocha and a plain black coffee? Both large.” He leans against the counter as the lady makes our orders.

"Here you go." She places the drinks on the counter in front of Luke. "Would you like to take along some cupcakes? They're fresh. I baked them this morning." She blushed
