Ganging Against The Rogues

Peter's POV

"You know, this has never happened before. I, changing my decision because of someone else theory based on intuition and without proper evidence, but since you are so adamant that the rogues are heading north, I am choosing to trust your intuition and follow you, I just hope your intuition are right",  I said to malina who glanced at me before nodding. 

"Dont worry, I wont fail you. I trust my instinct and they never fail me", she said confidently and I looked at Gerald who was still holding her hand. 

"Its okay Malina, you don't have to work too hard, I know why you are doing this and trust me, the whole council supports you and whatever decision you make", Gerald said as he stole her attention from me and i growled inwardly. 

This guy. It looks like he is going to become a thorn in the side  between me and my mate. Why does he not let me speak in peace with my mate?. Looks like taking him out the picture is a necessary evil that must be done before its too late. All I have to do is make her go on another mission then make her live near the kingdom or probably send Gerald on a distant mission. 

"Both of you, let's not waste time here and solve this case", she said and moved slowly in the north direction. 

Seeing how she started jumping from one tree to the other and hiding behind one,  I could tell she has been doing this for a long time and couldn't stop praising her. 

I wanted to ask her if she took some special training in a mountain to be this good but suddenly heard some commotions in our left side, making us pause for a moment. 

Since we were cautious not to alert the rogues, we didn't bring our team but stationed them around the forest just incase we were  discovered by the rogues. 

Right no, Malina, Gerald and I are hiding behind 3 big trees waiting for the for the rogues to dock and begin business. 

Judging from the commotion, they have started to take action and are coming to shore of cantele lake. It looks like we will wait for them to relax and then bring out the ammunition to commence business before we react. 

Though I didn't want to accept it, i was not a sore loser but our mate was right when she said the rogues will be meeting in the north side. 

"Malina, since you are leading this project, why dont we attack those bunch of jerks and move", i asked her and she looked at me before pulling me behind the tree. 

"Mr Dominic,  what the hell is your problem, what the hell are you thinking roaming around and showing yourself, you are a king for crying out loud, don't you know how powerful your aura is?", she said while she scolded me like a shes my mother and i kinda liked it. 

"Its good that you know I'm the king but my name is King Peter Tate not Dominic and i expect you treat me like the king I am because your past action says otherwise", i said feeling confident. 

"Yes! Yes!!, i know what your name is but you look like a rogue I killed few weeks back, he was dumb and his name was Dominic", she said while focusing on the rogues movement. 

What the hell is wrong with this lady. Anytime I think I've proven myself as king, she plays a new game. No one dares talk to me in this manner. 

"Did you just call me dumb?", i asked coldly trying to get her to take back what she said. 

"Don't worry I know you're king. Regarding how I behave with you. I tend to treat people the way they treat me", she said, stomping on my desires and I was about to say more before Gerald walked in on us, making me grit my teeth. 

Looking at him, I wondered if we should send him to the other teams, I'm pretty confident that Malina and I could handle these weak rogues. 

"Mal, the dealings has started. The council man you sent ahead to watch them just returned. He said they we're hiding the ammunition below the lake and their divers have started to bring it to the surface. They have brought to the surface 7 trunks. Should we attack now or wait till its all out?", Gerald asked and seeing it was mission based, I kept my emotions aside and focused on the mission. 

"What do you think we should do?", she asked and looked towards me, making me raise my brows. 

"Are you seriously asking for my opinion so you can think about it or defy it?", I asked and she nodded. 

"The latter, I asked just so I can defy them", she said without thinking twice and I twitched my lips to her behavior. 

She seriously doesn't think twice before opening her mouth, does she?. 

"You seriously are something", I said looking frustrated. 

"Okay let's do this, we approach the rogues slowly and make sure they don't notice us. We will apply soil to our skin to reduce the scent our body gives off, especially the mountain wolf king or should I say Lycan king", she said looking at me awkwardly. 

I am sure if I try to defy her now, she wouldn't think twice before kicking me out the team, and right now  being with  her is far more important than my pride. 

"Lets apply soil to our body", I grumbled. 

"Never in my life have I done something like this, I don't even know why I'm doing this", I grumbled to show my dissatisfaction and both Malina and Gerald smiles before applying soil to their exposed skin. 

Watching Malina apply soil to her exposed skin made me gulp before I looked away. 

This is not the right time to be distracted by beauty Peter, remember, you have to watch her. I told my self while applying soil on my skin. 

"Mr. Dominic, ask your team to stay on alert in both the east and west direction. Ask your trackers to keep an eye out for a rogue with a blue tattoo on his neck", she said and though I was vexed she didn't call me by my name, I still nodded and did as she said. 

"I think we are ready to move. Gerald I need you to take some people on your team and go the other side of the lake and guard it incase the rogues try to escape. The chances are slim but I don't want make that mistake, The king and I would guard this area", she said and I felt strangely happy seeing as Gerald is out of the picture. 

"Malina don't worry about it, I knew you would ask me to do it but I've moved some guy there already", Gerald said before smiling at her and I grunted. 

Just what is this guy's problem, can't he sense the situation here? 

'You know if you just muster up the courage to tell her how you feel, you wouldn't be here killing your self with painful thought', kyle said and I grumbled. 

Why is everyone against me today?.
